Returning customer, did amazing jobs prior to this... After picking up my vehicle from the shop, I started finding more and more parts not put back onto its original areas. Door rubbers were missing, bushings left out on floorboard. You would think paying so much for labor that they would actually put the parts back. I would say it could be a coincidence but multiple parts is just frustrating at this point. Please better your service/parts department and take your time working on our vehicles. We picked you guys for a reason. Update, found more damage done to my car sadly, assuming they replaced my whole door, they used my same window that had tint on it, there is multiple scratches across the window itself. Again did an amazing job before this vehicle that was brought in. Sad to see they're declining in customer service and care for the vehicles they work on. Please do better for the people. read more

Got into a small fender bender. Did my own browsing through my insurance and found AutoCraft Hawaii Kapolei. I looked up the reviews and saw they had 4.8 stars. Looked up the pictures and the waiting area looked clean and neat. Plus, all the reviews were awesome. I decided to take a chance and I don't regret it. My vehicle was done in a couple days. They give text message notifications of the repair progress which is great and also the estimated cost. At the end they go over the repairs and recommendations. Also, they courtesy clean your vehicle inside and out. The work was done as expected with no issues. I would recommend for anyone looking for body work, or through your vehicle insurance. read more

Kapolei Location Review. First of all, when I dropped off my car for an estimate as self-pay, and the office disclosed that they will need an estimate payment due of $52.35. And if I decide to go through my insurance which is State Farm, then they will apply the $52.35 to my deductible. The checked I issued was cashed on 7/8/2024. Upon picking up my car on 9/3/2024 (Tuesday) the office requested for me to pay my full deductible and they said by end of week, they will send me a refund check. I called after 2 weeks, and they mailed a check to the incorrect address. So they said they will re-mail. It is now 10/3/2024, and they have been giving me the run around when I call or don't answer my calls at all. Particularly Stephen and Cherry. I will be contacting State Farm and the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter as I was charged more than my deductible. 10/3/2024 Update - Minutes after I posted this review - Cherry reached out to me and said that they will refund me after they get the funds back in their account. Which will take another 1-2 weeks. It doesn't make sense because I never received nor cashed any check so why will they need the funds to go back to their account? Ridiculous excuse! read more

Autocraft Hawaii was very helpful in repairing the massive scratch on my car that extended to both passenger side doors. When I called, they immediately were able to schedule me in for an inspection the same week. Getting there, I got lost (GPS was giving me a wrong destination) so when I called them, they were able to give me specific instructions on how to get there and were very helpful. They were very attentive and prompt when I came in for my appointment, which only took a few minutes. And scheduled me for an appointment, again in the same week. They worked with my insurance, explained the process to me very easily, and simplified the entire process - Which was VERY nice. After my accident, I took my car to Autocraft because it was the top recommended shop referred by State Farm insurance. Upon arrival, customer service was great. They said they could take my car in. After about a week they told me they have to decline the job due to rust; which is completely fine because then I can take it to another shop. What AutoCraft did wrong was send the estimate to State Farm and request payment, communicating that the job was finished, accepting payment from State Farm, and also expecting the deductible to be paid when in reality my car has been sitting in my driveway untouched. THIS SHOP IS A FRAUD. On top of this, it took me several weeks to get my car into the next shop due to the fact that they made State Farm think that they are working on my car. This has made it very difficult for the next shop because they are still waiting for supplement approval and the fraudulent miscommunication with Autocraft has prolonged the process. The messed up part about this situation is that I'm not the only one!!! I hope more people read this and speak up about this because this is not acceptable. read more

Communication at this place is terrible, none to be exact. I went in to get a bumper and tailgate replaced was quoted 4 days and took a month (a week for parts). They did not update me or anyone else in insurance claim process which caused problems with car rental company. After the month when I picked my truck the bumper was crooked and I had to take it back to get fixed. It's been about a month and I am running into little issues here and there but I would never take my truck back here again. read more

The location in Kalihi on Moonui restored (by replacement) my minor damage to fender/bumper cover, misc, and paint. The result was perfect, and I was shocked they completed the job in under 30 total hours! I dropped off in the morning, picked up the next afternoon. Scheduling was reasonably fast as well, it was completed about three weeks from initial estimate. They even did a great job washing/cleaning the entire car and interior. This was covered by insurance, so no hassle, no deductible, and they coordinated a rental car as well. It was all very seamless...and painless! I deduct one star only because I detest automated text messages to my phone, before, during, and after. I hope I will not eternally be receiving further texts from them, as I have not had a car in a body shop for over 20 years. My car was parked when hit on this particular occasion. Being a Boomer, it takes a lot to impress me, and more to get me to actually review. Hopefully, I never need to see them again, but they will be my first call if I do. read more

In short: This was my first time here. My USAA suggested that I go to them. I will never take their suggestion again. While the work they did on my car was very good, even excellent, there is a BIG problem with the communications between the staff, their internal bookkeeping system and their accounts receivable department. As a result of their problem we got targeted for charges that I did not owe. In more detail: 1. My husband and I paid the full amount due in order to take delivery of my car. 2. We then received a message from the accounts receivable department that we had not paid. 3. So in good faith we drove out to their store on the Big Island with our receipt proving that we had paid. That was about 80 minutes of driving plus office time. 4. The lady at the front desk looked at our account and said, "I don't know why accounts receivable thinks that you need to pay, you have a zero balance." We asked if we could give them a copy of the paid balance? She said, "No that's not necessary. We have it all in the computer." She told us that she would contact accounts receivable and straighten out their internal problem. 5. Now, many weeks later, Ida, a nice lady in accounts receivable, said that they have not received any money. She also stated that no-one from the front office had contacted her. Ida now wants me to send all the old paperwork to her. As far as she was concerned we still owe Autocraft money. 6. How would we have gotten the car out of Autocraft if we hadn't paid?, I asked. 7. I explained that this was Autocrat's problem but Ida seemed to want to make it MY problem. What is going on? Is someone at Autocraft stealing checks? Proof: We have letters from USAA stating they have paid them, plus an invoice from Autocraft with a zero balance. Action Plan: In the future I will insist that USAA allow me to go to Kraftsman Autobody in Kailua Kona. They have taken good care of us for years. read more

The difference between a good shop and a great one is when they truly back up their work. After AutoCraft found out that I wasn't 100% satisfied with the end result, they had me come in to take a look at the issues. I thought they'd just offer a quick buff job, maybe at best a paintless dent removal to fix the minor imperfections, but instead they redid the entire job. They fixed my car very well, however, it took almost 4 months due to them "ordering the wrong part" and once i finally got it back i checked all my compartments and there were several items missing including my registration and safety inspection. After bringing this up to them they basically acted like they had no idea what happened. All the items that were in my glove box initially were gone and other random items were put inside. Glad my car is fixed but I'm just very upset that my personal belongings went missing in the process. UPDATE: So after realizing i had several more things missing than I thought I went back to speak to the manager because the employees weren't any help. After speaking with the manager I was informed that my car was involved in a break in that had occurred, so I then asked them to email me the police report and it was from January 24th. I gave them my car January 18th and didn't get it back until the very end of march, yet no one had told me about the break in during that whole time. I then looked more in my trunk (which is a hatchback) because whenever i open it it sounds like glass is falling and when i looked more closely in the bed of it there was in fact glass in there. So my theory is that they broke in through the trunk window and my car was delayed so much because they had to replace the trunk window. And an even bigger theory is that they stage break ins every year and it gets covered up. I've seen other reviews from 1+ years ago mentioning missing items in their vehicles. DO NOT COME HERE. And I've tried to report them to the better business bureau and they weren't even on there which also isn't a good sign. read more

After the insurance approve the claim, we were able to schedule right away. They were very helpful with coordinating a rental vehicle while my car was in repair. They are very quick, informative on the progress, and professional from beginning to end. I turned in my car on a Friday and was ready for pick up by Thursday. Less than a week which is plus! The repair shop gave us a different brand after we waited for a month. We told them again we want the exact brand products, they re-order again. A month more after, we called the shop to check if the replacement parts have arrived, the girl told us should be arrived by end of March. And will give us a call once arrived. However, she didn't do her commitment. We called again, finally it arrived. And we come to repair our car again, and the girl told us the repair should be completed within an hour, but not truth again. We seated almost 2 hours still have not completed. After my vehicle was completed upon inspection there were new scratches where I didn't have any before. They didn't put my front inner panel back properly. There were dirty finger marks inside above my passenger window. There was dust on my front dash. There was dirt on the front of my back seats. The ladies inside told me to bring it back anytime and any day to fix the problems. When I brought it back they were supposed to buff out the scratches they caused but instead they caused more scratches. The guys in the back didn't wash my vehicle and did a lazy job and tried to buff out the scratches they caused but created more and left the buffing residue on my vehicle. They also left their dirty rag in my vehicle on my back seat. It was not professional at all. So I showed Betsy everything that was wrong and she apologize and scheduled me to go back again for the 2nd time. I get my vehicle and it was ok. By this point I'm not satisfied with the work provided and the inconvenience it's cause me. I had a terrible experience and cannot recommend this company. So after being in a car accident, Allstate sent my car to Autocraft in Kapolei industrial area. Of course naturally being upset about my newer car being in an accident I hated the situation I was in in general. But the people at Autocraft we're extremely understanding. They were a good ear for what happened to my car, asked if anyone was hurt, and was genuine about it. Now my car took longer than expected, NOT on Autocrafts behalf but due to Insurance mix ups. I had to tell myself to be patient because it was a recked car and I trusted them to ensure my car was safe to drive again. So after a month an a half being in the shop, I got my car back on the road and WOW! Seriously you can't even tell my car was in an accident. Talk about stellar work! My insurance offered a non-transferable warranty on the work done by the shop, which I appreciate. The guy who inspected my car even told me that there are some damages to my car that are in fact FACTORY ISSUES and should be addressed through the customer service of Honda. So just hearing that made me feel like the guy inspecting my car really was looking out for the best interest for my ride. I cannot ask for a better service. Once everything was inspected and taken care of they washed my car, looks like they waxed it and they definitely gave my wheels some TLC. My '17 Civy looked brand new. read more

The receptionist SARAH told me she will keep me updated with repairs etc. 2 weeks later, not 1 phone call. I finally call them on a Tuesday asking about an update, they tell me it'll be ready tomorrow (the next day, Wednesday). Come Wednesday, no call. She claims she's been calling/texting/leaving voicemail. I've received nothing and my phone has service everywhere I go. Okay, whatever. Come Friday she finally calls and it's time to pick up my car. We go down there to pick it up and the air bag light is still on, and the tabs on the back seat panel of the drivers seat are BROKEN. It looks like the mechanic who had replaced the head rest, broke the tabs, never replaced it, and just tried to put everything back together as if I wouldn't notice. It was not broken due to the rear end damage. It was completely the mechanic's fault. The panel literally fell off as soon as I started driving away. Took it back to them within 20 mins of just leaving. Once again SARAH said she will keep me updated with repairs. 1 week goes by and no call. Called them on a Monday. "We're waiting on the parts" she told me. Alright fine, I wait another week. Called them again on a Monday, now she tells me they have to take it to the dealership, but will be finished and ready to pick up by WEDNESDAY. Come Wednesday NO PHONE CALL, NO UPDATE. I had to call them 30 mins before their shop closed just for them to tell me my car is still at the dealership. I wasted and planned my whole day around this, thinking I'm picking up my car today. She's constantly telling me she will keep me updated every step of the way, but in every instance I've had to call their repair shop. NOT ONCE has she contacted me. There is no communication happening what so ever. At this point I'm becoming so frustrated with this company, I wish I had never taken my car here for repairs. I seen so many good yelp reviews for this place, every one else received updates for their vehicle repairs. Not in my case. In every single instance, I've had to call and ask what's going on with my car because this company FAILS at communicating. Finally picked up my car after almost 2 months. I'm still unhappy with the rear end repairs, the trunk doesn't line up correctly. I did not want to continue to keep having repairs with this company so I'm going to have it fixed else where eventually. I highly recommend NOT coming here for your repairs. read more

Bottom line up front Autocraft Hawaii is a fantastic shop. After my Corvette was hit, I was pretty upset. I started the claim process through my insurance, and there was a list of approved shops. Autocraft Hawaii was one of the shops on the list. I am not sure how you make the list, but their shop was on it. There were a couple of other shops in the surrounding area. I was looking for a shop close to me as I live in Ewa Beach. I felt this would make the process easier to take the car into the shop and get rides when needed. Autocraft Hawaii has a neat check-in procedure using i-Pads. I felt like this was very convenient and also beneficial during COVID. After the check-in was complete, Roy came out and introduced himself and told me he would be doing the initial estimate for repairs. Roy was very detailed throughout his estimate process. He also let me know that this would be the initial estimate. Supplementary estimates would be submitted if more damage was found once the car was taken apart. I knew there would be more damage due to seeing broken pieces after the accident. The drop-off procedure was easy. The rental car company dropped the car off at the body shop. This was very convenient. Once I dropped the car off, my anxiety hit another gear. I was just worried about the other damage and the overall process. Autocraft Hawaii really keep my mind at ease. Kelcey provided me weekly updates either through email or text; most of the time, it was both. That really made me feel involved during the repair process. She even sent photos throughout the repair stages. During the repair process, it was determined that some additional things needed to be performed. Kelcey reached out to let me know of the additional requirements. She also let me know that they would switch me over to one of their loaner vehicles due to having my car longer than expected. This was an awesome surprise to me. Kelcey explained that I would hit my rental car limit due to the extended time for parts to arrive. Disclaimer it wasn't the body shop's problem; it was the wait time for parts. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my experience with Autocraft Hawaii. The team did an amazing job, and I really felt my car was in great hands. Sometimes it's the small details that make a lasting impact.
