I had my boyfriend order me my breaks online threw auto zone and even paid for PRIORITY OVER NIGHT SHIPPING & 6 days later they still had not arrived so I called 3 diffrent # about it and finally got to talk to a very nice lady who said she wasn't sure why but they had not even shipped yet. So I canceled my order & had to wait until Monday to grt my $ back on my card. But by tgen my routers were shot along with my old breaks. I had no more $ set aside for buying new ones. Got in and was helped by a very FRIENDLY attendant who knew a lot about Unreal Tournament (I was wearing a t-shirt about the game) and while we talked about it, he got wiper blades for my car. I left the store in less than 5 minutes. There is No Way I could have found the right wiper blades (New vehicle, first time replaced) in less than 10 minutes. TEDDY is your man! The battery in the car I was driving died and I called to ask if they sell the battery I needed. From the phone call, he was SUPER patient with me while guiding me to find where the battery was located in the vehicle, to telling him the numbers on the battery so he could figure out which one I needed. Once I got there, he tested my battery for me and then told me unfortunately they don't do replacements in this type of car because you have to remove plastic panel that holds it in place. He brought us some tools to get us started and then came back out when he saw us struggling and ended up helping us take the dead battery out and install the new one. He helped us for over an hour! I am just SO impressed with his customer service and patience-- he probably stayed way past his shift for us. This place pretty much ran Mikes Auto Parts out of business. Actually, Mikes ran themselves out of business since they rarely had what I was looking for in stock, their customer service was poor (very poor) and no one there seemed to actually like their jobs. I have occasion to go to Autozone once a year or so and they almost always have what I want in stock.... and at very competitive prices. They are happy to install simple parts like wiper blades and they seem to be unusually knowledgeable as far as parts usage and applications go. They aren't the friendliest clerks around but they are professional and efficient which is what I'm looking for when I need something. They do seem to be chronically understaffed though.... but I can usually get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I am generally not in favor of big chains driving out the "little guys" but in this case, the "little guys" (Mikes) was a very poorly run business that had been running on borrowed time for years. read more

I love that Autozone provides free battery testing. That said if there is even the slightest bit of rain, don't go to the location off of Murray, even if they are not busy they will not test your battery. My suggestion is to go to their Tigard location as they didn't have any issues testing my battery in the rain. Also I have found that the employees at the Beaverton location are just a bit grumpy and a whole lot less helpful. In contrast the employees at the Tigard location were very welcoming and helpful. read more

This Autozone opened semi recently in my neck of the woods. I always like them because they read codes out of your car and give a printout of what the codes mean for your auto make/model. And, they also lend you oddball tools needed to do some jobs for just a deposit. All these offered free of charge. Extremely amazing customer service. I came in with a dead battery, hoping to borrow tools and swap it out in the lot. Alex asked if I would like him to change it, I said I would do it, but could I get a wrench. He happily let me borrow a set of ratchets holding my credit card. Clearly the staff is given all the tools needed to be a great parts store, and it shows. After finishing the swap, I dropped the tools off and Alex let me know they have Orange hand cleaner in the bathrooms, and made sure to ask if everything started okay. Really impressed with the service here, especially Alex himself. He didn't feel like being nice was forced, and he genuinely enjoyed his job.
