Someone recommended AH to me awhile back and I finally decided to drop in. The service was outstanding - from the time I called to inquire about pricing to the time I picked up my ride. So professional, friendly and helpful. I was told my repair would take about two days and that was accurate. I received a call as expected on the second day and picking up my car was just as seamless as dropping it off. I appreciated how helpful Danny was; everyone I talked to really just went above and beyond. Not to mention their pricing is reasonable. Obviously more reasonable than the overpriced dealer, but also more reasonable than the European repair shop I've used in the past. read more

I've been around for many decades, owned many German cars, and had them serviced at many places. I have NEVER seen a place as honest, thorough and expert as Autohauz Lake Norman. What a find!! A little over a year ago, I bought a little used Audi A-4. Autohaus checked out the car for me before I bought it and have performed all of the servicing since. They specialize in German engineered vehicles. Had a regular oil change and it was time for brakes today and as usual, service was excellent. I made arrangements in advance so they had all of the parts but that said, I was in and out including a test drive in 2 1/2 hours. The quality of the service is without equal and the value is definately there. I was joking with the owner that I had run across a yelp coupon on line and while I had no intention of using it, he insisted on honoring the coupon and it showed up on my final bill. I've been to a number of auto service centers over the years who had tried to inflate the invoice by recommending additional repairs. Not in this case. Very reputable. The only repair what needs to be repaired but at the same time, take the time to review upcoming work that is recommended for the vehicle and leave it up to the customer. No rip offs here. If you have a BMW, Mercedes, Audi or Volkswagen and live anywhere near Lake Norman, this is a place you should seriously take a look at for your service. needs. read more

I own a 2016 Volkswagen GTI. While out for a drive the car started to stutter and slip during acceleration at low speeds. A few moments later I started to hear a knocking noise coming from the engine. I returned home and thought of where to take her. There are 3 mechanics within a mile of my house in Mooresville. The first shop said I needed a new engine. Quoted me 9 grand for a used engine with 47 I on it. Not including labor and tax. The second shop I contacted told me they refuse to do most types of labor on German cars. At that moment I knew I should look for a mechanic whose familiar with my vehicle. I read a good amount of reviews on different Euro focused shops. I chose Autohaus of Denver based off my findings. Made an appointment which did take about a week to happen. These places are smaller and work more in depth so I wasn't disappointed with the wait. After their diagnosis, it was deemed unnecessary to replace the engine. Instead I needed a new High pressure fuel pump, new spark plugs, walnut carbon blast and O2 sensor. Came to exactly 2 grand. They even sent me pictures on a webpage dedicated to my individual car/work order. Couldn't have been more impressed. Would refer anyone with a Euro based vehicle to check them out. I took my BMW to the dealership and they diagnosed my problem to worth $6000.00 dollars, then to a friend's mechanic shop and they said there wasn't nothing wrong, but the light came back on. I went on the internet and google foreign cars mechanic and found Autohaus. The staff was friendly, very helpful, extremely knowledgeable, they send email with pictures of the problem and pictures the part that needed repairing. I was very happy to know that the repair was about $300.00 or less. I'm always scared when taking my car to a mechanic because, I always feel like they will take advantage of me because I'm a woman and don't know any better, I just need my car fix. Wow. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to how amazing Autohaus LKN is!!! They're always kind, explain everything, and their prices cannot be beat. When major fixes are needed, they work with me to do what's right for the car and I know they're telling me the truth. In fact, on a visit about a year or more ago, they could have replaced expensive components and charged me a ton; I wouldn't have known the difference. Brought my 2011 Jetta in for an oil change. Chose Autohaus based on great reviews. Everyone was very pleasant. I asked if they were familiar with what was needed for a 70,000 mile service and oil change and they said yes. Dropped my car off in the morning and they advised they had looked up what was needed and they saw it should only need an oil and brake fluid change and a tire rotation. Picked my car up a little before 5 when they called. Asked for a quote ahead of time and they weren't able to provide but I figured it shouldn't be too expensive. They said everything looked great and all they needed to do was change the oil and brake fluid and rotate the tires as they had said. They also advised they are much more reasonably priced over dealerships as they do not recommend things that aren't warranted. The service sticker in my car was updated saying to return after 5,000 miles or 6 months which is different as I purchased this car new and have always been told in the past to bring in every 10,000 miles or 1 year. Also, the sticker says they used Syn 10-40 but they wrote 5-30 on my invoice. Probably just a mix-up on their part. Cost wise they charged me $216. $80 for parts and the rest for labor. Decent shop. I could not say they are the best VW Auto shop or the most reasonably priced but they were OK for a nearby shop and needing an oil change. read more

Today has been nasty rainy and cold out, but it's my day off, so I had to go get my car inspected. I was dreading going out. But when I got to Autohaus, I was warmly greeted and told not to worry, that the inspection wouldn't take long. Then the kind man behind the counter said I'm welcome to have some hot coffee or some water and relax while I wait. This guy was so genuinely kind. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes! Exceeds Expectations I came to Autohaus Lake Norman for a pre-purchase inspection on a Porsche Cayman. As I'm from out of state I did some research for this area and Bernard's came up along with others. After visiting the website, a phone call and in person visit once there I felt I made a good decision. Both the Cayman owner and I were very impressed at how thorough the inspection was along with very good and easy to comprehend explanations of the diagnosis and why these were checked. This place has the best customer service ever. At first I was kind of skeptical about bringing my Land Rover here to have a few things fixed, but I'm glad I did. i took my 2004 bmw x3 in because the sunroof stopped working. motor for it needed to be replaced. the price was very reasonable considering bmw said i needed to replace the entire sunroof at $3000. the shop was very organized and staff was very nice. will definitely be back! read more
