So, I made an appointment here at 11:00am. I got here at 11, and I was greeted and we went over the services I requested. I needed an oil change, an inspection, and a new key fob. This shouldn't have taken a long time, so I planned for about an hour of my time. This ended up taking nearly 3 hours of my time. The price wasn't too bad for everything we got done, but the time could've been better. There was an understanding that they were short staffed, however when an appointment is made, there shouldn't be such a delay for simple services. The workers were extremely nice, however, and I would recommend them, just carve out a chunk of your day if you're going to wait. They also do not have a bathroom in the shop, so be aware of that too :) read more

My van was hesitating, bucking and an obvious loss of power to the point that it was unsafe to drive. Bill at auto clinic took it in and went through extensive diagnosis. After finding multiple errors through diagnostics they were able to repair the vehicle. They were thorough and through sophisticated scopes and graphs which from experience I believe other shops would not bother to attempt successfully got it done. The best mechanic I have found in the area. I always feel they are honest with me on what needs to be done. The staff is always friendly and helpful. AutoClinic really won me over last year, when I got an NYS inspection from another shop in the area. That shop told me I needed new brakes. The car is fairly new, I was surprised and decided to not do the repair (the car passed inspection). Flash forward a few months, the brakes concern still nagging at me, I brought my car to AutoClinic for an oil change and asked the staff to look at the breaks. Later on, Autoclinic called me explained I did not need new brakes and gave me a detailed overview of what to look for and what brake testing is like so I could understand when something like that should be needed. I was sent here for a CARCO inspection (free) and was very impressed with the staff and shop. Bill could not have been more professional and pleasant so I decided to get an oil change with them. I scheduled an appointment and was told it would take about 30 minutes. I was taken on time, did not mind waiting there as the shop is clean and well-stocked with reading material. There's also a nice outdoor area to sit when it's nice out. I could see into the actual garage and it was very tidy. When my car was ready, they thanked me for giving them the opportunity to do the job. When does that happen anymore? If I need anything, they are the first ones I shall call and I recommended them to everyone. read more

For anyone concerned about germs I am usually the only one in the waiting area while I am there. A nice alternative to Mavis if you need new tires and they will order anything you want. I find that car clinic is the most honest, clean repair shop, and his well train staff always gives you a thorough explaination of the repairs. As it says under my name, I live in Astoria, Queens. I've always felt ripped off at all the auto shops down in the city, and could never trust that I was getting a fair assessment. Luckily, my friend who lives in Mahopac recommended this place for my annual inspection. Their pricing was very fair (I know, I know, everything is more expensive in the city, but this really seemed like a good deal), the mechanics were knowledgeable, and I wasn't under the impression that they were trying to pull one over on me. Also, it may not really matter, but I've never seen an auto shop that comes remotely close to being as clean as this one. It really looked like you could eat off of the floor. While I can't speak for that other reviewer, I wish they had places like this in the city. read more

I had an emission code issue on a 2006 TSX that I did not want to go to Acura to repair. I saw the Car Clinic's ad in the Somers Record and called at 5:45 pm. Alex picked up and we had an engaging conversation for about 15 minutes. I am a cynic and tend not to trust anyone, especially auto repair types based on the experiences I have had in the past. I brought my car to them the next day and trusted that they would do the right thing. Guess what....they did. They diagnosed and repaired my car for probably half the cost that Acura would have charged. They also had the decency to show me the part they replaced and photos of my car being diagnosed (without asking). I am very impressed with these guys after only one experience with them. Their shop is clean and well-equipped and conveniently located. It appears to me that Alex and Craig are knowledgeable and trustworthy and really care about their customers. Nothing fake about them. At this point, I highly recommend that you try them out if you have not as of yet. read more
