You don't get what you pay for! I called in for tracking for the date of arrival. I never received a call back. The truck driver did not complete the door to door. The area of the drop has PLEANTY of space to complete the delivery. Larger trucks have been in and out of this neighborhood. Instead the driver called my son and asked him to meet at a Lowes off the main highway. It was for the convenience of the driver not the customer! I spoke to the manager Laura and all she could do is give lame excuses. I asked for $100.00 ($50.00 for each issue) of my money back for the two services that I paid for and did not get. Would give them 0 stars if I could :-) The most stressful thing about my cross-country move was that I had chosen this company to ship my car. Originally was deciding between AutoStar and Montway (suggested by another friend who had a great experience). Decided to go to with this company. Regrettable decision. Valerie Barriga was the one helping me. A base price is given & you can be charged extra if you pack your car (which i was doing) - its up to the driver whether or not to charge. I gave her all the info & photos needed by the requested dates & said the earliest day they could pick up my car (& my preference) was 1/8 - I was flying out on the 14th. Valerie says it could be Sunday or Monday. I say that's fine, but they get a 5-day window to fulfill your contract I think. 1/6 - Didn't hear from Valerie about anything so I called - she tells me the driver needs to process the paperwork & she'll contact me the next day. 1/7 - No call or update (annoying) so I text her during their business hours for the update. No response. I pack my car anyways - safe to assume my cars not being taken on 1/8. 1/9 - Company texts me saying they're looking for drivers. I call to get clarification as Valerie said on 1/6 the driver just needed to process the paperwork. They only repeat what the text says. 1/10 - I get an email saying the same thing, still haven't heard from Valerie herself. No one calls me. 1/11 - I call her, she doesn't answer so I call the company number. The agent who picks up tells me she sees my contract is being expedited, my car is possibly going to be picked up today, & she'll contact Valerie to call me. Valerie texts me later & says a driver can pick up the car on Friday, deliver it faster (5-6 days instead of 8-9), & is asking for $250 extra; at this point I'm annoyed because my car is going the day before I fly out & Valerie hasn't called me once throughout this whole thing - I've always had to call to get an update on what's happening. Had to ask her myself what happened to the driver they had on Friday because she never even contacted me after that. Asked if the $250 was purely because of extra weight. She said yes, but also because the driver can get it there faster - they never even talked to me about expedited transportation. Unfair that they lumped that in because they're out of their promised 5 day window & would have never disclosed that the extra fee was also because of expedition unless I asked. Regardless, had to agree because I was flying out in 3 days and needed my car to be settled. Too late to switch companies (I looked). I tell her to send me paperwork & i'll sign - she doesn't respond nor does she send the paperwork. 1/12 - Have to text her for an update & call the company, again, because she hasn't responded to me. She texts me later saying they're assigning the driver & my car is now getting picked up Saturday, aka the day I'm flying out to my new home, instead of Friday. Annoyed & frustrated at this point, but don't bother expressing it anymore because I'm on a timeline & just ask her what time. She doesn't know (fine) & told me to leave the key with someone. She tells me she'll let me know of the time when the driver tells her (she never does - shocker) 1/13 - Reached out to the driver myself because at this point Valerie is useless in ever contacting me. 1/14 - Nick (the driver) picks up my car from my contact because I'm at the airport. He texts me as I'm about to takeoff saying he's not charging for the stuff inside - now im confused because Autostar told me the driver asked for an extra $250 to accommodate for the weight. Someone from the drivers company that Autostar contracted calls me and explains that they there is no extra charge because there isn't a lot of stuff. 1/17 - 1/21 - I call Autostar to get an explanation of where the $250 is going if the driver himself is saying there is no charge. Also spoke with his company & they verified that they never told Autostar there'd be an extra charge for weight. His company also says Valerie sucks at answering her phone. When I manage to get ahold of Valerie, she says she'll speak to a manager on a refund - of course she comes back and says they can't. Called to see if they can just give that money as a tip to Nick & what the deposit break down covers because the math wasn't adding up. The agent says Valerie left the office & she'd get a manager to call and address this. Surprise - no one ever calls. Last thing that was exchanged was me asking for the breakdown of the deposit and never being contacted back. I also had to ask them to send documentation of our contract because they don't automatically do that - this should have been the first red flag lol. I had a car that needed to be moved quickly from a dealer's lot in NC to my home in MO. I paid the $195 deposit to AutoStar Transport Express on May 17 and asked that the car be picked up the next day. A week went by and the car was still at the dealer's lot in NC. I made multiple calls to AutoStar; the first call (several days after I made the contract) I was able to reach the rep who I had talked to initially about the contract. He promised that he would call me back that evening for an update; he didn't call. I wasn't able to reach him the next morning, so I called customer service. At that point, I started getting occasional messages that they were looking for someone to transport the car, but it could take several days. A week after I made the contract, I was told they were still looking and there was no assurance that the car would be picked up in the near future. That did it for me; I contacted another carrier, one that *had its own drivers* (Door to Door Transport), and I was able to arrange transport the next day. AutoStar Transport declined to refund my deposit, despite the fact that a week had gone by from the available pick-up date for the car and they had not arranged the promised pick-up. I told AutoStar Transport that I would give them a bad review if they failed to live up to their initial promise of a refund, but they preferred to get the bad review. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Everyone that works here lies. Especially the customer service department and the rep that i dealt with in particular named Demetri. I booked my reservation one month in advance (june 9th). My target pick up date (June 21) and quote of $1050 was calculated by Demetri in order to get my car from California to Virginia by my target date of july 9th. (Remember this detail) As my target date approached, I never heard not one word from this company or received any emails they promised i would get when a driver was near or available to pick up my car. My target date came and went, i called Demetri and he told me not to worry, hes working on it. 10 days past my pick up date still no pickup and my azz is now in Virginia without a car. Demetri would promise to call me back but wouldn't. When i tried to facilitate my refund with customer service they would claim they had to transfer me first to speak with Demetri but somehow the calls never went thru. This went on for days.... When I finally got thru by lying and claiming I was requesting a quote I spoke to other reps and they would claim they could not help me because my case was handled by Demetri and my case needs to be addressed by the father of lies himself! So I got smart and I catch this dude off guard by calling his direct line blocked at the start of his shift and he begins to tell me the reason why he hasn't been returning my calls is because he had a family emergency. Whether his family situation is true or not, i cannot confirm nor deny, but i can confirm this company is shady because Demetri tells me the reason why my car is not getting picked up by a trucker is because the price (that he and Auto Star transport express LLC) quoted me was to low and truckers need more money for that route. So he wanted my permission to raise the price!! These people wanted me to Pay them more money to guarantee my car to get picked up!!! Even after its now 12 days past my target date and will take another 7-10 business to get to me!!!! I was done at this point and demanded my refund of the deposit which was $150 which I was told it would be refunded in 3 to 5 days. I have yet to receive my refund. Now Auto Star transport has A) managed to rob me of money, and B) force me to spend more money since i have to now find time to fly back to California to retrieve my car, and obtain a rental in the meantime to get to work. After I did my research with multiple quotes and felt Autostar was a great company, they fell short. Prior to booking I read many great reviews and had a great experience as I talked through quote & steps with agent. However, after that I had a very stressful experience once I booked and gave the required deposit. They reassured me they could locate a carrier from our area to AZ in plenty of time. I called 12 days prior to needing car in final destination. Once booked they gave me very little updates that stressed me out for a week. After 9 days (well after the pick up range) they then asked me to pay an additional 230.00 to get it handled. AutoStar put me in a very tough position. They should have been upfront with me earlier that there could be a chance you would have to increase my rate. We had a very good experience with Autostar. We needed a car transported from Texas to Massachusetts. We were quoted $725, with $200 to Autostar and $525 in cash or cashier's check to the driver upon delivery. Our dates were flexible, and we were informed about when the driver would pick up the car in Texas. According to my mother-in-law, who was at the pickup location, Pedro was very friendly. He let us know he would be here in 3 days. On the third day, he told us he would deliver around 4pm. At 5pm he called to say his truck had broken down, and he would be here the following day. When we did don't hear from him by 2pm, we called him. He was still broken down, about an hour away from us, and could deliver the following day. Rather than waiting, we drove the hour to him and picked up the car there. We told Pedro precisely what time we would arrive, and he was not there. We waited 10-15 minutes for him, and then he arrived. He was very nice, we got the car and drove home. Other than the lack of communication on the 2nd day we expected delivery, this was a very good experience. read more

We transported a Class B motor-home from Florida to central Texas and it arrived safely 48 hours after it was picked up. AutoStar didn't provide the lowest quote, nor were they the highest. However, they were more professional and honest - one of the lower bidders advertised that they were BBB members but were not. I felt I got my money's worth and for transporting an expensive and heavy RV, that's what mattered. We have never shipped a car before and had to ship a car from Florida to Maine. It is always confusing if it's your first time doing something like this. Our car got picked up on Thursday and was waiting for us in Maine on Monday when we arrived. The car was an excellent shape and the driver did it detailed report before he took the car from us. The rep who I worked with was very knowledgeable and patient and answered all of my questions and answered all of my emails. We were so thankful to not have to drive cross country to get the car to Maine and just had to hop on the plane and have the car waiting for us. I would recommend their service. read more
