Got in there looking for an auxiliary battery replacement. Parking should not usually be a problem and we got a spot right across from their entrance. We had already requested to put a hold on the battery before getting into the store. Martin helped us with the battery search and as well tried looking for a socket that we needed for the battery studs to host the auxillary battery. Huge shoutout to WENDY at the Almaden Expressway location!! I bought a car from a dealership nearby, and they did not perform the replacement of the battery as stated on the inspection list. The dealership told me if I had it done; they would reimburse me for the cost. So, I got that in writing and went around the block to the Almaden Auto Zone and was immediately helped by Wendy. She offered to swap out the battery for me and man did she have a heck of a time getting the old battery off. It was so corroded it took a good 20 minutes for her to get it off safely without damaging anything. She thoroughly cleaned the terminals and made sure everything was connected correctly before sending me on my way. I am so grateful she was there to help, and I was reimbursed for the battery. read more

I brought in the empty oil bottle l I had bought 2 weeks before. I brought it in so I wouldn't get the wrong bottle, since it's a hit or miss with the workers. It was 5 mins before closing, I asked the cashier if he could get me the exact same model because if I was left to it, I wouldn't somehow probably end up with something that wasn't even oil. I take out and it's late so I leave it in the cartel the next day and I noticed it's not even the same exact bottle one had a gold cap and the other had a black. I brought the used bottle to make it as easy as I can for the worker, since I know nothing about oil. But I did come 5 mins before closing. So he probably grabbed the most similar one, to get me out of there quick. read more

I went to the AutoZone on alum rock in San Jose. They had SHOP PRO fuel injector cleaner on sale $5.29 regular price, on sale at 2 for $5. I only needed one. It initially rang up at $5.79, not the $5.29 shelf price. I was expecting it to be $2.50, half the sales price. The sales associate said I had to buy two, although the sales tag did NOT have that detail. He pulled the 2 for $5. tag off the shelf. I wound up buying 2 bottles. I asked for my VETERANS DISCOUNT. I was informed that we only get a discount on FULL PRICE ITEMS- AUTO ZONE DOES NOT GIVE US VETS A DISCOUNT ON SALES ITEMS. I'll be shopping at other auto parts stores or on line. read more

Me and a friend went into the store with some confusion on a part and service, and CARLOS A. could not have been more helpful and kind in recommendations and explanations for how everything worked together- while also helping others in the store as well. I had just come from another car store where the workers didn't seem like they cared to help their customers at all (another Branch actually) but gave the bare mininum of help, but CARLOS made us feel like welcome guests and went above and beyond. Baffling experience. Brought a dead interstate battery in for a charge. Picked up 2 days later; not much said .. carried to my car. Installed it back in my second car - nothing. Checked the wiring and did a fairly thorough inspection. Checked the leads. Called back and asked if it was possible if the battery had not been charged. Maybe.....brought the battery back and it was determined that it wasn't charged. The explanation given essentially was it wasn't possible it wasn't charged since I brought it in to have that done but that the battery couldn't take a charge and was faulty. (?). I was to receive an education on how batteries were at fault if they could not be connected to the tester and so on. Brought the battery -under warranty as stated on the battery to Interstate where it was tested, not faulty and being charged. Should have been concerned when the AutoZone person said charging takes an hour. Baffling experience read more

THE BEST customer service!!! I went in looking for windshield wiper blades. I was immediately greeted when I walked through the doors. Connor who was at the registers came over and asked what he could help me with. Looked up the part I need for my car and made great suggestions on cheaper alternative. Took the time to double check that the part was correct based on make/model. Given I had never done this before, he went above and beyond to explain the process of removing the old blades and reinstalling the new ones. Alex was such a big help! I was in the wiper isle trying to figure out which windshield wiper I should get and he noticed me lost and asked if I need help finding wipers, I said yeah I should've done my research before coming in. He asked me what year and model my car was, I told him and he said he will check what size I would need. He checked in his computer and told me the sizes. He helped me pick which wipers to get that won't break my bank that much. He than asked if I need help installing them and I immediately said yes please! He took out my old wipers and omg I was embarrassed by how they looked he even looked at it and I said yeah no don't judge me I didn't know and we both started laughing. He got the old junky ones off and put the new ones on for me and picked up the trash after. My car was having trouble starting so I came here right away at 8am to have the battery looked at. The gentleman who was working was very nice and checked the battery. He let me know it was time for a new one and would go over pricing with me. There were 3 different kinds I could choose from and he let me know the pricing and warranty for all of them(and also gave his recommendation) I picked out the battery and he installed it for me right then and there - whole process took less than 30 minutes! The little battery symbol started showing up all of a sudden so I went to have the batteries and alternator tested. Test results indicated I need a battery and alternator. I pulled my old battery out and hunkered in with it. Their system showed several in stock so I figured I'd be good to go. At first they pulled the wrong battery off the shelf then they couldn't find any of the correct ones, even though their system showed at least 6 in stock. I said just sell me the one you can find for the price of the one you couldn't find. I guess that was too complicated ... so I was told "there is O'Reilly across the street, that's where that battery came from and it's got a 5 year warranty maybe it won't cost you anything to go there. The best we can do is 10% off." Wow, I guess I shouldn't even try and ask about the alternator then. I gave up going to O'Reilly because this sort of thing happened EVERY time I went there. Are margins seriously so tight that they would rather see a 400 sale walk out the door than give an extra 11 off a 190 battery. The correct battery is 160, they authorized 10% off the 190 ... difference +/- 11. Wow ... ok ... I guess that's how it has to be. read more

Im telling you, This happened when there were no other customers inside the shop except myself and them(workers). I called the number that was printed at the glass door, so I could give them a feedback about the service, but was ignored again! They kept telling me I had to go to the dealer for a piece for my battery - which in fact is a LIE ! A straight lie because the other auto zone helped me and was able to get it for me !!! Shops like this particular AutoZone are why I try to buy as much as I can online these days. The parking lot is a sea of discarded trash and fast food containers, the staff are dumb as bricks and can barely offer semi-intelligent help. Every time I've been there they've been unable to take used oil claiming that their tank is full. Every damn time. Today when I asked if they had small, single LEDs on dash mount housings the clerk tried to sell me a fucking H4 headlight bulb. I'm not even joking. I don't know who was more methed up, the clerk or the gangbangers who didn't even know what model BMW they're rolled up in to buy parts for. We walked in, and didnt get a greeting.. My bf and I were standing at the counter patiently because we needed to exchange something. While Ruben was complaining about the manager accusing him of being on drugs to a co-worker. A hispanic male walks in, Ruben asks him if he needs anything. My bf throws his hands in the air (literally) and catches the attention of the female co-worker and she says to Ruben "They were here first." So he reluctantly asks us what we need, as I'm telling him we need to exchange for another product he rudely says "OH I'm lunch I can't help you now" and walks away.. WTF? So someone else helps us and as we're checking out (not even 5 minutes has passed) Ruben is helping another hispanic male. Thats funny, never knew people took only 5 minute "lunches". Either that or he is racist, or maybe his manager was right about being on drugs. Anyway, GO TO THE AUTOZONE ON CURTNER OR MONTEREY. When I got there around 8, he got right on it even though he said he doesn't usually change them that late because he has closing duties. The door was locked BEFORE CLOSING I knocked on the door and the manager shook his head and continued counting the money I then said hello it's not closing time yet I need to return this please and he just said I already started counting the money go to another auto zone. I drove home and started to replace lights and of course I needed more. So I called to tell her so she could have the lights ready for me she got an attitude immediately and hung up the phone. I'm super passed at this point I call back and ask for a manager he answered the phone and I said um your employee just hung up on me and he goes can you hold I go um no because you're just gonna hang up on me and before I could finish my sentence he hangs up. So I came down to the store to ask what the fuck is going on. I couldn't even get 2 sentences in and he threatens to call the police on me! Saying that I was threatening and started making up crazy stories. Y'all can check the cameras I was never threatening. Never in my life has anyone ever called the cops on me. The way this place handles their business is a joke and it's embarrassing. I went across the street to Oriellys and they got me everything I needed and even came out and helped me. Needed a fan clutch removal tool. Why buy specialty tools, when you can rent it? They rent specialty tools here - for the nice price - free, just leave a refundable deposit with your credit card. Voila! Customer service: fine. Parking: ok. Tip: if you shop here a few times a year, you can get %10 percent refund; just fill out and get yourself and Autozone Club card. I came here many times with no problems with this location's customer service and they never had a problem with price matching, but recently i had a poor experience with an elder white man with glasses who gave me attitude for no reason and he refused to price match me because he said they didn't price match. I told him i've been price matched here multiple times and he still refused to price match me. On top of that his face was exposed while he was talking to me. Super unprofessional, i felt like he didn't even want to help me out to be honest. It is what it is but poor customer services by this guy. read more
