Even though he was busy, he took the time to make sure I got the exact bulb I needed for my car and explained the options so I could stay within my budget. Worst customer service I've ever experienced and worst manager I've ever seen. Ordered a bottle of oil online and went straight to the store. I got to the store and she employee kept bringing the wrong bottle. He'd look at the order then walk away. I was patient and just looked around and played on my phone. After like 15-20 minutes the manager walked up to me and handed me a receipt. I looked at him confused. He said "we processed a return". And walked away. No "hey we don't have what you ordered so let me make it right by giving you a better oil". Maybe we can sell the better oil at a discount". Not even a "sorry sir, we don't have what you ordered and we've refunded your money". No one told me they were doing a refund, just handed me a receipt and walked away. I only had like $12 in the bank before I ordered this bottle so I couldn't even get another bottle. I asked how long it would take to get into my account and he said "we did our part". That's it. Rating should be ZERO. I went to get a replacement battery expecting it to be installed. They wouldn't install it because the three employees at the counter were too busy picking their noses. Almost no customers in the store. So I went home to install it myself. I dropped one of the bolts securing the battery. It disappeared inside the car. I went back to the store to get a replacement bolt. Of course they were out of stock. I expressed unhappiness with doing business there. The clerk got belligerent and hostile. Practically threw the refund for the old battery at me. It was Mathew. I sent an email to customer service describing my experience. I got an email back apologizing for the situation. Assured me someone locally would get in touch with me in 24 hours. No one called. Several days later I sent a second email. Another condescending apology with the assurance that someone would call me next day. No one called. Third email produced same outcome. I called the store on July 26th. Matt answered the phone promptly and professionally. Looked up the wiper blades for my car and offered the assistance to put it on, since I didn't have time to go to the garage. Once I arrived there, it started pouring really hard. I would've gone back when the rain had stopped, but my car's wiper blades had completely stopped working. Matt fell guilty making me wait any longer. He came out in pouring rain, read the instructions for my Audi and within no time he succeed installing both of the wiper blades. WOW! Where do you get service like that, when the garage would've given me the appointment for a different day. When I offered him a small amount for his willingness to go above and beyond, he said it was unnecessary. The two blades cost me $62.00 which is a little steep, but it's the service that will keep bringing me to Auto Zone Waltham. Hope he gets recognized in some ways. Jeeeeeeeeeeesus..this place is awful. First of all, terrible customer service. Straight ratchetry. Guy was unshaven, unprofessional, and on his phone the whole time when he was ringing me up. I don't even want to give one star- but I'm forced to. I just had the worst experience at this autozone. I was given the worst customer service by Jim F. At the autozone store number 5254 located at 140 Lexington Street, Waltham MA 02452. I went in to the store tonight to return a duralast battery that I bought for my dad. When I walked in, it was a ghost town and per usual the workers were just sitting around doing absolutely nothing. I would have expected to be greeted with a hello but nothing. I walk up and say I need to return the battery- Jim F comes out and tells one of the employees something... whispers and they were sort of giving me a hard time about returning. Asking what felt like so many interrogative questions about the battery and it's use/ there was none! Just return it. Finally they tell me to go over to another counter where a man named Al who literally was just counting down the minutes to his shifts end taps on the computer, asks Jim for a password and then tells me to move back to the first counter for the refund. There was some error that he couldn't handle. Jim comes back out and mutters something about "Debbie and this damn computer system" and tells me to slide my debit card into the system. I asked him why I'm not getting cash per the sign and he says please just slide the card in. I do as I'm told and nothing. He takes my receipt goes back over to the other register... starts tapping away for 20 minutes. I stand I'm silenced, masked up, with my toddler in the car with the babysitter waiting to be dropped off at home... for 20 minutes. I finally say to Jim F. Is everything ok? And he says yea Yea I'm almost done. He finally comes back over to the original register, processes the refund but the amount displayed on the screen is $10 short. I ask why is that? He says it's the Massachusetts tax I can't help it. I say to him, can you please explain that logic? I paid $155.18 for this battery that includes the tax charge, I want $155.18 back. Simple, rudimentary logic. When I ask again for an explanation, he says "ma'am fine I'll give you the rest back, I'm not supposed to but I am". As if Jim F is doing me a favor. When I ask again for an explanation he tells me "he wants no problems" and throws the remaining money at me like I'm some dog he needs to shut up. I can't help but think that me being a black woman questioning him made him automatically go on the attack mode. Terrible patronage. And what's worse- he had his two Employees there just watching, not caring... not trying to help either one of us. I have frequented this store in the past and it just has gone down hill. In a pandemic- especially now ... money is everything. I'm still trying to understand his logic of why I was not deemed entitled to my full refund. I will be writing reviews all over yelp, google, Facebook, autozone corporate everywhere. I would not shop at this location. The worst customer experience ever! I will make sure to tell anyone who will listen to not shop at this location. I didn't even get an apology for standing there, for over 20 minutes just waiting. I wasn't worth that! Stay Away.... Went to Autozone to pickup some detailing supplies for my car. The store layout is easy to navigate which is a plus and the reason for the one star. The associate at the counter was downright rude and condescending and did not look like she wanted to be there. My conversation went something like this: Me: Hi how are you? Associate: "Cash or Credit" Me: Um, Credit Associate: Scans my items while I get out my credit card to pay. Associate: "Not yet" (asking me to not insert the card), "Use the pen" (asking me to use the pen to navigate the card reader). Associate: Bills me and tosses the receipt on the counter. You would think with the proliferation of online shopping, that brick and mortar businesses would treat the people who take the pain to come into a store with a little respect. But not this place. I needed seat covers for my Honda hrv and went to auto zone. I was greeted by someone who showed me the various seat covers. Once I purchased them,I asked if he would be able to show me how to put them on. He said to pull up my car and if he had a free minute he would. He came right out and put them both on for me. I am embarrassed to say that I probably would have needed assistance to put these on myself. It was one of the first hot days we have had. They helped me immediately, and the super nice man working there (didn't catch his name- had a mustache) installed all of them and even taught me how to do it myself in the future. He was really nice, but was short staffed & said that they couldn't install it today. He recommended that I go to the Waltham location because they would be able to do it for me. I arrived at the Waltham location and came up to the man at the counter to explain what was going on. He interrupted me and said "We don't do batteries bro." I said "You don't install batteries?" I stopped by this morning, in a rush to make an appointment, because the left wiper arm on my wife's Civic was sticking up in the air and doing not much good since the blade had fallen apart. I went on autozone.com to find car seat covers. I found a package I really liked - two front seat covers, 5 headrests, a backseat cover, four floor mats and a steering wheel cover, all for 60 dollars! It said that it was available in store. So I went after work to see if I could get it, I showed them what I was looking for and showed that it said this was in stock. I got the rudest glare and they said they didn't have it. Now.. his employee never checked a computer to see if they had it in he back or even looked on the shelf. I was just told "we don't have it" I was a little bummed, but said ok... and asked if they could show me the aisle with the covers and I'd see if I could find something else. I was pointed to the aisle, not escorted to or even told "it's aisle 7" he lifted his arm and pointed. Oooookayyyyyyy... I asked how I was supposed to know if the cover would fit my seats (online you could put in your make/model and appropriate options popped up). They said "well, you don't... you just try, and if they don't fit you return" I thought that was a little odd, so I told them that online I was able to insert my make and model and brands and options popped up. They told me there's nothing they can do... and walked away from me. Thanks asshole. So I figured.. well fine, I'll order online, so I then went to look at steering wheel covers, I figured I'd buy something while I was there, I asked the difference between two covers and all I got was "well look at them.... what do you think" um, other than the color, if I had a clue I wouldn't be asking, Einstein! Other than being treated rudely by one employee, I can't say that this store is terrible. My star rating is based on customer service experience. The store offers a lot of great products, if you know exactly what you're looking for, or get a different employee to help you, great.... but this dude should go to a customer service workshop for sure. read more
