Today I stopped by to buy a new light bulb for a burned out headlight. Angel, the employee who helped me, asked to check my headlights, to make sure of what I needed. Then he looked up the part, found the bulbs in the store, and explained the 3 options. I opted for a 2-pack, figuring the other bulb will probably go out soon as well. He kindly offered to install both bulbs at no charge. I opted to have him install only one bulb (just due to the possibility of both new bulbs eventually burning out at around the same time). But I can't tell you what a relief this was! I also had a question about my hubcaps, and his answer was very helpful. Angel was an angel for me! Just went there for the first time, and I'll definitely go again! Car battery wasn't holding a charge. Alex was great talking me through options on the phone, and when I arrived Marcial helped me find a convenient parking spot. One of the Worse customer service experiences I've had at any auto parts store. The girl at the register was so disconnected to the fact that she had a paying customer in front of her. Management needs to really let people working in customer service that--it's just that. Customer Service!!! If you can't do it then move on !! Noticed my signal light went out after work today and was worries about the safety- Someone suggested me trying O'REILLY Called the store and Carolina said I could come by to buy the parts and they can replace it for me as long as it's before dark I made it there quickly and the gentleman at the counter was very helpful that helped me with the purchase and later replaced the bulb in 5 min! I had a great, albeit short experience. I drove over anxiously hoping the lights would let me make it in time, and I won't exactly say when I pulled up to the store so as not to encourage behavior like mine, but let's just say the employee could probably smell his dinner. I may have been helped by Luis. I can't remember exactly, but the employee was younger and had dark spiky-ish hair. I had just gotten in some parts and was excited to put them together, but realized I needed a crucial component, then subsequently learned that Home Depot (which I had plenty of time to get to) did not carry it. Thankfully Luis (?) helped me find what I was looking for right away and explained a bit of the nuances of the item. I would not go into this particular location again. Went in for simple jumper cables. During checkout, I asked about the military discount advertised in store and even pulled out my ID. The cashier scanned my item and typed in some things- then suddenly walked away. Tip: NEVER walk away from a customer without saying why! That is ridiculously rude. He then wandered around the back aisles while I waited. When he returned he mumbled something about needing his manager (what he should've said prior to walking away). Then he questioned the validity of my military service! I told him to forget the discount and just ring me up full price. He did so, no apologies offered. Let me be clear, my primary frustration with this visit was him walking away with no customer service skills. I am completely aware that the discount is a privilege, not a right. read more

Everyone here is very helpful and attentive, I've never been let down by O'Reilly's whether in my hometown, in LA or in Goleta, this is my favorite auto parts store. It has always been easy to get a refund the few times I was unsatisfied with a product, and the employees really try to help you get what you need. My only complaint is their parking lot is pretty tight, but that's a Goleta problem I suppose. read more

He was able to help me figure out what the issue was, get me the fuse to fix it, and help me with how to instal it within 15 minutes. I went to this place specifically to get break pads for My toyota sequoia I specifically asked for the rear break pads long with the rotors multipe times just to make sure it was the correct parts they confirmed it was correct and after the total was 217$ I get to the mechanic to change my break pads, the mechanic starts working on my vehicle and I get a call from my mechanic about 25 min later saying that O'Reilly had sold me the INCORRECT break pads . They sold me the ones for the front instead of the back. Now at this point my car is disabled and unable to go anywhere. I can easily get a ride and exchange them BUT that's not the point. If I go buy an auto part at O'Reilly autoparts I'm expecting the part that I'm paying for nothing less and nothing more what I need is to be given what I ordered not what ever they feel like giving me .. and I am upset because this should never had happened. So, the service was, whatever. Honestly it really didn't seem like any of the employees knew what the hell they were talking about when asked very simple questions about some of their products. I had a 2 stroke 50 cc Vespa which was just purchased and needed to buy the appropriate oil for it. Since this was my first scooter I was still a bit ignorant as to what it needed in order to drive safely and properly. I asked one of the managers what oil they would recommend for such a vehicle and they just kind of stared at me blankly. You could almost here the inner monologue going on; "fuck, I have no idea, let's just read the labels and pretend." That's exactly what they did. Poked around the oils reading the labels until finally saying in the most unsure way possible..."I guess this oil wouldn't hurt it." "Uuummmm, ok" So I grab the oil and proceed to checkout. I fill up and oil and head on my way. Things were fine at first but after a month or so I kept having to fill my oil more frequently than I feel I should have. So I go back and grab the same oil they recommended and fill it up again. Probably did this for about three months or so. That's were all of the problems start. My brand new Vespa started to act a little funny; sputtering and stalling in the middle of the road, putting me in really dangerous situations. After a month or so of it acting up it finally died on my way home from work. I had to walk my scooter two miles and finally leave it parked in my neighborhood until I could get it towed to the shop. I get the scooter towed and hundreds of dollars later the guy at the shop said that my engine was blown. Completely dead and my only option was to buy a new motor or take it tot he scrap yard. He said that the oil I was using was the culprit. I was furious. Mind you, this is my only mode of transport, leaving me to take the bus for two months until I could save up enough money to buy another scooter. Their uneducated guess cost me thousand of dollars. for something that was supposed to be a very simple maintenance. I would obviously not recommend going here for anything. Unless you already know what you need and there are really no other options, fine, give them you money but at your own risk. read more

Bottom Line: this is a great auto parts store This place is close to where I live and work and they have a lot of parts already in stock. One thing that I like that they did for me is that i needed an alternator and they guy told me they could have it in a few hours for me and they drove it up from their oxnard store. I installed it on my lunch break, about three hours after I requested it at the counter - thats pretty cool. I don't know why O'Reilly has such a bad rap, the employee named Luis provided perfect customer service when I came in for a battery check and change. He was insightful and knowledgable about everything I had questions about. He even came out and cleaned my battery terminals and then replaced my battery. He was so great with customer service I actually did the customer service survey most people never do. It's great to know that there are still really awesome people that know how to treat people right when they're in need (of a new battery). read more

I have been a longtime customer of O'Reilly's (even back when it was owned by Kragen), and have generally been pleased with their service and availability of parts. Unfortunately, I will no longer be shopping at this store any longer after my recent experiences. I went there a few weeks ago to get an engine and cabin air filter for my Infiniti QX60 and one of the employees helped me lookup the part numbers and find the parts in stock. However, the employee searched of the wrong car (Infiniti Q60) and sold me the wrong parts. I went back to exchange the parts and to buy some snow chains. When I got home I noticed the chains were not the type I wanted and went back to return the chains only to find out they were not returnable! I was never warned that all sales of snow chains were final, and when I tried to return them they said the no return policy is on the receipt (which of course I received post sale). This poor customer service and lack of sufficient parking due to service trucks are not going to do this dirty old shop any favors. I think I'll be taking my business across the street to the new AutoZone from now on. read more

Great store. I always go here to get parts for my vehicles. Most of the time I deal with a guy named Brian. He is one of the managers there, he has been there for a long time. This guy is amazing. He always goes out of his way to make my day better. He will do whatever it takes to get the parts that I need even if that means having to "order out" to get the necessary part ordered from another store. Brian always has a cheerful attitude building up the store. He takes customer service to a whole different level. Been here once or twice over the years. Fast and helpful service by nice guy at the counter (didn't get his name, alas) when I went in last weekend to get clips for a sagging skid plate on my dad's 2008 Camry. He told me to hold onto my receipt in case the clips don't work out. Well, the ones he gave me worked out perfectly, and now the skid plate doesn't scrape every lump and bump in the road! read more

I brought in my 2012 Chevy Equinox to get my battery replaced. I bought a new battery from Costco the previous night but the workers were not able to figure out how to change the battery with my car. Apparently my car is a one of a kind that got creative with how to secure the battery. Anthony was very patient, helpful and kind to help. I wish i had bought my battery from O'Reilly's instead!
