It was 7:50 am they had just opened up . The check engine light was on in my daughter's car . She had to go to teach her class but I wanted her safe so we stopped in at the 3rd and Palomar Auto Zone .The manager José asked how he could help .Right away he took out his meter and hooked it up to the car and found the problem out fast .We bought the part and he walked with us out side to our car and showed us how to replace it .Jose was so nice and helpful also my daughter tried to give him a small token for his trouble and he wouldn't even think about taking it. I drove out to this store because the one closer to my house did not have the part. Unusually don't shop here. I came in for an ignition coil and some plugs and a gentleman by the name of Sergio helped me. I writing this review because he was very friendly, knowledgeable and respectful! Usually I have a lack luster experience when shopping an auto parts store but Sergio has great customer service!! I feel that's a dying breed these days so when I come across somebody like Sergio that is doing a great job with a great attitude, I take to Yelp!!! AutoZone, you have a great employee in this young man! I don't know Sergio, I've never met him before and the first time I've shopped at this location. They advertise that if you buy a new battery with them they will install for you , that is clearly not the case at this autozone . It's the closest Autozone to where I work. However these guys need to change out the opening shift. Second time I come about 7:45am and the doors are locked. Waited like 10 minutes till they opened. I'll start going to broadway or East H for my needs. Thought it convenient. Not worth the hassle. Customer service is cheap. So Make sure you already know what you need. read more

It doesn't rain much here in Southern California, but when it does.... it generally sprinkles for a day. There's the occasional torrential downpour that happens once in a while, more seemingly more often in recent years, but still nothing compared to what our neighbors to the north and way east get. Anyway, my wipers had pretty much had it after two and a half years of dry weather. With the winter months, we tend to get some fog and frost that requires a quick wipe or two. Enter AutoZone on 3rd in Chula Vista. It was about 20 minutes to closing time and I walked in. One of the employees said something, but I wasn't sure if it was a greeting or something to another person elsewhere. I acknowledged him regardless and continued into the store in search of the wiper blades. There were a few right near the front on an endcap. I started to check what sizes I needed as there were three different lengths on my car. After a few minutes of looking, a gentlemen from behind the counter offered assistance. I was grateful as there were different sizes, hooks and whatevers to go along with the wipers. He suggested I go outside to take a picture of what was on my car to assure I got the correct one. When I returned, we went to the aisle with even more options for wipers. I asked what was the main difference and he replied with "quality". I guess that's kind of typical, but he didn't go into much detail, other than to say they all typically wear down since there is so little rain, they dry out and crack fairly quickly. Good enough. He brought my three blades to the counter and rang them up. I had a discount code that allowed for 10% off the total purchase, but it wasn't being applied on the register he was on. He shifted over to another register and the same thing happened. He then moved over to another and repeated that the discount wasn't applying to the blades. Not sure if he was simply suggesting I pay the amount due without the discount code I had, but he didn't offer any other suggestions. I said, i have a discount code that should apply to the total purchase. He repeated, it wasn't applying to the product. So I said I wasn't going to make the purchase if the discount wasn't going to apply. He didn't make any attempt to offer another suggestion, so I left. I would think that he would investigate why the code wasn't working or even manually input the discount code, since it was for a national account. But no....! What a waste. Keep on Yelp'n! read more

This was my first time at this location. I normally go to the Auto zone on broadway. Its been raining this week and I needed new windshield wipers. Auto-zone on broadway has a book where you can look up your car/make/model and it provides a list of wipers that fit your car. I was surprised that this location didn't have one. My BF googled what size my car needs. I needed 28" wipers. I know the last time i bought wipers it was Duralast brand. They are less expensive than the "luxury" brands. Victor walked up asked if we needed help. My BF told him what car we have. Victor proceeded to tell me that the ones we grabbed dont fit my car. On my phone i pulled up the AutoZone website and it tells you exactly which wipers fit your car. I love this feature. I knew Victor was lying. He walks away and then comes back. I have the wiper im going to buy. Its about $18. Victor says "the least expensive option you can go with that will fit your car is this one" and he proceeds to grab a $28+ blade. I tell him no thank you and that the website says the one i have will work He checks us out. I was only purchasing one to make sure it fits my car and if it did I would simply walk back into the store to buy the other. Victor was upset i wasnt purchasing a 2nd one. My bf had to tell him 2x that I wanted to make sure it fit properly before buying the second. Victor laughed and said "I guess i'll see you tomorrow" Very rude tone as if we are dumb. Took me less than 5 min to put the new wiper on my car, walk back into the store and purchase a 2nd. Victor was very quiet and awkward when he rung us up the second time. Poor customer service. Wont be going to this location ever again. read more

Have been a loyal Autozone customer for over 15 years. Have spent thousands of dollars with this company. I have been treated with respect and had great experiences with autozone employees in the past. UNTIL, I was helped by Victor the "store manager" at the Chula Vista location on 3rd ave. this autozone "manager" needs to get demoted, retrained and given disciplinary action. He was rude, disrespectful, aggressive, and has no customer service skills what so ever just pure pitiful. Not sure why he's a store manager! I contacted headquarters here in San Diego to discuss the incident left a message to the district manager a month ago and never got a response?? I think the district manager nor autozone doesn't care about customer feedback. Will never set a foot or spend a penny in a autozone again! Thanks autozone! read more

I have this thing I do when I walk into a place and the employees intentionally don't help. I patiently start a mental countdown. Haven't been helped by the end of my countdown I will usually walk out. I stood in line at the AutoZone here today and there was one other customer being helped. No other customers in the store. There were various other employees all within eyesight. So I began silently counting to 30 as I stood in the line with no one else. Then i counted to 30 again. Eventually I walked out of the store. I'm sitting in my car there now reading this review. Standing in a line and not being acknowledged is very humiliating and unprofessional and I will be damned if I will give my business to a store that does that to me. read more

There was only 3 customers in at the time, I went to the front and asked who do I talk to about checking my battery, (it's a free service). Before the cashier said anything a loud woman (assistant manager ) told me I had to go to the end of the line to find out. I did, when it was my turn before I said anything the same woman had an employee one of two that was with out a customer the whole time I was there to help me. She embarest me and after the young man was to help me she told him to do something else to make me wait more, the 3 customers were gone and one had walked in, she made him go to that customer and offer his assistance. I felt like walking out, but I waited to see how long she will make me wait, it took just over 10min. To get someone to my car. I made a comment about that to the young man that was finally allowed to help me. I found out she was management and that she treat everyone the same but worse with the employees. I should of gone across the street to O'REILLY they are always supper friendly and helpful. I will never go to this place again. I do feel bad for the employees, if she causes the store to close, nobody wants to go to a business to be yelled at humiliated, made to wait just because, and have salespeople NOT to help me, until SHE wants to. Walked in to auto zone and the customer representative, Edwin H., was extremely rude - we didn't even ask him a question but yet that was our greeting from an AutoZone representative. Another customer walked in right after me and requested assistance from Edwin and Edwin once again was rude to the customer. If this place is suppose to be 100% customer satisfaction we are not satisfied at all with Edwin's assistance. Edwin needs to take a course on customer service. We received assistance from Luis and we was able to fix our problem. I don't recommend this AutoZone if the only representative working is Edwin, however, if Luis is there you may receive some customer satisfaction. I rate this Auto-zone for Edwin as a one but since Luis assisted it is a two also because the female representative (didn't catch her name) was rude to some other customer as well. Luis can't win if he has rude customer representatives working with him. Take a course in customer assistance. PLEASE! read more

Their customer service is truly terrible. If you need any PARTS for your car avoid this place and visit a different location like the ones off Broadway or in Eastlake, unless you like to be kept waiting for an extremely long period of time. There are two lines at the front of the store, one is for looking up parts and the other is for immediate purchases. I was waiting in line 25 min to get help to find the correct size oil filter for my car and there was only one other customer in front of me. If you know what you need and can grab it off the store's shelf I am sure it will be fast, but if you need to find a specific part or return something, it would be faster to leave this store and drive to a different Autozone and talk with their staff. I usually let things go but this experience was unacceptable and drove me to write this review which is my first review ever. Sometimes you visit a place and afterwards tell yourself NEVER AGAIN!!
