Recently, I found myself in a difficult situation when the water pump on our Mercedes went out. None of the local stores had the part in stock, so I spent nearly $400 ordering it directly from AutoZone's website. While waiting on the part, I parked in a clean, out-of-the-way area of the lot where no cars typically park, and began preparing the vehicle for the installation. What followed was surprising and disheartening. Instead of a simple conversation or a show of understanding, the manager made the decision to call the police on me. Thankfully, the responding officer showed empathy and chose not to escalate the situation. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of it -- the store's contracted tow truck was sent out twice, though even the driver expressed discomfort with towing us, recognizing the situation for what it was: people going through a tough time, trying to fix their car and move on respectfully. And yet, early Sunday morning -- 8:45 AM -- I was berated by the manager in front of her staff. I apologized, explained I was nearly finished, and asked for just a few more hours to complete the repair. Her tone remained harsh and dismissive, calling our vehicle an "eyesore" more than once. For context: our Mercedes, while temporarily immobile, Blue Books for over $20,000 in its current condition. So to call it an "eyesore" was not only inaccurate -- it was unkind. As someone who has worked in hospitality and management for over 15 years, I've faced far more difficult situations with far more grace. Leadership is not about flexing authority -- it's about setting the tone, finding solutions, and recognizing when compassion is more powerful than control. Had she approached me respectfully, I would've gone the extra mile to finish immediately. Instead, the energy she gave was adversarial from the start. This review is not about revenge or anger. It's about the hope that this manager reflects on how her actions reflect on her team and on AutoZone as a whole. Management is a privilege, not a platform for power trips. And when you're in that role, you're not just solving problems -- you're teaching your staff how to treat people. I truly hope she sees this not as criticism, but as an opportunity. This review is meant for autozone on 333 e. Southern. I have always chosen to purchase my auto parts at autozone because i enjoy the life warranties. I thought they did this because they stood behind their product. However, i have now discovered this is not so! I purchased a fuel pump from them. Shortly after installation i got stranded. The fuel gaur indicated i had half a tank of gas. Called tow truck. They also checked. Got towed to mechanic. I had to rent a car because i live in east mesa and there is no public transportation. It took several days before he could check the car, meanwhile the car rental fee keeps growing. The mechanic indicated that the car was out of gas and that was all. I thought maybe we looked at the gaur wrong. Drove the car and shortly thereafter i again got stranded. I told the mechanic i was sure the gauge showed there was half a tank of gas again. This time he discovered the pump's fuel level mechanism was defective. So, i purchased another one. The first time i out gas the gas leaked all over the ground! I again had to rent a car whole they fixed it. This time the gasket was defective. Mind you, when i purchased this pump i was told it was the best and it had a higher price tag than others so i believed it. It ends up that this was false information. So, of course, my mechanic is not going to replace this part for free. He charged me each time he had to take out the pump! So now i am out of over $1,000.00 due to paying the mechanic and renting a car because Autozone sold me 2 defective fuel pumps! So i went to the store and the manager nicely refunded the money for the parts - over 600.00. But he explained Autozone does not reimburse for the additional expenses i had to pay - instead, he said the manufacturer might. He called his district manager explaining the situation in hopes that he would reimburse for the mechanic and the car rental however the district manager never called back. So, be ware! Autozone does not consider itself responsible for selling defective merchandise! Specially when their employee told me this was a high end product! I had the best experience today at Auto Zone! I was gonna go to Walmart ... my son said, NO, Go to Auto Zone right around the corner from my residence..... he said service and parts outstanding! And it was all that!!!! Gentleman helped put Taillight Tape on my taillight.... I was so appreciative for his above and beyond!!!!! Went to this Auto Zone for new wheel covers. Asked sales clerk to verify the correct size because last wheel covers all came off. He said the size I purchased was correct. I asked why the last ones might have all fallen off and he said I put them on wrong. I then asked him to show me how to put one on correctly and I would do the other 3. He said No and went back in the store. I asked to speak to the manager about this and he said they "don't do this." Also, they weren't busy. They just didn't want to help me. LOUSY customer service. I'm so beyond impressed with "MY" Auto Zone. I went in this evening needing something, to secure a part of my car that came loose. I had previously this evening gone to the competitor.. Just because. Same distance from my house. Unfortunately it took me three transactions and one little attitude abt not one of the employees being abt to walk outside and see what I'm talking abt... but no no one was willing. Before I KNEW that I was never going there again. I left very disappointed in their customer service. I went straight to Auto Zone, walked in and Thomas Y. Greeted me with a very warm welcome! I told him what I needed, he asked if he could SEE what i was needing. He actually made several trips back and forth trying to find the right fit. Amazing. He asked if he could put the clip on for me, let me know how much it was before he put it on and even replaced the same clip on the other side. His customer service was impeccable! If I could give the location on Main Street between Greenfield and Lindsay a no star I would! I go into the store and tell them that I am having trouble with my battery and that my car won't start. The first person looks at me like "What do you expect me to do?" So I asked if he can check if my battery has a charge. He asks if the car is off. I say no. He says well it has to be to check the battery. I said okay. He still did not move. So he goes to test and it's dead. It's under warranty and can be swtched out no charge. He asks another guy to do it so he can leave. The second guy (Robert) "tries" to remove the battery and says he can't get it off. Whenasked what shouldI do he says take it somewhere else and replace the cables. We can jump you tonight. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I call my husband and with channel locks and a vice grip he gets it done in 10 minutes. Replaces the battery himself. No one even offered to help!!! My husband asked for new nuts and bolts only to get the wrong size from the manager Brian. WOW!!! What horrible customer service!!!! In 12 years, have purchased a total of 5 batteries from this AutoZone. Each time, I was given the cart with tools to change battery myself in their parking lot. On 12/20/2017 I purchased the 4th battery for husband. Was given the cart to use. Sales Rep was respectful. I said I'd be back Friday 12/22/2017 to buy a battery for 2nd vehicle. Rep said "Great!" 12/22/17 I returned to AutoZone and purchased a $155.00 battery. I asked the Rep 3x prior to buying "Can we use the cart?" Rep ignored my 3 questions while asking a few stupid questions on why I brought with me a Pos & Neg felt disks for the new battery. He looked at me stupidly as I explained I needed them. I assumed I would be able to use the cart. AFTER I paid for battery, husband rolled the cart up, the Rep said "You cannot use the cart, I might need to use it." I asked the manager. Manager said we don't allow customers to use the cart. From the cart, I picked up the steel wire battery post cleaner, the Rep demanded I put it back and said I could not use it. If his looks could harm, I'd have been laying on the floor. That was THREE LIES from two employees, the AutoZone manager and his insolent, rude young Rep. I will drive out of my way, to never have to set foot in this particular store again. That is how rude, nasty and unhelpful these people really are. Why be decent to customers barely 3 days before a Holiday? Back in October 2017, I was at head of line, sales Rep told 2 ladies to come to the counter. They were 3 customers behind me. It was their family, and Rep went outside with the cart and worked on their car. That left me standing there for 35 more minutes while waiting for him to finish outside on their car. I visited the AutoZone at 4155 East Main Street on Sunday April 29th I've been parked across the street and left my vehicle with ignition on for too long. My 2007 Cadillac Escalade will not start. So I walked across the street to the AutoZone and met a fine gentleman named Pat Finney. I asked if I could borrow a battery jump start, Pat volunteered to walk across the street with me to jump my vehicle. The batteries juice level was too low so Pat volunteered to go grab his sweet 1997 Jeep Wrangler and drive across the street to give me a jump which he did and got me on my way. I did not get the manager's name he was also helpful. Pat Finney is an outstanding employee and went out of his way to help me which is very much appreciated and hard to find these days sadly. Thank you again for your outstanding customer service I will be returning to this location in the future thanks to you. read more

Terrible customer service and the people behind the counter dont know much of what they are talking about. Went in yesterday to pick up a part I had on hold. They then told me that they didnt have anything with my name and wanted to look up the car again. All she asked for was year make and model (no further specs) and then said okay I'll go grab it. In my mind she was going to grab the on hold part but she was just pulling a new one off the shelf and didn't bother to ask 2wd or 4wd. Working on the car last night at midnight realized we had the wrong part. When back in today and all we got was attitude. The girl told me it was my fault and In her words 'I should know the vehicle I drive better and should have known it was the wrong part'. I do know the vehicle I drive (very well)... and when I had the part put on hold I gave the man all the specs. Tried to price match and when they wanted to add on the 100$ the other company was going to charge for same day shipping (which we would have only needed because the truck was now in pieces behind a shop because we had the wrong part) i just said alright never mind we will just exchange the parts and go. She pushed some buttons and then handed us a receipt. I Went to grab the part to go and she said 'what are you doing?? That's not your part!' Turns out she just returned the one and didn't ring the other. After another transaction to buy the right part and a lot of attitude from the 2 female employees I walked out the door. Most awful customer service ever. Should have listened to the people who told us to go to oriellys or pep boys. I agree with the reviews that say to start clear of this particular store. Not the kind of thin you want to have to deal with while trying to repair your vehicle. read more
