My wife and I bought a "certified pre-owned" vehicle from Auto Nation Ford. The vehicle was a recent trade and had yet to go through an Auto Nation safety inspection in order to sell the vehicle. When we test drove the vehicle, we noticed a hard shift, clicking noise, and hesitation with the vehicle. We were assured that the vehicle would be undergo a rigorous safety inspection and be ready upon completion of sale. 7 days later (we lost two vacation days waiting on the vehicle), the vehicle was finally delivered. We were told that back ordered parts were to blame for the delay. To date, we have yet to receive the inspection/repair list. The issue with the hard shift was still present, but we hoped that the recall that had not be repaired would fix the issue. It was not! I called the Auto Nation Ford dealership, and asked to speak with the used car sales manager several times with no contact. I did finally get ahold of another "manager" who failed to identify himself. He stated that our vehicle was sold "as is". After voicing my concern of buying an unserviceable vehicle at the purchase price of $20,000 "as is", the manager reluctantly said he would research and get back to me. A week later, I have heard nothing. We took the Jeep Grand Cherokee that we purchased to Suncoast Jeep/Dodge/Ram to get a diagnosis. The team at Suncoast easily identified the issue and got the vehicle fixed. The team at Suncoast let us know that this issue should have never left the lot and would have been easily caught on a pre sale safety inspection. Auto Nation lost my business forever. Before we left the house I phone him again to make sure if the car still available. He assured me that car is available and even he sent me email to confirm my appointment. Until our latest purchase of our 2015 Explorer coming off a lease. We had a simple request - tell us the APR before we come down to sign. Neither D. Bolton, the salesman, nor Rick Rudd, the finance mgr., could give us a straight answer. "Just come on in, and we'll work it out"...It took five days, and 2 rescheduled closing appointments to get a quote, then they changed it on us, with the excuse that it was due to the age of the car which is a 2015. We are very disappointed!! Every day, I was told, "Rick's almost done, I'll get back to you today".... It was one of the worst transactions we have ever been through. We will never even remotely consider calling on them for anything ever again. They reminded my wife and I of why we dislike car salesmen so much. read more

Well... Time to run through the car purchase wringer. We've become very comfortable with dealing with a salesman at AutoNation Ford of Bradenton. Over the years we purchased or leased 11 vehicles with Kerry but he has retired. We were greeted at the door by a smiling Jeanette Billings. We had done our homework and knew we we wanted an Escape SE with the 2 liter Ecoboost engine. There were plenty to choose from and made our selection. A long time neighbor was a Ford retiree and offered getting a pin for Fords Friends and Family (X Plan) discount. This is where you need to have done your homework on Plan pricing, rebates and finance packages. It could mean several thousand dollars difference in the final price. After applying discounts and rebates we got a deal that couldn't be beat . After seeing the dealers invoice it appears they only made the factory hold back as a profit. I feel Jeanette did everything she could to get the deal we wanted, was very knowledgable on the Escape and now have a new "go to" salesperson at AutoNation of Bradenton. read more

This location is horrible! The service is what changed my mind. I was happy with the car and price, but getting a service scheduled? Forget it! My headlight went out the NIGHT i got the car, I got the run around about setting an appointment up, finally when I got to talk to the service manager I am told that despite them selling multiple cars of the same type they do not work on those because they don't know how and will not work on my car despite the warranty. I had to take it to another dealer where I was charged over 300 dollars to fix it( even better the car was tagged as having this issue and autonation did NOTHING about it!) I called the office again since my papers said my 90 day warranty would cover all costs I am told I would have to take it to another county and then MAYBE they would cover the charge but other than that I was out of luck. When I turned them in they lied stating I have denied their calls since(they have not called me even once!) and that they set up multiple appointments again LIES! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE!! Took car in for factory recall. Cooling sensor and door latches. Upon pick up, car pulled extreme to the right. Had to bring back immediately. Then realized the pickup mileage on paper work was higher than the actual. The sensor recall demanded x amount of mile's be driven to test once installed. This was not done in actuality, though the paperwork again had a different number. Now trust issues have kicked in, as the service managers tells me one thing, though the odometer and paperwork conflict and says something else. I hate catching someone in a non-truth in a professional capacity. Then you don't know what you can or can not believe. Spoke to the GM, and he literally looked at the service guy stating, "So I take it the numbers were accidently written in wrong?" Didn't ask what happened. Told them. They told me the extreme pulling was due to tires being rotated. They changed them back. We went on a test drive with the service manager telling what roads would have a better result. On the very smooth road, middle lane, it did seem a little bit better? He kept telling me I was looking for it now, so that was why it felt that way. What do you say to that? At this point I'm more worried about the sensor situation. When I can, I guess the only thing I can do is forward the photos to Ford home office, and ask if it's all good, and do they have a suggestion. I have no idea at this point. There was a lot of mansplaing, condescending to, and "the wall" of three large men standing over me by the end (one sitting), so by the end there was really nothing I could do. Or think. read more

I took my new F-150 for it's first service, and I have cracks in my front two fog lights that I want to get addressed (which should be covered under warranty). They said that this has to go to Ford for approval, but it's been 3 weeks and I have not heard a thing from AutoNation. I have called in 3 times and left messages (no one ever seems to be available in service when I call), but no one wants to call me back. Poor service, AutoNation. read more

This morning I met with the General Manager of AutoNation Ford, Troy Brown, at his request. I am cautiously optimistic that 1) my car will be fixed 2) he will correct the myriad of service mechanical failures and customer service failures we experienced since buying the car 8/2012 and 3) he offered some future services at no additional charge to accomodate the horrible experiences we have had. Once we have the opporutnity to experience some of these promises I will update my reviews of the dealership. I spent more then 90 minutes with him today and was pleased he listened to what had transpired and will take the opporutnity to address each item with his team. Called for s service appointment to correct the drivers door ajar indication showing continuously on my dashboard and causing all the bells and whistles to sound. They scheduled my service 4 days after my initial phone call. When I arrived, I was met by a very nice customer service representative who immediately told me the name of the service technician who would work on my car. The customer service representative walked me to the customer lounge, offered coffee and cookies. The lounge had leather chairs, big screen TV and plenty magazines to read. My appointment was 7:30. My only complaint is no one came to advise me of the status of my car and the resolution of the issue until 9:20. It was at that time I found out there was a recall issued on my Explorer for the particular issue I had. I never received a recall notice. While at the dealership they informed me of another recall regarding child locks. Nice caring employees, pleasant atmosphere, can be a little better communicating, but a very pleasant experience. read more

Do not use Auto Nation Ford in Bradenton they do not take care of vehicles that have appointments. Had an appointment on Thursday at 9am and I dropped it off Wednesday at 3pm told them I would pick it up on Friday. Called Friday morning was told I would get a call back, never did get a call. I assumed a 20 minute recall fix would be done! When I arrived I waited 30 minutes only to find out they did nothing to fix my recall issue! In my opinion you should stay clear of this dealership! Ford corporate should know how bad this dealership is. Do not buy here! read more

Tom was my service advisor and from the first call was fantastic. I had a defective battery (was having to get a jump) on my 2012 explorer. He was able to get me in the next day. I live 12 miles away and they arranged a ride home. He called 3 hrs later after changing the oil, replacing the battery and fixing the recall item. They actually even drove the car back out to me.
