Did you know that there is a shortage now of windshield washer fluid it is a hot commodity?! Last year toilet paper, this year washer fluid. Who knew this was coming?! I guess it's a sign of the times with a recession and inflation. Or it contains some "cancer causing agent" that California has recent outlawed. Or that all these bottles are stuck on a barge off the coast of Long Beach. Oh the theories... I went to Target, the Dollar Tree, CVS, and Walgreens to find their shelves void of all windshield washer fluid. I did come across it at an Ace Hardware and another small auto shop, but they were price gauging by charging $14.00 a gallon! I feel as if I needed to get on my rocking chair and say, "When I was a teenager, windshield washer fluid was $.99 cents..." At a price above $10, I'd look up on YouTube how to make my own windshield washer fluid or fill up the tank with water so the damn warning light would go off on my car's dash board! Thankfully I remembered this AutoZone in Old Town Goleta existed and they were open late. They had several bottles left at a semi-reasonably price of $4 a gallon. The cashier was super friendly and we chatted over this odd situation as he checked me out. Thanks AutoZone! read more

When shopping for a battery for most places use an on-line matching tool, but many were wrong, unhelpful or inaccurate at identifying inventory. I checked the Auto Zone website and called these guys. They were helpful. They were able to explain what the numbers on my battery meant and verify that what they had did meet the requirements of my car. Costco's match tool was wrong. The person who answered at Walmart didn't know what numbers I needed to tell her so she could verify if they had the battery in stock. Auto Zone knew their stuff. I bought the battery and installed it myself in the parking lot with the loner tool. Done and done! I wish I had gotten their names to give them credit. read more

Had a very good experience with this store. I was traveling through Goleta when my battery unexpectedly died. Got a boost and found this AutoZone. The parts manager, Jesus, tested the battery and showed me that it was dead. Despite being busy and a worker at lunch, Jesus showed me how the change the battery, hooked up a device to protect the car's on-board computer, and just generally kept me from messing up. I was back on the road in under an hour. His knowledge and kindness were most appreciated. Excellent service. read more

After a very unfortunate online delivery of a broken radiator from the Memphis Autozone store (that we accidentally installed without realizing there was a hole in the plastic), the Goleta Autozone was very gracious with helping us replace it with one that didn't have a hole in it. The visit with them was probably the only quick and easy part of our day. It was a horrible day turned slightly better by these guys. I give them five stars. read more

Bottom line: not super impressed This location popped up recently and with a great local parts store, and an O'Reilly's nearby this place was going to have serious competition. Once it finally opened I went in there to get a serpentine belt for my Toyota. I spent a few minutes talking about it with the guy behind the counter and he didn't seem very receptive to having or getting the part. I feel like I kind of interrupted the discussion that was going on between the Guy and the gal behind the counter, because as soon as we were done they resumed their conversation. I just went in a few minutes ago to try and find a few fuel line parts for my motorcycle. When I found what I needed and went to the front, there were three people in line and no employees to be seen. One thing is for sure, they certainly do have a lot of stuff. I guess the modern paradigm is that you have to have done all of your research before stepping foot in the store as you're not going to get any help from anybody at any hardware store, home-improvement store, or parts store. This place certainly seems like no exception and with a place like Larry's nearby, they have an awful lot of ground to cover in the helping customers department. read more

never have I ever walked into an AutoZone and not be acknowledged by an employee... I guess there's a first time for everything. No greeting, no eye contact, no smiles and defientley not an offer to help me find what i was looking for. it's true that most days, AutoZone employees are out numbered by in-store customers.... that wasn't the case whatsoever at this location. empty check out line.... including myself an average of 3-4 shoppers shopping. as the disappointment begin to set in while I made my way towards the door, there was a brief moment that I thought the only female employee would acknowledge me as she walked passed me .... yeah fucken right. shame on the lack luster staff at 2:50 pm today. read more
