The salesman we started with was very inexperienced and knew very little about the vehicle we were test driving. He originally offered a set discount on the price but after two other managers got involved they declined to agree. They also said they could not provide the paperwork for the in house inspection they claimed to have done stating it was paper only and they did not know where it was kept. I would recommend anyone doing business here to take cars to a third party for inspection. read more

I already told you that they're THIEVES, and so low as to actually steal the spare change out of my car, among other things. This place is SO incompetent that it took them 32 days to diagnose a bad spark plug. AND that's after they elevated this to regional service multiple times. I can NOT stress enough just how sad and incompetent that is. AND NOW I've found out they did a BUNCH of unauthorized work, which their service tech says I approved. I assure you there is no approval in text or writing or vocally that approves ANYTHING beyond the initial estimate. I took my 2003 Miata here that needed its computer replaced. After being told it was irreparable by the Roseville Miata dealer. They fixed the timing, computer and a few other issues to finally get the check engine light to shut off. Expensive, but worth the cost. -1 star because they put the sway bar on backwards, which caused the hood to buckle (not permanently) While they did fix it, they didn't own up to what they did, which was disappointing. The counter rep made up some story about hinge alignment. (I figured out what happened when I accidentally did the same thing weeks later.) I take care of most part repairs myself, but when I'm over my head with the Miata, I will most likely come back here. I definitely won't be back to the Roseville Miata. read more

Horrible experience today trying to lease a 2024 CX-5 with the sales person J.J. Super pushy and kept wanting to pull our credit at the end without giving us a breakdown of what the potential estimate monthly payment would be compared to Elk Grove Mazda location. We went to Elk Grove Mazda yesterday and they were upfront about all costs and what we would pay monthly (best estimate is all we asked for) without pulling credit. Today we called this location and JJ said it would be $500 out the door over the phone, then changed it to $1000 when we came in office. Total bait and switch. Probably thought we looked young and inexperienced but this is not our first rodeo. Overall, experience was poor and he was your typical pushy sales man that we feared when looking into buying and selling this year. We left this office annoyed, felt belittled, and time wasted. FYI we went back to Elk Grove Mazda straight after leaving this location, and leased a car same day just solely based on the customer service we experienced. Probably would've paid a little less at this location, but not with the person who helped us. JJ's last words was "I'm just trying to make a deal". lol we left and he pretty much stormed out of his office and didn't even shake our hand or walked us out. Definitely lost us as customers and future referrals. Even if you're a seasoned salesman, a little customer service goes a long way. This time last week I wasn't even thinking about buying a new car, but a service visit turned up a costly repair on my 2017 Mazda 3 hatchback. Well, I was not pleased, that's for sure, BUT having been a customer of Maita Mazda since June 2017, I have always been pleased with their customer service and ethical treatment. The service Department immediately connected me with a salesman, Joe Perez, and turned this anxious "senior" woman into a smiling customer with a beautiful Mazda certified pre-owned CX-30. Joe stuck with me through all my questions and concerns, and didn't blink an eye when at the very last minute (paperwork was almost finalized) I changed my mind on the first vehicle I was going to buy because...well...I wanted a pretty color. Yeah, I'm that woman! He didn't even register a hint of annoyance and he came in for me on his day off! He wanted me to walk out the door with a smile on my face, and that's exactly what happened. I love my new car and want to say thank you to Joe for never once making me feel I was an annoyance (I'm pretty certain I was) but he smiled through it all...and a heartfelt smile, too. Was contacted by Randy after going through the Costco Car buying program for a new CX-50 Hybrid. They were running a special for $3,800 off all remaining 2025 CX-50s. Told Randy I would come in a few days. Two days later I came in but Randy was out. Mike was helping me once I came in. Ended up finding out that special actually ended the day prior. The website however still had the Maita Price assuming $3,800 off. When I asked why I wasn't told about this or why Randy didn't tell me, Mike just simply said he wouldn't have known. Mike then proceeded to say that they simply hadn't updated the price yet on their website. So either they're incompetent or malicious or a mixture of both. It felt like a complete bait and switch and I'll just simply go to Mazda Roseville instead since they've always taken care of me. After I left they of course updated the price on the website. I started out having a bad experience at this dealership. The first and subsequent times I came in, the front desk person...who is right in front of the door, was facing the opposite direction. If you are the first thing customers see when they open the door, you probably should be facing towards them to greet them. I thought it was a one off, but the two or three times I came back, she was persistently facing with her back to the entrance. Kind of weird. Also, the first time I went, there were 3-4 young sales people standing next to each other, facing toward me and stood there just looking at me and didn't greet me for maybe a minute or two. Weird. Whether you perceive me to be a serious buyer or not, I expect a smile and a greeting to ask me if I can be helped. When one finally did, that was the guy who I initially ended up working with. (Though he didn't seem that friendly.) He didn't seem to know that much about the vehicle I was interested in and not particularly engaged with me. When I came back the second time (about a month later), he was there and I decided to continue to engage with him not because I liked my experience with him, but because I felt I should since he spent some time with me the first time. As we sat down to do the paperwork, his attitude became increasingly rude and condescending towards me. This included when I asked if I could have the quote he printed out with the total price, he said flatly, "no." I decided to step away. After a conversation with one of the managers on the phone about wanting to work with someone else, I was fortunately, happily accomodated by one of the managers to connect with a new salesperson. I ended up working with Olin, who was FANTASTIC. He was friendly, polite and considerate. It was great to pick his brain and get well informed insight from a passionate Mazda fan who believes in the product and has his own. I recommend people ask for Olin there. He turned my experience around and you know what? I got the car I was eyeing and have been enjoying my new ride so far. This is something to keep in mind...though that dealership has one of largest selections and fairest prices you might find for Mazdas in the Sacramento region, the customer experience makes a big difference. I won't exactly be able to tell you why my initial experience with sales was poor, but I can tell you that every person who walks in your business door is a potential customer and should be treated with the courtesy of someone who is going to give you their hard earned money. You want their money more than they need to give you their business. This pretty much goes from a zero star experience to a 4 star experience due to Olin, and two of the managers at the site. read more

I recently was tasked with helping my older father find a in town daily driver CUV because of my experience buying multiple cars for myself, friends and family members the last few years. I found a perfect CPO CX-5 that would check off all the boxes. So I called the dealership since I'm out of state. Julio answered and I let him know the circumstances and that no financing was needed. I let him know I'd be negotiating because my parents detest the car buying process and hate waiting around. He was easy to work with, friendly, courteous and professional. (5 stars) Fast forward to the next day when they brought the cashier's check in and picked up the car. They had made an appointment with another sale team member when they signed the paperwork the night before to have someone walk them through the car's features since Julio was off. That's where things went sour and my parents ended up waiting almost an hour for someone to just give them the keys with zero walk thru. My mom had to go ask someone for help to explain some of the car's features. (1 star) This was the opposite experience I had with my friend when I was in town last summer at Maita Toyota next door. If I had known the follow up would have been so poor, I would have bought the car up here in Oregon where taxes are a lot less and put it on a truck to deliver the car to my dad like I did once in the past. Pretty straight forward car buying experience. We went in on 4th of July weekend after corresponding with the very helpful Sherri days before. I live about 5 hours away and she was patient with my questions and informative about pricing. I had a lot of questions as I was corresponding with multiple Mazda dealers in Northern California. Sherri sent me an email with detailed pricing of the Mazda CX-5 Grand touring that I was interested in. Some other dealers I was corresponding with in Santa Rosa and Chico never sent me a detailed pricing and kept pushing me to come in for a test drive. I appreciate Maita's transparency and my communication with Sherri is what brought me in. We went to Maita to meet Ira who brought us on a test drive (we loved the vehicle). We asked about the preferred package and he quickly brought us the the same color car with the preferred package. I loved the white but my fiance was curious to see it in machine grey exterior. Ira drove us to the back lot filled with CX-5's and showed us the vehicle. Ira was patient while we debated on which color vehicle we would get, I never felt the need to rush to a decision. We ultimately went with the white. I love the car and get compliments on it all the time. My two car buying experiences before this were not so pleasant, but I had a great car buying experience with Maita for my new Mazda. They are in a temporary location right now while they await a remodel of their old building. Maita Mazda - 2023 CX-50 Premium Plus - Car Dealers Near Me - Sacramento, California

So I want to write this review out as a forewarning to anyone who may want to do business with Maita Mazda. I was looking into a preferred CX-5 and was given a very good out the door price. Through a few phone calls with Fritz, I had mentioned interest in a 0 APR FOR 60 Month promotion going on at the time. I had mentioned it enough times for any red flags to be brought up by Fritz and then also when I was filling out paper work with a Mr. Losenara we had the out the door number ran on paper and I was given a credit application to sign. All things were good until that point. My credit check is ran, I qualify for tier 1 credit, and I'm given a price for the 60 months with 0 APR about 2000 more than what was written down before my credit was pulled. For what it's worth, Mr. Losenara was just as confused as I was and he then had to grab another salesman, who I believe was JJ, based on the staff listings on their site. JJ is the epitome of poor customer service. There's a reason this review isn't one star and I'll get to it, but the way in which this guy carried himself was appalling to me. He comes in and starts explaining to me that they can't do the 0 APR for 60 months and the price I negotiated down to. I will admit that if I was told this before getting my credit pulled, there would have been no problems on my end, I would've just needed to crunch numbers and maybe I would've have still purchased but on the 36 months for 0 APR instead. But I was very confused and was visibly frustrated, I'm sure. So I'm pointing out to JJ that I would've liked to have known this before getting my credit run because now I'm on a timer to purchase a car in the next 45 days and I take my credit SERIOSULY, so it REALLY irked me. The terms of the price weren't what I expected and JJ was getting aggressive about how I can't have both and yada yada, to which I just say "I'm gonna have to walk on this deal", to which JJ storms off like a kid with a tantrum. No apologies for the misunderstanding, no half hearted attempt to keep the customer. I ended up grabbing my things and going to Elk Grove where I paid a little more, but ended up having excellent customer service there, so double whammy for Maita there. The reason I didn't want to give this a 1 star review is because I don't initially think Fritz was ever tyring to mislead and all of my conversations with him were pleasant. I also want to highlight Lee as a great person in the store because my test drive experience with him was excellent. It's crazy how one bad egg soured my taste on the whole dealership. This place is pretty good. They have pretty much only don't my oil changes whenever I need one and they get done in a timely manner and they provide ride share services. The only one bad experience I had was when my car started leaking oil a week after a routine oil change. I promptly called and of course they were nonchalant and saying if they forgot to do something then my car would have been displaying the issue before a weeks time. I took my care back in for them to fix it and low and behold they made an error. At first they didn't want to apologize or be held accountable but I asked to speak to the manager and he finally apologized. I had to pry more to get him to offer me a free oil change for the inconvenience. I think they could have been more professional. I was very worried about my car because I take really good car of my car and it's not old. Now I'm slightly second guessing their reputation when it comes to fixing my car. I've had a lot of bad experiences with shops fixing old cars I've had so I'm a little jaded. Just take caution and ask a lot of questions.
