His a/c wasn't working (blowing warm air) and that 3 day trip here was unbearable during this summer heat wave. So, where do you go to get it fixed, without getting ripped-off? Since I am a AAA member, we drove to their office/auto repair shop on Saturday morning, in nearby Evergreen Park. They quoted $260 to do an a/c system evac/recharge & dye test. They were booked-up and couldn't do the job until the following Monday. Thank God for the internet, because we found "Certified Auto Repair" (incorrectly listed as "Certified Foreign and Domestic" on Yelp). We drove there and was greeted by Belal (aka "Bill") and he quoted $160 (a $100 savings) and could service the vehicle NOW. In less than 30 mins., the job was done. His vehicle was low on refrigerant, so the a/c compressor's clutch wouldn't engage. (That's why we couldn't diy add refrigerant ourselves.). It's now blowing ice cold air and the return trip to CA will be much more comfortable. Thank you Bill for your excellent service at a very fair price.

Most other places I know would charge a lot more for the same services. It's just little things that irritate me: when I had CarShield, they wouldn't release my car until they got the check from CarShield which was due to arrive IN THE MAIL. I guess CarShield itself could've done better by having electronic payments instead of paper checks. I also had a steering wheel cover that was fine when I dropped the car off but it was cracked when I got it back. The last experience was getting a few sensors replaced which did allow me to finally pass emissions, but the car door lock disappeared into the car door. Whatever held it in place had broken and the lock is now rolling around behind the panel of the car door. Overall the service is good for the price, especially if you can get in early and you can have the car back the same day. But those little things like I just mentioned above can be annoying. I will say, they were kind enough to replace the connector to my headlight (which wasn't working) after having spent almost 2K on other repairs.

When my daughter bought her new car, she naturally started coming here as well because of that same positive experience. A couple of years ago, the location became a Strickland Brothers franchise, but the same manager was still there, and that's what mattered to us. The service and professionalism we valued remained consistent. Yesterday, all of that changed. The usual manager was not there, and instead the person who claimed to be in charge was rude, condescending, and disrespectful. I won't get into the details of our exchange, but the young man's tone was confrontational and completely unprofessional. It actually hurts me to write this review because I value the places I frequent and I am a loyal customer. This was my "for sure" place -- the place where I knew I would get results, great service, and leave satisfied. Unfortunately, that trust is now gone, and I will be looking for a new place to service my car. It's disappointing that a place we trusted for years could lose a loyal customer because of one unprofessional employee. It matters

Had to use bolt extractor and a heat gun with a 24" breaker bar to remove drain plug. The oil filter (cartridge type) was twisted and partially collapsed. It was the cheapest Chinese filter. An actual Jeep/Mopar filter is only $6.99. I'm not sure the oil was even changed looking at that drain plug. Never going back there.
