She said her experience was exceptional. Within 30 seconds of walking in she was immediately helped and escorted by the employee (she said she thinks he was the store manager) to the correct location of 5W-40 oil we needed. I live right next to this AutoZone and have been here multiple times, buying various parts and supplies. Unfortunately, the service seems to get worse every time I walk in. The employees consistently act like they'd rather be anywhere else, and today was the final straw. I came in to have my engine light checked. Instead of assisting me, the person at the counter handed me the tool and told me to do it myself. After I figured it out and brought the reader back, they printed the codes, tossed the papers on the counter, and said "good luck." No advice, no explanation, just wanted to get people out of there. Didn't even give me a chance to buy the oil that I wanted to purchase. Whether it's poor training, bad management, or just a culture of not caring, something is clearly off at this store. I'll gladly drive the extra 15 minutes to a different AutoZone. It's completely uncomfortable being in that store. read more

CALL AHEAD TO VERIFY THEY ARE ACCEPTING OIL BEFORE YOU GO. They advertise that they dispose of used oil. So I went in on monday with a 5 quart bottle I had just drained. The guy said they were full at the moment, but could take it wednesday. So I go in weds. "Oh, sorry, he's coming later today, we can definitely take it tomorrow." So I go in thurs. "He never showed up, we don't know when we can take it". I'm starting to think maybe the whole oil disposal thing's just a scam to get people to come in. That is some absolute next level, god-tier, fucking horse shit. Just UNREAL, that these douche canoes couldn't at least say, on the THIRD FUCKING TIME, "you know, this is getting pretty ridiculous -- here, let me take that bottle for you and simply set it on the ground somewhere until the mythical oil fairy actually shows up and drains our oil storage thing". No, ZOMG! they might have to hold like 3 bottles occasionally! At the very least, the first time I went in, the guy should've said "hey, it's pretty inconsistent and unreliable -- you should call ahead before coming in to make sure we can take it." I guess I'll do his job for him and provide this basic public service announcement myself here. You're welcome. My battery died and I called AAA battery service to give me a jump or sell me a new battery. I waited over 45 min. with no sign of AAA in sight, and happened to be very close to this AutoZone store. I called and spoke to Benjamin and asked if they had a battery for my make, model and year of vehicle, and Benjamin checked inventory and gave me several options. I asked if I could pay someone at the store to put it in for me, and he said he would do it, no charge. So I went to AutoZone, bought a very highly rated battery for way less than what AAA would have charged me for a mediocre battery (my existing battery was a AAA one) and Benjamin installed the battery and I was on my way in 20 min. or less. YAY!!! Big shout out to Benjamin, he was extremely polite, and did not seem at all annoyed or put out by the fact that I requested the new battery be installed. Benjamin is an asset to AutoZone, and the fact that AutoZone provides this much needed service is awesome! I am now a customer for life! read more

The check engine light on my car had lit up last week for a day or so then went away on its own. The following day, the thermostat light lit up and went away on its own. I mentioned it to my mechanic and he asked me to bring in the car the next day, which I did. He attached a scanner to the car and got a message that their may be an issue with the water pump. Seemed to be working at the time, so nothing he could do with it at the time. A couple days later and I have a full blown auto emergency last night. The lights on the dash lit up like the 4th of July with an alarm. As I'm driving on the freeway at 6:30 in the afternoon, a new message popped up saying "pull over in a safe place within the next .5 miles". Oh crap! The mechanic is closed for the weekend and now my car is about to explode! What else could go wrong! I pulled over and started looking for auto parts stores to see if they could help. I'd been to this Autozone before and it was about 3 miles away. Another store was closer, but these guys were great last time I needed help. Spoke to one of the employees who was somewhat helpful. But I asked a question that he wasn't quite familiar with, so he passed off to Hiram, the store manager. While not able to see the vehicle, Hiram was able to give me some great advice and options of what to do. I'm so very thankful that these guys know their stuff with so many different cars out there. I'm the end, I was able to get me car back on the road thanks to Hiram's knowledge and advice. I didn't purchase anything from them, but their customer service goes above and beyond. I called in advance to see if they had the battery for my car in their shop and if they were able to help me out with swapping the two out. Over the phone they said they did and were able to help me. When I arrived to the shop the cashier was very rude and short from the time I walked up to the counter. After asking about the battery he immediately told me he could not help me and directed me to find a different location. This is by far the worst customer service experience I Have ever had. I called the store to see if they had a Torx T70 and David Y. told me he didn't know what that was and I can come to the store and look. I asked him to check the shelves and he said he cant do that. Stephen (manager) was very helpful. The wife's Jeep had died already once, and I had a feeling it was just the battery cables. So, Stephen came out and checked the battery, turned out it was fine. He showed me some better battery connections, a kit to clean the terminals and also lent me an assortment of tools so I could get all accomplished out in the parking lot. Steve S. told me I was trying to return a used part. It was a camshaft position sensor I didn't even open because the camshaft synchronizer came with one. I tried to say so, but he turned into a condescending prick, pointing at a store policies sign and reading it slowly to me like I didn't speak English. I called a rep at another store who confirmed that Steve's method of determining "used" was wrong in this case and that I should talk to a manager. There wasn't a manager so I tried Steve again, who started reading store policies to me, again. I'm only giving two stars and not one because when I came in to rent a tool the first time, the people seemed normal. I came here after going to a certain repair shop known for their low prices. What I dislike most about this "certain repair shop" is that they have pea-brained customer service people who talk to the customers. They are nice, but really aren't that helpful or clear. At Autozone I brought the diagnosis I was given by place #1, and was given all the parts I needed for the price of ONE strut at place #1. Not to mention the dude who helped me was actually helpful, you know, someone who actually knows what he is talking about, and doesn't just read a diagnosis off a piece of paper. He answered my questions well, and just knew what to get based on what problems I told him I was having. Not to mention the price difference. Place number one quoted me 725 dollars to do all of this, and that's with a mother #$%$#@# coupon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK. So I got my parts here for around 185. Called a mobile mechanic! We were really grateful for his help and recommending the product needed to address our air conditioning problem. He even offered to send us to a local mechanic when thing didn't quite work out. On an unrelated note: i recommend that if you should have any issue with your air conditioning unit in your car, to seek a professional licensed to handle Freon. The commercial products available might help you or if you overload the pressure allowed in your unit, you could blow it, and the price could range in the thousands.
