I'm restoring an older car and need to purchase and pick up some oil transmission fluid and some gas additive. I have been walking around the last couple days on a bum leg and It was getting worse so I reached out online to autozone because they have curbside pick up. I ordered The items I needed and had to wait a couple days to pick them up because of my bad leg I paid for everything on PayPal. I called the store to make sure my items were being saved and they were. It's been 5 days and I figured I was in the neighborhood and I should stop by and curbside pick up my items. They have no instructions for their curbside pick up so I pulled up near the front door and called on the phone it was answered and I was immediately asked if I could be put on hold and I said yes. I could See through the windows they were very busy but just as fast the crowd left the employees standing behind the counter no custmwrs.in sight. I could see them picking up cups taking a drink and talking to each other I was still on hold watching all this. I hung up call back person answered II explained my situation about online order and the curbside pick up she checkedIf the items were still in stock they were still on hold with my name on them she said that she could bring them out but then told me I had to come in and sign and I said how does that help? Curb side pick up means I don't need to go in the store you're gonna bring it out I have a bum leg and I really shouldn't be walking on it can't you just bring it and put it in my car and I'll sign whatever you need? She said no I need to sign at the register pad. No one needs to sign All my items are paid for already online via PayPal I have a receipt that I can show you when you come to the car and ID she said I need to talk to her manager 2 minutes later she came back to the phone said no I would have to come in and sign or I could get a refund???? Come on now! It's sad to shop somewhere get all the way to the front door expect to have a service that is suppose to be provided and then they don't give it to you and then they have to give you a refund. I will have to move my choice of auto supplies to a different store but I want to make sure before I do that that I that everybody know who is listening here on the Yelp inderstands Curbside does not exist and although the individuals were kind on the phone they did not supply the service that was to the customers benifit or problem solved to the customers or my expectation. read more

Definitely worst autozone I've ever been to. I went to get something for my flat tire and the employee told me he didn't know how the "fix a flat" worked. So I asked him if anyone there could explain it and everyone said they "have no idea". The female worker said, "well there's instructions on the back" and I told them I had just followed the instructions and all it did was flow out the side of the can where the nozzle was. My husband is always working on cars and helping out our family and friends. So, we go to this store often because it is so close to our home and honestly because they have much of what we need. If we didn't have the conveniences, we would opt not to go. The lady manager is the rudest person. I have had some times when she was directly rude to me but often other times I felt myself getting angry just hearing her respond to the other customers. I cannot believe that AutoZone hasn't corrected her behavior. She was also rude to my daughter last week. When my husband was leaving this morning to go pick up some parts, she asked why he keeps going there to have have to deal with the terrible customer service. I just cannot believe that this is allowed and continues. By reading the other reviews, I am sure it is not the first time that that they are hearing this whether on yelp or other reviews. Terrible! Went in to dump my used oil, they told me to go to the back and tell someone there to dump it, then there was a man there and I told that I came in to dump the oil. So rude. He said either wait for someone else to help or dump it yourself. Like WHAT! it's not my job to do your job! He was rude. Why work in a place that you can get dirty and NOT want to get dirty. Salinas CA, North Main St. store # 5514 has some of the worst employees. Manager cursed at me. He would not give me a refund because he did not know how. I had the receipt. Not sure why they hire incompetent people. Something corrupt is happening at that store. Every time I go to O'Reilly's and they are as calm as a butterfly. Hec, out of all places Walmart may have better customer service then this place. Sadly AutoZone just lost a customer. I hope everyone else realizes this and take their business elsewhere. I'm not car savvy by any means, so I had MANY QUESTIONS, and to top it off this was my first time coming into Auto Zone. I spoke with Austin and Tyler. These two were very knowledgeable, and helped me figure out what i needed.   Tyler got the parts for me, and Jose rang me up. Yesterday evening 09/09/2020 at around 5:30pm I had a wonderful experience at this Auto Zone branch here at 1488 N. Main St, Salinas, CA. . I went in with the intent of buying brake pads for my 2017 GMC Acadia expecting the normal service from a store clerk. What I received from this specific employee was far from normal. Her name is Alma B., and she is a very exceptional worker in my eyes. She greeted me with a very positive attitude as I got to the counter, and from there the customer service was very great the entire time. Not only did she ask me questions about my vehicle and my intent of repairs, but she gave me so much information that I know for a fact I most likely wouldn't have gotten from the average employee at any given auto parts shop. That is because this wonderful woman was far from the average. She informed me about a discount promotion package that would save me money, and she also asked me if I had the accessories needed for the repair job based on her experience of customers with this same type of problem. In my 5-year history of buying brake pads at auto parts stores (and I do buy brake pads more often than the usual customer being that my occupation as a newspaper carrier involves driving nearly 100 miles a day all year round on a stop-and-go basis), I cannot recall once of an auto parts employee EVER asking me if I had the accessories needed for my repair job. That alone shows me that she really CARES for the customers. I also had a check engine light problem, and she gave me the diagnostics reader sanitized and all ( let it be known that employees aren't allowed to do the reading in the car themselves during this time due to COVID-19 precautions) . I went to my car, got the reading, and brought the reader back to her.....there was a glitch in the system, but Ms. Alma B. was very resilient in getting me the meaning of the code and problem by going to another employee computer and getting the reading from there. I can tell you that the average worker would have probably not made that extra effort, but like I said before, Alma B. is far from average. Also, if I am correct, I think I overheard her and her coworker talking about going on their lunch break at the time she was serving me. It sounded like her lunch break had started in the middle of her serving me, and yet she still stayed behind to ensure that I was well taken care of. I tell you, this lady was very professional, very full of productive energy, and very beautiful as well even behind a face mask. I just want to say that if her supervisor and superiors are reading this, let me officially state my strong opinion that this woman well deserves a raise. Ms. Alma B. (I don't know her last name, but that was the name I noticed on her tag). Please please please give her a substantial raise; she literally served me with much perfection, and the most ironic part of it all was that it looked effortless, which tells me that this is her natural self!! No gimmicks and no faking it. That is a person I can truly trust and would come back to make my purchases much more often at this store and yes, this branch. I took the time to write this long review because I don't mind giving credit where credit is due, and it is definitely due here in my experience with Alma B. and this Auto Zone branch. Oh, Autozone, how do I love thee...let me count the ways... 1. Good customer service 2. Knowledgeable staff 3. Good selection and well organized products. 4. Tested my car battery free of charge and I did not need to bring it into the shop. 5. Purchased a car battery from your Bakersfield location years ago and I was still in your computer system. Because the battery did not last the full amount of years advertised, you pro-rated a credit towards my new battery purchase. =) 6. You installed the battery for me and discarded my old battery. 7. All with a friendly smile even though the store was very busy. For that, I will continue giving you my business. BTW, Napa Auto parts off North Main does not even want to help change out the battery for you and you have to bring the old battery in the store in order for them to test it. Really bad customer service. They answered the phone and didn't seem friendly at all, I asked for a product they carry and is normally in stock, I just needed to make sure it was there. The guy that answered the phone was obviously moving things or stocking items as I could hear boxes shuffling around and something really loud crashing to the ground. He didn't even ask me to wait on hold when he answered the phone so I know he wasn't busy with a customer. He was very rude, I asked for the product and this guy just put me on hold without even letting me know. So close to 5 mins pass and no answer. I can tell the guy just didn't want to help customers and probably shouldn't even be working in customer service. I've never had someone be so rude and non-customer oriented at auto zone ever. Usually there good. I should stick with the Hollister store, they kick butt over there :). This guy should take notes from them, they value repeat customers and take time to at least fill you in on what's going on as far as them being busy. It's unfortunate, I love giving good reviews and mentioning the employees name so management can take note of the good work. He said " I told you three times" with a high aggressive tone. He literally didn't need to show any attitude and rudeness but he did. I was so pissed that I asked him kindly what he said to me "so you told me three times? I'm sorry I didn't hear you" I even apologized that I couldn't hear well but he repeated "Yes I told you three times" with the same aggressive tone. He didn't recommend me with any other types of battery options of 2 or 3 year warranty like any other Autozone customer service would do. I had to call another Autozone store to confirm that I wasn't overcharged by the rude Fabian C guy and provided me the right battery. This kind of customer service is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Stopped by to AutoZone earlier because I had a 20$ credit towards a purchase and decided to use this for car polish, dash cleaner, tire foam and some microfiber cloth. Total was 29 so I just paid 9$ . Reason I got the credit was for having 5 purchases of 20$ and more on previous purchases . I always come and get my engine oil and filter here and it's paid off. I was happy to hear that AutoZone was coming to South Salinas but now that they're here I am highly disappointed on the one on South Salinas they do not do justice compared to the other stores here in town ...the service is really slow and it seems like the people here really don't have a clue..on 3 different occasions I called in advance and asked for parts that I was in need of..each time they said that they had it but when I get there..they don't.. ...my advise .. if you want to get something from AutoZone go to anyone but this one on South Main...maybe they should ask for training. read more
