Autozone on 43rd in San Diego is the worst store I've ever dealt with. There customer service is non existent. The store managers should be the clean up crew because they really don't care about good business or making the company money. If you order something online your lucky to get it that same week. So that in an hour service was a big mistake print. And if you try calling if they do answer the phone you have to wait until they are done talking on their personal phone or done with their personal business first. See that's what happens when you put a customer on hold and forget to mute the call. And the ppl they hire have no basic knowledge of any sort of car parts UNLESS THEY GO TO THE COMPUTER AND ASK THE COMPUTER THE QUESTIONS. At all cost go to the AutoZone on National ave. 43rd AutoZone will make u dumber about cars when u leave their. Even if your a Master Mechanic. But the people that work at this location really really suck I can't believe they've been hired here to work like who in their right mind gave them their job first off they were all cursing yelling and complaining that they had to be at work mind you that there're kids in the store. I called up this place to see if they can help me replace my battery since its still under warranty and I was told they can help me as long as I show up before 5 pm. I went there right away and was in line and the manager Gabriel was the one helping me. I told him I had just called and i need to replace my battery. He gave me all the reasons that they can't help me because they are busy, the other manager was already helping another customer replace a battery and I look the register and it was just me and another customer who was being helped already. So I explained to him that's why I called first and I was told they could replace it for me and I said you guys should have said you couldn't do it. Gabriel responded shrugging his shoulders, I don't know whoever answered the phone may have left already. He probably figured out I wouldn't go anywhere so he asked for the information about the car, I knew the model and the type of car but wasn't sure about the year since my sister just gave me her old car. He rolled his eyes like I was an inconvenience to him and I finally said you know you are and he said rude. So for him to know and admit and finish was I was about to tell him says a lot about how he treats his customers. He is aware of his actions and to think he is one of the manager that runs that place. I told him straight up "you are rude and you shouldn't be helping the customers if that's the best you can do". And then he was saying I'm just tired and it's been a long day but I told him well I worked last night for 12 hours and its already half a day and I haven't slept but that's still no reason for you to treat your customers like that. From the time that I said can you help me replace my battery, That was the worst customer service I have received from anyone. Then another employee helped me Roberto who was so nice then Luis was also one of the manager helped me finish replacing the battery and they went above and beyond. They actually helped me they were even smiling while doing the work and very approachable something I never experience with Gabriel while speaking to him. I spoke to the older gentleman who was the manager I forgot his name and told him about my interaction with Gabriel and he said he would speak to him about it and there were complaints about him already. From speaking to him the complaints about this person is nothing new. I give 5 stars to Luis and Roberto for being helpful and attentive but 2 stars because it isn't a bad place to go to for parts or car battery but customer service could have been better with one of the manager Gabriel. He needs re training for customer service because I am a paying customer and I spend money on that store whenever I go in and I don't need and will never deal with an employee with an attitude like Gabriel. He is a manager, Luis is a manager too but he helped me, service with a smile. The other older manager helped the other guy change the battery. I've always gone to this autozone location since it's the closest one to my house, 2 mins in car. Here's a quick sum up, so I went in to buy a brand new battery for $250 when I bought it I replaced the battery in the parking lot and turned in the one I had in my car. I bought a new battery because my battery light kept turning on and off, so when I left the store the battery light kept turning in and off and I took it to the mechanic and he said that it's not the battery that's it was my alternator going bad. The following morning right when they opened I went to go return the battery since I did not need the battery at all and just get my battery that I gave them when I bought the new one. So I went in the store and like always everyone with their resting B face and just always having lame customers service. This old chubby short curly haired lady asked me what she can help me with and I told her that I needed to get a refund on my battery because of what the mechanic told me, so she ends up telling me that she can not help me and that they can't give me a refund at all and she asked me why I needed to return it as well. The whole time she was talking seemed like she just didn't care or bother to try and help me out. At this point I was just irritated because of her customer service (I always try to avoid this lady) it seems like majority of these people that work there know very very little of cars like these car part stores should hire people that know about cars and have good customer service. Anyways so I leave the store disappointed and irritated so I go back and get try to get my old battery back at least because like I said it wasn't the battery that was the problem it was the alternator, so I pretty much gave them a good battery that was in good condition. So the lady tells me that I have to pay for the core charge and that was fine so I told her that's okay so I go to my car to get my wallet and when I come back into the store she was helping another customer already so this elderly nice guy asked me what he can help me with, as soon as I start walking Tom the nice man she quickly stops helping her customers saying that " he bought the battery installed it on the car and he need to pay the core charge, I don't know you take care of that" she said that all with like rude tone!!! When she walked away the nice old man said he was able to help me and he did, he gave me my money back and my old battery back and I really appreciate this man he's a elderly Hispanic man I even told him that I really do appreciate him a lot for his help. If it wasn't for that musty old chubby lady that just caused so much irritation and madness I would of never left this review but with what happened with me and this lady I just couldn't Stand that specific worker on top of that these same aged young people were playing games on the register computer while there was customers LOL besides that this was just one of the worst experiences I've had here at my local auto-zone. pros... great place to get some basic car parts. they have most if not all car parts as long as it is not a dealer only part. i even got some spark plug wires for my saab, which is not usually an easy task. the workers are pretty helpful and went out of their way to call other stores in the area to have them hold a part for me cause they didn't have it. i know it's not much but in this time and age of really poor customer service, this place stands out. cons... parking is horrible, the space around here are small and tightly packed. some of the workers are not super knowledgeable but they are very helpful. read more

Came in and ordered front and rear brake pads for my 2004 corolla, I then took the pads to TJ to get installed. When the guy was ready to install the pads he realized both were incorrect, the shop was about to close and I had to buy some there at the shop for double Autozone's price and with no lifetime warranty. I had to wait till the pads arrived because they did not have them in stock at the shop. It was a very stressful moment that I didn't have to go through and double the expense I anticipated luckily I had extra cash on me. I came in to Autozone to share the bad moment and extra expense I had to experience. The guy there didn't really care much for my story and I got no apology but was asked who helped me. I responded that the name should be on the receipt, he took my number and said he would have the manager of the store call me in a few hours and that was 2 days ago. This Autozone DOES NOT value the customers time when they physically come into their store! I took valuable time out of my busy weekend to pickup parts at this store just to find myself waiting in line. One employees was assisting a customer, the other was on the phone with another, Not a problem. The employee gets off the phone, I should be next... Phone rings right away, he picks up and helps that customer before me, a second phone rings, a third employee from the back comes up and answers the phone before me. Second employee get off the phone and the phone rings right away and he assist that customer before me again! Three separate phone call before me while other customers in the store are standing in line waiting for service. Whoever in charge of this store needs to reevaluate thier customers service and get back to the basic. What a JOKE! Very...Very...Very disappointed with this store.
