Not only is David extremely knowledgeable, and well equipped with tools, but also a master of his craft. Don't think twice, just pay him a visit for keys or any electronics that need repair in your vehicle. All at a fair price!

(cross-posting from my google review!)…read more David is a total genius with cars and such a genuinely kind person. I needed to change the locks on my car after the spare key was stolen. I did the usual thing: looked up reviews, sent out requests through Google and Yelp, and got back a flood of responses and calls. It was overwhelming, but after speaking with a few companies, David immediately stood out. He was the only one who came across as a true expert, and he freely shared detailed information just to be helpful, even before I'd committed to working with him. I got a great vibe right away. Even though I live in Seattle, I drove out to his business in Sammamish to get my car worked on. Because of the particular situation with my car, he had to order parts and went 1000% above and beyond throughout the process. I trusted him with my car, and the service he provided was just outstanding and the best car experience I've ever had. He got the job done perfectly, and his communication every step of the way was fantastic. It was also clear just how passionate and skilled he is at his work - to the point that other car service shops will call him for jobs that are too difficult for them. I would recommend David without hesitation to anyone, and if I ever need car work done again, he will be the first person I call. He's not just running a business - he's an honest person who clearly has a passion for cars and will become an expert at anything. He truly cares about his customers. Thank you so much David!

I always wanted a front and rear camera in my Lexus 450H SUV but have concerns over getting it…read moreproperly installed. This business was recommended by my auto mechanic. My primary concern is that an improper installation could affect the integrity of my side curtain airbags which shoot off from the A pillar all the way down the interior roof line. I believe it is dangerous to tuck wires using tools that come with self install packages because they most certainly will be in the path of the air bags. A professional installation is well worth the price in a case like this. I believe the only way to professionally install these is to do a partial tear down by removing the A pillar cover and releasing the ceiling panel on one side of the car. Their installation charges were reasonable after subtracting out the retail cost of my cameras; so I had concerns if that would cover a proper partial teardown. I called and requested them to send me a couple of camera system options they sell as I preferred them to install a system they are familiar with. I also made an appointment for the installation. The camera system I selected was the Momento M8 Max 8400. When I arrived, they had the estimate in their system, but not the appointment I made. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate me during that visit. I asked to speak with the tech. I met the tech and he said he has installed these for many years. I asked the tech to walk me through how he plans to install the cameras and he explained everything he planned to do. I requested photos of the install while the panels were removed which the tech took. Upon completion of the work, they emailed me the photos taken by the tech and the salesperson helped me setup the camera app on my smartphone before I paid them. The tech removed the A pillar panel and released the roof panel and ran the wires behind the air bag devices. The installation was extremely professional. When I raised my rear tailgate, there were no visible wires as the tech ran them inside the factory cable housing connected to the power rear hatch opener. There were no visible power connections to the camera as those connections were made inside the paneling below my dashboard with photos provided. The end result is that it looks like the cameras were always part of the SUV installed at the Lexus factory. This business greatly exceeded my expectations.

I recently posted a review for Waves of Olympia. After enduring a decade long harassment from…read moreCarToys, I thought it would be a public service to leave detailed reviews for my experiences not only to inform you of what to look out for, but to ensure CarToys is aware, that they chose the wrong person to underserve. My story starts in 2013. I recently bought a used vehicle to commute to work and since it was a decade old at the time, it had the original factory cassette deck. Nobody was rocking with Cassettes in 2013, CD's were still the standard and Bluetooth was just coming online to pair your phone. I waited for one of CarToys Free Installation events to maximize savings. The salesperson showed me several deck and explained the differences and I selected an Alpine deck. I didn't expect them to be able to install same day, so I wasn't prepared. I scheduled to have the installation done 2 days later and returned. I'm no stranger to stereo installation and again back in 2013, single din decks were standards, so installation or a head unit swap in most cases was an hour, but no more than 90 minutes. After being there a couple hours, I asked for an update, because I could see my car in the shop, but no one was working on it. I got the runaround for about 45 minutes, then the salesperson told me. He had put my name on the deck with a sold sticker, but someone took it so they didn't have a deck to install. I explained that was theft. I paid for something, it belonged to me and you sold it to someone else. There was an upgraded deck by Alpine, pretty much the same unit, but with a small power boost. I requested that be installed at no additional cost. A conversation took place with employees, and I was told, someone would drive to another location to get the deck I paid for and they would install it. About 90 minutes later, someone returned with the deck and about an hour after that the install was complete, so with some rough math. An installation that should have taken about an hour took 6. My entire evening was shot, and I had just enough time to get home and go to bed. The power on the stereo cut in and out and it kept dropping the Bluetooth connection. I came back to CarToys that weekend and the shop manager told me everything looked good and maybe there was an issue with my car. That entire week, the issue persisted, but I had no other issues with my car. I checked with two independent stereo shops in the area and both refused to look at my car, they both said Southcenter CarToys had a reputation for sabotaging customer cars and they didn't want to pulled into that drama. At that point, I decided to go to Bellevue CarToys, I had used them in the past without issue and it's Bellevue. You don't play with Bellevue Resident's, because if they don't have an attorney on retainer they will certainly hire one. When they inspected my car, they asked if I tampered with the installation. Confused, I asked what they meant, and the installation manager showed me the deck and there was a clean cut through installation wires. I laughed and said, no way would I do that, he said "Sabotage", and it was clear to me they were aware of the reputation of Southcenter. I told him that there was a pair of wire cutters on the passenger floor. They aren't mine. Southcenter left those in my car after the installation They took photo's said they would request an investigation and scheduled me to come back to have everything inspected and reinstalled. I didn't hear anything, so I called the CarToys office, I couldn't get anyone on the phone for two days, so I drove down there and camped in the lobby. When it was clear I wasn't leaving a gentleman invited me in. He was a Regional Manager, and he listened to my story and also advised that he had heard from Bellevue and that he had provided instruction to another manager to resolve my issue, but it was clear this person had not followed through. He did mention that an investigation took place at Southcenter and although they admitted no guilt or liability, he assured me, several people who were employed during the time my installation was done were no longer employed by CarToys. The manager he put in charge did not follow through with me and a couple weeks later I had to camp out in their lobby again. This time, when he came out. He apologized again and told me to go directly to Bellevue and I would be taken care of. So many awful things here. I have no idea why anyone would behave that way. It's been more than a decade and I'd assume no one that worked there in 2013 is still there, but as I review other locations, everything circled back to Southcenter, so feel free to check out my entire CarToys review series. Other location involved in my experience are Bellevue, Issaquah, Burlington and Federal Way. Totem Lake was also involved but that location no longer exists, so it can't be reviewed.

The dash cam powers on, but the parking monitoring clearly doesn't work. The lighting install was even worse. I was told I must have a "short" in my running lights. When I brought the vehicle back, I showed them exactly what was happening: press the brake, the running lights turn on; release the brake, they turn off. That is NOT normal. The installer literally said, "I've never seen that before," which is wild coming from someone whose job is wiring vehicles. His "fix"? Tie everything into the blinker module and call it good. When I questioned it, he offered to wire the lights so they're always on--completely defeating the purpose of how these lights are designed to function. All I asked for was simple: when the headlights are on, the amber lights should be on. Instead of fixing it, he accused me of giving "three different stories" and talked to me like I didn't know what I was saying. That's insulting and unprofessional. When I asked if this was the best they could do, the answer was basically, "different people wire things differently." Translation: we don't know how to fix it. I finally walked out because it was clear they weren't interested in doing the job correctly--just getting paid. Overpriced, sloppy work, zero accountability, and disrespectful service. I will never return to Foss Audio and strongly recommend taking your money literally anywhere else.

It's almost comical that these people continue to operate a business, albeit, not a legitimate one,…read morein my opinion. I have had the unfortunate experience of working with them for 3 years until finally switching. To start, read all of the other reviews, including the reviews that are "not recommended". This should give you some validity of at least two things: 1. Several people have left this business due to, what I would consider, the worst customer service I can remember (mostly in reference to the woman, Linda, behind the counter). 2. They are flaky on their knowledge and prices. Initially, when I came into this business, my experience was very similar to what could be considered a bad experience at the DMV. Employees have no real interest in their job, and seem to be annoyed with what are probably common questions. After completing my installation, I had a few questions. When I proceeded to ask a question, Linda proceeded to talk over me, in her standard form. Her response was "You weren't listening". At this point, I became a little frustrated. I don't believe she had answered my question, and even so, this is not prison and I am a paying customer. For the next few years, I just continued to put in effort on my part just to keep a good rapport with them, as silly as it is to have to put in effort to make a business you are patronizing happy when they are, in general, rude and condescending (as another user writes). I show up for my appointments, pay my fees, and be on my way. One time, I had my handset reset it's timer, for no known reason. These situations are where you are really going to lose out by choosing to do business here. I called and explained my situation. After coming in, it was determined that their equipment had run out of storage, costing me a day off work and a trip to their shop. Ultimately, it was a tolerable experience, which could have been handled better, but nothing egregious other than Linda's foul demeanor, which I had grown somewhat used to by this point. My final interaction with this business involved another incident where I needed support. After returning from a trip to Hawaii, I entered my vehicle and attempted to activate my handset. The unit had indicated "No Base". I called up the shop and reached Linda. I explained my situation, in which she replied "Your battery is dead". I went on to explain that all of my accessories were working without issue. In the middle of this explanation, in true Linda form, she began talking to me, as if I were a child, right over my conversation. "Your battery is dead or the is something wrong with your vehicle." I have become frustrated with the service. I am not speaking offensively, but I am no longer being a patient and nice person. I said I would hook up my battery charger to the car and call back if I was still having issues. She asked me my name and hung up before I could realize it. I charged my vehicle for 20 mins. After calling back, she states, if the battery gets low, I may need to disconnect the battery and reconnect it to reset it, or tow the vehicle in. I gave her some frustrated advice on the level of support and service I was receiving before hanging up. I do her recommended action, which solved my issue, and my vehicle started up without any problems. At this point, I can't stress the level of utterly horrifying service I have experienced. I make a call back, this time talking to Curtis (who I have generally gotten along with in the past). I explain to him that my issue was resolved, but I would like to schedule a removal, as I have no interest in continuing with their services, as it is a risk and I have been highly offended. Ultimately, when I came in to have my interlock removed, I was told that he had listened to the recordings of the phone conversation and that I was "pretty rude" and that he "didn't have to do business with me". I was clear that we had a difference in opinion, and he went on to state that he didn't even have to remove it, and could send me up to Lynnwood to have it removed (after I already showed up to a scheduled meeting). He ultimately agreed to remove it, and charged me an additional $50 dollar fee for removal, next to the $0 standard fee for removal. He proceeded to show me a load test of my battery, which was in the "warn" and not important to this situation, but clearly proved nothing, given that the vehicle is not under a starting load of hundreds of amps when using the equipment, and still starts without issue. He says he's glad to see me go. I don't like to trash talk, but this is a trash company, run by trash people. Save yourself 5 minutes starting your vehicle, a monthly trip, and a monumental headache by choosing a different provider. The previous reviews should prove my story credible. Looking forward to my "review" that Curtis promised to give me after indicating I would speak my opinion in this public forum. Idiot. Cheers!
