Work began around that time but was not resolved until May 4th, nearly a month past the original deadline. Even at that point, the issues were significant: the entire right side of the car was not functioning correctly, the DSP inputs were configured wrong, and the speakers were installed in the wrong locations (higher-quality drivers belong in the front doors...). Scheduling delays, largely on DJ's end, pushed things to May 4th, at which point I sought a second opinion. The new shop walked me through the deficiencies in detail and made clear what had been done incorrectly, including a stripped bolt connecting the seat to the floor. Given that I had already paid a substantial sum for substandard work, they were professional and transparent throughout the process and had it done in two days.

I took it to Car Toys in Denton (where I bought it) and since their warranty ran out, they told me it was a pioneer, not as good a product as a Kenwood, etc. keep in mind this Pioneer stereo cost $750 with install the total was close to $1,000, give or take a little. Needless to say, I'm done with Car Toys. Also, look at how many of their stores are closed down or in the middle of closing. Remember the Latin phrase "Caveat emptor."
