I placed an order online last night for pick up. I kept checking and there was no update on the order. Finally, I was about to call and check on the order. I logged in online and checked and one of my items had been returned. I called the store to ask about it and they said it was out of stock. I ask if anybody was gonna let me know that it wasn't available, and then they transferred me to somebody else. I asked the next person if anybody was gonna was going to let me know that my item was out of stock. Rudely he asked if I was gonna pick up the rest of my order. I said it was still processing and he asked me, do I want my items or not. I was flabbergasted by the rudeness of every employee that I spoke with. So I said, no I don't want any of my order return it and I hung up the phone. Now I am heading to O'Reilly to get my items. I then received a phone call, from autozone to tell me that they don't have the battery. I explained to them that I already talked to rude people at the store and no, they don't have it. Then, they told me that the order came through again. I said I did not place that same order again. Then, they told me it came through again.I said I did not place it and hung up the phone. To follow up.... 3 hours later a very nice employee from Autozone called to let me know that my order was ready. I explained very rude employee's told me multiple times it was not in fact available and issued a refund. I let them know I already had a battery from O'Reilly installed in my car. read more

So I called autozone on fair oaks Blvd in Carmichael around 6:30 PM tonight and asked questions about needing a battery replaced. The women who answered the phone was not pleasant and sounded like she needed to get off the phone. I can understand someone being busy because believe me my line of work is very demanding, but my patience would never know it or hear it over the phone. When I was telling her the make and model of my car, she asked the engine size, I didn't know it so I asked how do I find this out? She replies with pop your hood and there's a piece of paper underneath the hood and you'll find it...... I said OK I guess I'll give you a call back. She said OK and hung up the phone. I called back and she answered again and let her know the size of the engine and then she says yes we have the battery that fits your car it's &259 plus tax. I told her I can't afford that battery. I need to get the cheapest you have. She replies with a huff...well if you're going to get the cheapest one I can't install it today. You'll have to wait a week. And it's hot outside it won't hold a charge I said so if I were to purchase the expensive battery, you would be able to install it today.?? And she says ok these are the expensive batteries that we have...she must not have understood what I said, because she started naming all these batteries and giving me all the prices for these batteries and naming all the benefits for these batteries. I ended up interrupting her and I told her look I am a single mom on a single income, trying to support my family. I CANNOT afford the expensive one so I need to go with the one that can afford. She says all right. You'll have to bring it down to see if I can even change it out because there are some batteries we can't do..... After that phone call, it completely rubbed me the wrong way. She was rude, and I couldn't believe the things that were coming out of her mouth to be honest. i could tell that the woman knew I was irritated, especially after I asked about buying the more expensive battery and installing it today because she did try to backtrack and try to be nice but it was a little too late., when she made the comment about me buying the cheap battery there was no coming back from that. it's like look, lady. I know that buying the cheap stuff isn't always the best but when you can't afford it, you can't afford it, when I'm trying to keep a roof over my child's head and food in their belly sometimes you gotta go with the cheaper alternatives So I called O'Reilly RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET gave them my car information and they were able to look up my car and let me know that you know what it says it may be difficult to install but bring it down here anyways and let's see what we can do because I can normally do it, and we do you have batteries in store that fit your car. They were never rude on the phone. They didn't sound like they were trying to get me off the phone.... So I Went to O'Reilly they had the battery and they were able to install it in the same day ...AND IN THE HEAT!!! They never tried to upsell me on the more expensive batteries, they gave me a few batteries to choose from and gave me their prices. Once I picked the one that I wanted they never gave me a hard time about it being the cheapest battery. They rung me up. I paid and they changed out the battery all in under 30 minutes. I will never go to AutoZone again , or at least not the one on fair Oaks Boulevard. I really wish I would've got the woman's name so I can put it in this review. And I can guarantee you when the managers talk to her about these reviews. I'm about to leave on yelp and Google. She's going to remember this conversation with me. But I'm sure she will talk her way out of it. read more

My bf didn't bring the correct tools to take out his old battery out of the car and the worker inside was able to come out to assist with their own tools. He was super helpful and nice and was able to take out the old battery and also put in the new one. read more

AutoZone was a great help last week. I woke up to my battery dead in my highlander and really corroded. I was able to get a jump from a neighbor and get my two girls to school, but I was worried because I was scheduled to drive up to 6 kiddos on a field trip in about an hour after their school drop off!! I drove right over to AutoZone - they manager there was so nice and he came out to see my battery - tested it (really low like none left) and it was so corroded - he cleaned that off and tried to remove it - but the corrosion was so bad that it was moving on to the bracket that holds the battery and unfortunately, that required a repair from a car mechanic. He was able to give me another jump so I could drive across the street to Jiffy Lube to get the repair (that review also will be posted - all good). I wanted to buy the battery from Autozone (and did but later had to return it) but Jiffy Lube wouldn't accept other batteries :/ When I returned it they were very nice and understood. Did I make it on the field trip? Nope. Because of the repair that was needed, it was too late. But that had nothing to do with AutoZone - they were WONDERFUL! Thank you! read more

I had the best experiences with manager Erin!! I came in to get a diagnostic test done on one of my vehicles, as well as to purchase jumper cables. I didn't see any on the wall I was directed to, so I asked Erin if there were any in the back at all, and unfortunately there wasn't. He care enough to ask about the situation I was in, and when I explained that I just needed to jump one of my other cars at my house a few minutes down the road in order to get it to a car shop, he went out on a limb for me and allowed me to borrow their shops jumper cables!! It is rare to come across someone who is willing to put their trust in a complete stranger, so it is not something I take lightly. The cables worked beautifully, and I returned them. The following day, I ended up needing to bring the car in that I just had to jump the day prior in for a diagnostic test as well, and the car started up just fine to get me there. When he plugged the device in, the device wouldn't do a reading on the vehicle. Erin could've simply said it isn't working and walked away, but instead, he took the time to investigate the problem, and moved some plugs around in the control panel, which enabled the device to do the reading. I was so grateful for all his help, and went to leave. Well...the car didn't start. I came back into the store and let Erin know my car now won't start back up again, as I had nobody nearby to come and give me a jump to get home. At this point I felt like the biggest "problem customer" in the universe, but he didn't make me feel as such whatsoever! He gladly did what he had to do to get my car started back up! Mind you, he was still taking care of other customers while all this was happening, and the car not starting back up was definitely a "me problem" that he certainly didn't have to help with, but he gladly insisted to. I am blown away by Erin's customer service, and caring heart to help out his customers! I will only be coming to this Auto Zone location from here on out! THANK YOU ERIN!!! I was very disappointed in the service, prices and selection. Where to stand in line to check out is unclear. I waited almost 10 minutes carrying a number of things and all the males in front of and behind me were attended first. I finally bought $150 worth of things, the Carwash next door helped me try to get the things to work on my car. Everything was terrible! I returned everything. The Carwash said they hear lots of bad things about this Auto Zone. The manager who helped me get things returned was courteous enough. I made a joke about my not being a b*** everywhere, just in this Autozone. He didn't laugh. He said I didn't seem pleased with the service I received. I would say that is true. If you have an extra minute or two to go somewhere else I would recommend it. My husband and I will never shop here again! read more

I usually go to O'Reily but since this AutoZone was closer to where I was and I didn't trust my car going much further, I made the mistake of stopping here. I knew I had a battery issue and went in asking for them to check it. The female clerk walked out and immediately told me before reaching my car that if the cables were coroded they would not spend the time cleaning them since there was only two (I seen three) people working at that time. It would be best to wait until you open the hood before you start refusing service. She tested the battery and told me she couldn't tell if the battery was bad or good so it needed to sit and charge for an hour and a half. Once I agreed to wait, she took a second look and decided she needed to get a second opinion since there was a plastic casing on top of the battery that she has never seen before. After about 5-7 minutes a male came out and told me they couldn't do anything about it. I called my brother and he came out to clean the cables. The mysterious plastic casing came off with a quick snap. There was no customer service. I do need a battery but will be taking my business elsewhere. I'd rather drive further for better customer service. I only gave two stars because a different associate let us borrow some tools without a problem. The other two should get some training from him on what customer service is. read more
