I wanted to give a shout out to the guys at O'Reilly Auto Parts Store in Carmichael. This is the only auto parts store I ever go to. I'm not a mechanic so I don't need auto parts very often, but when I do need anything... this is where I go. The sales associates are more than just sales associates they're extremely helpful and knowledgeable and go out of their way to help me every time. I can always count on them to steer me in the right direction. I realized tonight that I had a headlight out. I stopped at the O'Reilly's on Fair Oaks Blvd in Carmichael to get a new bulb. Not that I had any idea what I needed or how to put it on my car, because I was clueless. They greeted me as I came in with a friendly smile. I told him what kind of car I have and what I needed. They had a price for me and the bulb I needed within a couple minutes. While I was paying for the bulb, the nice man that worked there was outside installing the new bulb for me at no cost. This isn't the first time they've helped me actually put the part that I bought in my vehicle. With people like this that are so helpful and knowledgeable... Why would I go anywhere else? I've probably been to this location at least 10 times over the years and have always had an excellent experience. read more

I must be used to older style parts stores. You know, the ones with angry, unhelpful employees? These folks are the opposite. They greet you upon entering, ask what you are looking for, if they happen to be out of stock, they search for your part at other locations. Free tool rental (with deposit), rewards program and fantastic customer service. Quick story - I complained to the guy that was ringing me up, "Not sure why I'm using the rewards program, it never saves me any money." He let me know that rewards are emailed. I had over $70 in rewards! But since I'd never seen them to use them, they'd deactivated my account. Customer service not only deactivated, but renewed all those expired rewards! Super friendly staff! I always feel intimated when entering an auto parts store but not this one! Every single staff member I spoke with or came across was very friendly. I had the pleasure of having Eon as my tech/helper today. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in layman's terms. He did a battery check and helped me purchase a new one and installed it for me as well. I had failed my smog earlier and Eon let me know what I need to do before going back in getting that retested. I didn't know how to install them but I wanted to learn and Mike helped me put them in and showed me how to do It as well. I was very thankful for receiving such great customer service. Visited this store and they deserve 1 star maximum. All due to they had a customer who is not white american and they were trying to sell more expensive stuff. Every question or opinion person had they were were responding with negative comeback making that person look and feel like a liar and idiot. This store has some of the stupidest employees I know I was standing there and the lady working there started helping somebody else after I had already been standing there a few minutes waiting for help and then decided to tell the guy she's hoping that her computer doesn't show how much oil you put in a car and what kind of oil he needs so she needs to know what kind of oil he needed and Filter needed because she's not able to tell horrible horrible service too After sitting there and waiting and her helping other people I ended up just leaving there were two or three other employees in there who were just walking around not even offering to help customers waiting read more

Wow..this location has the rudest, most incompetent and dishonest employees I have ever encountered anywhere. Bought an over-priced battery ($150) here for my wife's Ford Escape. At least they install for "free", right? Assistant manager looks at her car and says he has to remove windshield wiper and engine cowling to get at the battery and "it's a hassle" but he's willing to do it if we agree to give him a "generous tip" - not kidding. He says, "I'll leave it up to you to decide what generous means." I need the battery so we tell him fine, how long? 1/2 hour is his answer. We run an errand and return in 1/2 hour to find him still fumbling with the car. He had installed the battery but it's pretty obvious he can't figure out how to reinstall the cowling and wipers. He spends another 1/2 hour messing with it and even gets another employee to assist but they cannot figure it out. Wipers now flop around like broken arms. I tell him I'll have Midas fix it and bring him the bill and he agrees to "make it right." Midas tech correctly reinstalled cowling and blades and charges only $57 for 1/2 hour of labor. I returned to OReilly and show assistant manager the bill. He offers to pay 1/2 of it in cash or says I can return in 10 days for a refund check. I remind him he promised to make it right and tell him I'll be back for my check. I returned 2 weeks later and this time I meet the store manager. She tells me there is no check waiting and it was her idea to only reimburse 1/2 of the $57 and her district manager agreed, since they "only touched one of the 2 wipers!" I was stunned. I began to explain that I only chose to buy the overpriced battery because of the "free" installation and had no issues with the wipers until her employee messed with the car. When I told her he had said he expected a "generous tip," she took $57 cash out of the register and said, "there, we're even." No apology.. I have never been treated so rudely anywhere in my life. Sold me a used part and didn't accept my return when I brought it back. I never installed or even took the part out of the bag. When I purchased it they noticed that the other one they had in inventory looked like it had been used and they wondered how that got through, and yet they still held me responsible for their failure to inspect it when it was returned in the first place. Check any parts you buy from them right there in the store because they do not accept responsibility, or just go to AutoZone like I will be doing from now on. read more

I was rear-ended last fall, and the driver broke my rear passenger taillight cover. My brake light was also not working. The other driver's insurance company had been extremely slow to respond. A friend ordered a new taillight cover. I brought it to O'Reilly Auto Parts as I had neither the expertise to replace either the cover or the bulb. Breanna and Marvin to the rescue! It was a tough job because the driver had jammed the cover, making it harder to remove than it should have been. Breanna and Marvin were successful in locating all the right tools, which took a few tries. Moreover, they were so kind and patient. Marvin got the brake light working again as well. I have been to several O' Reilly stores, and while most have very helpful staff, Marvin and Breanna went way beyond the call of duty today! I'm a life-long customer!! Thank you!!! read more

I just had the best experience at this location of O'Reilly Auto Parts!!! We just bought a 2011 Lexus 6 months ago and the check engine light went on as well as the anti-skid light. Rick went out with their OBD unit, which is a code meter, and read what was possibly wrong with the car. He was so helpful and kind, doing his best to help us!!! There was no charge!! How amazing!! I am so impressed! My (elderly) father went in to this location today to buy a new battery. The young man (blonde, very friendly) noticed that it was an O'reilly battery and suggested that he test the battery before selling my dad a new one. Sure enough, the battery was fine, held a charge...turns out that on a recent visit to the mechanic the battery was left out for too long and lost its charge completely. This salesman had an easy sale for a new battery. Instead, he did the right thing and earned a whole family of customers...we'll never go anywhere else for our auto parts needs. Great experience and (unfortunately) not the norm these days. Way to go...we'll be back! And BTW they did not charge my father a dime : ) read more

I hate leaving bad comments but thus far this store has screwed up twice big time. First they sold me the wrong oil for my first diesel truck, even tho I gave them the make and model wtf. No worries I flush the engine pay for new oil because the manager at this point has no clue where she screwed up/ hum. I give them the benefit of the doubt. So I buy an optima battery from them just so it can die in less than two years wth? Get an exchange just so the same shit happened again less than two years later. So today the two jerks at the counter took their sweet time to tell me to hunt down a store manager to figure out if I can get a replacement for a battery that's still under warranty. My car broke down on the side on the road and I have no ability to get it fixed again and such a terrible terrible day and I walked in oreillys pick up my part I needed. They help with Professional Knowledge on how I could best fits my vehicle and after their store close one of their employees even rolled up and was essential in helping me get my vehicle back on the road. They have exceptional customer service at just simply can't be beat I would like to specifically mention Russell as he is the employee that help me be able to get to work today. I've been here quite a few times since it's close to my house and convenient. They always have great customer service and are very helpful. On my most recent visit, I was attempting to navigate on my own but was quickly helped, which was much appreciated. Wow just talked to aaron on the phone at o reillys to get a can of por 15, appearantly he does not realise that is the products name. So aaron preceded to get indignant and rude as he snidly said "is it a paint code or a product number." I came back with the same attitude he gave me and said, "Its paint like in a F***in can." He hung up on me. This is what their customer service has turned into now that mike has left. I called back because I still need what I called for and of course now hes all puffy chested over the phone telling me he hung up because I cursed at him... EVERY MECHANIC EVER CURSES!!! I have been here several times cause it is close to my house and it's open later then the one on marconi. Every time i go there i think to myself, "why do I keep going here". The store is disorganized and the help doesn't even know where things are. I was looking for a 12V outlet last time I was in there, the guy had no clue where they were in the store. He searched his computer looking for them, I had to tell him alternate names to search, ie- cigarette lighter, and he still had no luck. He wasted a good 20 minutes of my time. I went to the one on macroni and asked for the same thing, the new exactly where they were and I was out of the store in less then two minutes. They need better help at this store. read more
