This happened about a month ago, and we are still disappointed by how the situation was handled. My parents are Mexican and are not fluent in English. While trying to communicate with an employee named Kevin, he was extremely rude and told them to "speak English." The way he spoke to them made them feel singled out and disrespected because of their language and background. My parents were so uncomfortable with the interaction that they decided to leave the store. Other employees were present and witnessed what happened. We contacted O'Reilly corporate to report the incident and gave them an opportunity to address the situation, but after about a month, we still have not received a meaningful response or resolution. Regardless of what language a customer speaks, they deserve to be treated with patience and respect. This experience was unacceptable, and we will not be returning to this location. read more

Because this store is located next to an ACE Hardware, convenience has found me attempting to purchase from this store many times. The past several times I've been in this store found me leaving and driving down the street to AutoZone, furious with the incredibly poor service. The staff could not care less about service or the customers! There appears to be absolutely NO-ONE managing or in charge! Absolutely ZERO professionalism care or concern for the customers! Today, my mechanic was awaiting the arrival of a part delivery to complete a routine service on one of the vehicles in our fleet. After almost an hour of waiting, he attempted to contact the vendor, Oreilly's on S. Main St. which is approx. four miles from his shop. He was placed on an indefinite hold, TWICE! The part never arrived. My mechanic could never speak to an O'Reily employee to determine of the part ever even left the shop! I had to drive to AutoZone myself to achieve the part and complete the service. I asked that my mechanic promise he would not deal with this parts store again if I was to continue having my vehicles serviced there! I have NO idea how this parts store stays in business! They certainly do not deserve to! read more

I went in for a battery test and I was told "I'm the only one here so I can't help you". Exact words. I have over 10 years of customer service experience and I would NEVER say that to a customer. Even if the manager was on break, I could have been told "would you mind waiting for 10 minutes, my manager is on break" I then had to go in and ask for a jump to go to another store. The manager Jose came out to give me a jump, never once saying he can help me change or test the battery. He was perfectly fine sending me to another store for them to help me. A manager leads by example and this means trying to keep the customer satisfied to the best of their abilities because a satisfied customer means they will come back and that means more revenue. They all need a retraining. My car would not start so he forcefully had to change the battery. But if it would have charged, he would not have changed it. I would have been at another location. read more

Kevin is the best he sold me the windshield wipers I need for my car. I was having such a hard time. AutoZone didn't even know how to install them and he installed them so quick and easy he knew what he was talking about and he save the day and took all the stress away so I could drive my car it's raining today so we appreciate him a lot. read more

Customer service is hit and miss. One clerk didn't have a clue what a distributor was, he didn't know much of anything, Even though he was given make, model, year of vehicle still couldn't get correct part that wasted my time driving 25 miles to return part. Had to make three round trips for an order part that never showed up and they didn't have a clue where it was at. Finally told them to call me when the part I ordered and paid for arrived at their store. read more

Never had such a horrible experience in a retail store. My wife purchased a battery for our RV this morning. She called first to verify they had the battery. She supplied the part number. They told her they only had one (we needed two) but their otheir orher store had one. She purchased the battery and as the employee put it in the car and retrieve the old one, she commented they did not look the same. Employee said they were essentially the same and the new one was even more powerful. Neither was true. I returned to the store and asked to speak to the manager. As I was explaining the problem, another employee (later identified as Mr. Martinez, the actual manager) interupted our conversation and said he overheard my wife asking for "any 6 volt battery". Mr. Martinez indicated my wife was lying, and he didnt know "what happened at your house", said the mistake was with my wife not his employer. He was profane, threatening, rude and disrespectful. O'Reilly needs to assess the value of this person as a reresentative. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE, UNLESS YOU WANT WO BE BULLIED, LIED TO AND THE WORT CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. read more

I had a negative encounter with Felix at this location. I had a special order to be picked up on a Friday afternoon, which I paid for when making the order. When I returned at the appointed time to pick up my order, Felix extremely rude: he ignored me. did not make me feel welcome, and refused to help another attendant find the item I ordered. It was obvious, awkward, embarrassing, felt like discrimination and I won't go back!!!! read more

O'Reillys deserve zero stars . Their services the one of the worst I have experienced. They don't know how to order anything right . The service is one of the worst at this location in Los Banos. I have shopped here for over years happy for the location conscience. Staff has never been stellar but at least in the past they where not rude little ass holes. Three times now I coughs a since from this one little punk behind the counter of something not quite right. Of a really crappy demeaning attitude. I blew it off whatever. But this last time this last time it was pretty blatant. It stared with me going up to the counter. This kid who's name I will soon be adding to this raising. It stared with him behind the register then me going to the register to ask about a part. Just before going tot he register I briefly looked at a K & N filter displayed on the sleeves in front of the the register. When I approached the employee he just stared at me with this fuck you look on his face. Then he said "I'm not helping you I just clocked out. Two other employees where at the other register talking. Then the guy says haha just kidding... so I begin to tell him what I need. Then he's "like not really I'm off". Another employee then broke in and said "hay what are you doing you clocked out I'll take care of it". While the on duty employee was helping me the first guy continued talking to the employee helping me. You know how someone talks about you with out really talking about you? They say just enough to let you know but then not. So dude says to the one helping me " so ( his name) are you a K & N guy"? Said with a sarcastic tone. The employee helping me just kinda blew him off like this is the other guys normal attitude. I can be very confrontative. Even to the point I can actually enjoy roasting a little ass like this guy. How ever I'd rather not have to do that. This guy is driving away business. For quality purposes I already have transitioned to buying parts at NAPA when replacing vital car parts I want to last. If this issue is not felt with I can go to AutoZone right down the street form O Reilly's. More to come with names and maybe even a video of me verbally roasting this punk. read more

I've been a customer of the O'Reilly's on South Main for years, and I've always been highly satisfied. In light of Parviz G.'s ranting, hateful, grammatically incorrect and often misspelled review, I feel the need to share a recent, great experience I had there. I went in with the expectation of purchasing a tail light. I was greeted when I walked in and asked if I needed help. I thought I knew what the part was, so I said I was ok. Once I got to the bulbs, though, I started to second-guess myself and decided to look through the parts catalog to double check. Another associate was at the back counter and saw me thumbing through the pages and asked if he could help me locate the part. He quickly found it in the computer, came over and retrieved it, then asked me if I needed anything else. Since that was all I needed, he immediately offered to ring me up. It was quick and much less expensive than I'd anticipated. When I walked out I decided to quickly swap out the bad bulb. After I did and tested it, the light was working inconsistently. I spent a couple minutes trying to figure out the problem when the employee who had greeted me came out to see if I needed help. After checking the connections he told me it was probably an electrical problem or that I needed a new tail light harness. He told me that in any case, it wasn't the bulb and offered to return the bulbs I'd just purchased, even though they were open! He even, offered a couple suggestions for shops that could take a closer look and wouldn't overcharge or try to get me to buy other services I wasn't in the market for. I really felt the need to share my experience after reading Parviz G.'s horrible rant. "Gangsta Maria" wasn't there, and I was one of only about 4 customers at the moment, but I was treated very courteously and professionally, as has always been the case. I have never witnessed other customers being ignored or mistreated, either. Sure, sometimes they can get busy and they do have just a couple employees at a time, but they give each customer the time and respect they deserve. Sounds to me like Parviz G. was having a bad day and decided to plop out some hateful, unfounded judgements. ( "...replacing qualified employees by tatted-out-toothless gangstas who know cars only because they steal them" - Really?!) Yelp has "reviews that are not currently recommended" and Parviz G.'s should be one of them. read more

We have been buying parts at O Reilly's (esp the one on S Main in Salinas) for years and appreciate their good values, price matching, oil recycling, etc. New Year's day we had trouble with a dead battery. The place where we bought the battery was closed for the weekend. A friend said go to O Reilly's... they always help! And they did! They put a charge on the battery and tested it. The next day I went in and they tested the battery again - installed. I also needed a tool to remove our Prius oil filter. They had a part sent over from the other store so they could check and be sure they sold me the right one. I worked with Silvester and Obaldo - they were efficient, helpful, patient and very knowledgeable. They not only helped get our car going again, they helped us understand the problem. As a twenty something young single woman, car issues are definitely not my area of expertise. I came in tonight because my car (2012 Honda Civic) had been dying and I assumed I just needed a new batterey. I came prepared and willing to spend well over $100 on a new batterey, not even considering the issue may not be the condition of the battery. I was greeted by Greg and he willingly and graciously removed my batterey and tested it. He found that it just needed a simple recharching. He was happy to not only recharge it for me, but also reinstall it. I ended up driving away 20 minutes later with a perfectly charged battery and a full wallet because he charged me NOTHING! He we courteous enough to help me out even without me making a purchase. I can't tell you how thankful I am to be driving a car I can now rely fully on but more than that I am thankful there is a place in town that I can fully trust will take care of any car needs I have without taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. Any car related purchases I need to make in the future I will now make at O'reilly's and will suggest to everyone I know to as well. In areas like Salinas it's important to know where trustworthy go to places are, and this is one of them. Don't go anywhere else. Also he helped a elderly woman next to me in the dark and cold while my battery charging all out of the goodness of his heart, he deserves some kind of award or something! read more

I was looking for some Prestone or a type of anti freeze that first came with my car and worked best for me. The salesman recommended the store brand that doesn't work as well. The clerk also said, "your wallet looks as beaten up as mine is" which I didn't find funny. A lot of asian model car owners need Zerex and I hope O Relly's puts it on the shelf. read more
