This guy was a procand knew his stuff. He made the inquiry super easy and even offered to pull the parts so I didn't have to wait. I drove all the way from temecula to pick up my parts. Wgeb I arrived the location was standing room only. I noticed that everyone in thr store was working super effective and attending to everyone's needs. I looked for Danny but was quicky attended by Eric. Eric looked over the parts and told me if Danny picked the parts, he know they were correct. This gave me confidence. I had rust problems on a Jeep battery terminal. I went into AutoZone in San Marcos CA. When I went to checkout with some cleaning solution and a steel brush, the clerk Zoe offered to show me how to pull the terminal and clean it properly if I would bring the car to the store. I did and she was a wonderful person to come help me in the parking lot. Much later I found out it was her 1st day on the job and she is going to school to become a certified mechanic! Terrible service. I booked an appointment a week out for an alignment. When I got to my appointment, I was told it would be a 1.5-2 hour wait despite my appointment because they were "backed up". After 2 hours, I inquired about when my car would be finished and was told another 45 minutes. 3.5 hours later and my alignment is done. What a freakin joke. I understand being backed up, but when you have an appointment, that should be made a priority over random walk-ins. read more

I came in after my car wouldn't start and had to get a new battery. The whole experience just left me feeling like I should have gone somewhere else. The customer service was terrible. I paid $220 for a battery that I later saw online that I could have got for half the price. They said they could install it for me so I opened up my hood and waited outside for someone to help. Eventually a service employee shows up (his name badge said his name is Cesar). No acknowledgement, never said a single word to me, it was clear that he was struggling with installing my battery. After going inside to get help, he finally gets it installed, then simply shuts my hood and walks away. I drove off shaking my head thinking it was such a weird interaction. Worst customer service experience I've ever had at an auto store. I called with a part number in hand. They guy said they had it in stock. I asked him to put it behind the counter for me before we hung up and I drove 25 minutes to get there. He said no problem, and hung up on me. I called back and told a different guy what happened. He said, no problem, he's looking now. Hang tight. After being on hold for 5 minutes, I decided to start my drive. I got all the way into the store (while on hold for 20+ minutes) and the guys are just standing behind the counter so I said, "I called about the triple square bits" and he said, "oh yeah. I couldn't find it." So I said, I just drove 25 minutes to get here because you said you had it and left me on hold the entire time?" And he said. "My bad." Never again. I bought a starter from them, installed it (took 2 1/2 hours, was a pain) and it was defective. It wouldn't turn over. So I replaced the battery & starter relay and tried again. Still nothing, I decided to tap on it & what u know it started So I tried shutting it off and starting it again....nothing. I took it back and first told me it wasn't from them, showed them the reciept, the older gentlemen who was helping proceeded to say my reciept was for an alternator, not a starter. So after I showed that it was for a starter, he then tells me I cant have my $ back, only replacement and they wont have it in until tomorrow. I said fine with me. While he was taking my info he decided to tell me that he has been in the automotive field for 35 years and never heard of anyone having to tap on a starter to make it work, I kind of chuckledand just knodded along. Guess since I didn't take the bait he tells me that he's going to tell everyone he knows not to take their vehicles to my place of work (being because I had my uniform on, he knew where I worked). Just smiled and said nothing to respond to his attemps (3) to start a conflict with myself. So I just like to tell people this isn't my first time have an autozone employee try & push my buttons, because they dont want to return my $ fo r a defective product they sold me 4 or 5 days earlier. This kind of buisness is unprofessional and I for one felt las tho they were trying to intimidate me into keeping their junk product. I walked in and the store was empty so I went to the counter where 3 people stood talking. I asked if I bought a brake light there if someone could put it in? A short girl said no, they were short handed. I then asked if they had batteries for my key fob. The same girl found one and started to put it in until a man walked into the store. She turned to the guy next to her and told him to finish because the customer was hers and handed the job off. I still needed a brake light so I went down the street to O'Reillys and although they were busy, they put the light in right away. There's a reason their store was empty. Auto Zone you've lost a customer for life and O'Reillys has gained one. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at an auto part store. My car has been dying lately so I went in to test my battery and get a new one. Vladimir came to help me, he began by putting the positive clamp onto the negative and I already knew this guy has never touched a battery in his life. I quickly corrected him and we laughed it off, after ten minutes he failed to successfully test the battery. So I said screw it I'll just get a new battery, he began to disconnect the battery in which he was unsuccessful doing so. In complete and utter shock of how he couldn't do the most basic of task, he went on and said sorry we cannot get your battery out. So he started to connect the battery back up so I can drive to O Riley, he does everything and closes my hood and says your good to go. I go to turn on my car and nothing... I get his manager to jump my car and the manager opens the hood to find that this idiot didn't connect the battery to the car, he just bolted it down. I begin to complain and the manager says, "calm down everyone makes mistakes" keep in mind I've been here for 40 mins now. This manager is unsuccessful in jumping my car, so he gets another manager, in which made me wait another 10 mins. The last manager finally jumps my car, slams my hood, and walks back inside with out saying anything to me. So I wasted almost an hour of my time for nothing, not a new battery...and didn't even get my battery tested. O Riley got a new customer. read more

The Employees are great, but the parts are junk. They sell cheap Chinese made parts that have to be replaced over and over, hence their warranty. Their business model is DIY sales as the parts are NOT installer quality, they do not even recognize Jobber pricing which is a Commercial sales industry standard. Understaffed and Overpriced, Oreilly or Rockauto.com is much better value. Duralast brand is Chinese junk in box that you do want to install or be installed on your vehicle if you care about quality.
