Was in town and came by to try the new Haitian restaurant. 8:30 on a Sunday when it says they're open until 11. Definitely not open.

The food was packed with delicious mouth watering flavors! The drinks were delicious vibrant in flavor & appearance while also being slightly strong just how I like it. The star of the show was the oxtails & black rice, the oxtail were very flavorful and falling of the bone. The black rice was slightly sweet with an earthy undertone. I also had jerk chicken quesadillas it was very flavorful and had sautéed peppers and onions mixed cheese so you can request to have it without those things. I had the sweet chili wings, it was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It came with two sauces Cilantro sauce spicy aioli sauce, the aioli sauce had just the right amount of spice not too overbearing. The customer service was top tier the server main priority was making sure I was satisfied. The ambiance was nice and cozy.

pretty nice food, and good service. I like bbq here it taste delicious.

Excellent services, quite place places with delicious food all food here are fresh. Nice place to go if you don't know what you decide to eat!

Oxtail, Black Rice, Salmon, Mashed Potatoes, Fried Plantains! All so amazing

Truly had such an amazing time. The food was so flavorful and the ambiance/vibes were everything. We also had the best bartender / server - Phantasia ! 10/10 would go again

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by Autumn's Place(a new and upcoming Haitian restaurant)for the 1st time after seeing an Instagram post my homegirl had posted. I decided to go after a long stressful day at work for a bite and a cocktail.I had the pleasure of meeting 2 very pleasant and friendly bartenders (see pic of one of them). They were definitely people person and great conversationalist and made me feel welcomed as a 1st time customer. They were best!!I I met 2 of the owners in which one of them was named CJ whom was also nice to me,made me feel welcome and also was a great conversationalist.I loved the area the establishment was located in,ambiance of the restaurant/lounge/bar.The appetizer I had was delicious and the Barbancourt Rum punch was to die for(tasty and strong).Might I add they offer happy hour.I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends/family and will be going back.XOXO Autumn's Place

I really wanted to try this restaurant because I follow and appreciate what Chef Nadege does for…read morethe Haitian community, so I was excited to support. The space is beautiful and very well decorated, and the servers were kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the djon djon rice bowl with oxtail, the fritay platter, and soup joumou, and we also tried the Sunday special with white rice and sos pwa. My dish came out after everyone else's, so I ended up taking it to go, which was disappointing. The fritay platter was a highlight. The plantains were crispy and the akra and marinade were well seasoned. My mom enjoyed her soup, but felt the sos pwa was a bit watery and could have been thicker. When I got home, the rice had a great texture but the aroma smelled slightly burnt, maybe they were going for a smoky flavor. The oxtail was well flavored, but I did find a small piece of plastic in my rice, which was concerning. Overall it was okay, but it did not blow me away. I have had better Haitian food at cookouts or family gatherings, though if this is your first time trying Haitian food, you may enjoy it.

It's not like one was actually reserved, but hey, it worked out, so I'm happy about that. Onto the food: I am half Haitian, and I may not speak Haitian Kreyol, but I know my Haitian food. I can prove my Haitian ethnicity by cooking traditional dishes. The legume was on point! That dish was my favorite. My friend truly enjoyed her salmon. Honestly, I wish I had gotten the salmon to take home instead of the Haitian fried chicken. Now, that wasn't that great to me, and I didn't enjoy it :( I'm still giving them all the stars and all the props because I really appreciated the service. This was my first time trying a Haitian patty with spinach, and it was absolutely fantastic. I think it's even better than the chickpea one. I would definitely highly recommend this place and also go back. But the Haitian fried chicken need to be better. Still, I'll definitely come again and try the salmon next time!!!

Don't let the ambiance fool you…read more Macaroni Au Gratin is bland with consistency of imitation cheese whiz? I can't put my finger on it but it didn't have a flavor of ANY blend of natural cheeses. I'd know, I'm a cheese connoisseur! Perhaps they use imitation cheese. Simply put, their macaroni au gratin is inauthentic as in no veggies (onions, bell peppers) nor ham or ground beef used either. At least the Diri Djon Djon and Lalo was decent. I've had better Salad Russe. It was either missing onions or salt. The condiment cup of Pikliz is shorter and smaller than the usual 1.5 oz. Most restaurants provide sizes 2 oz and larger and that's how I was able to tell the difference. I never even knew those solo dipping cups came any smaller! Probably so you can ask for more so they can charge extra. Not only do they make sure to cut corners on the Pikliz. Which wasn't even enough to mask their thick, brown, over-fried, DRY and STALE bannann peze that has been sitting out. After they cut the plantains they don't soak in salted water. Bannann peze SHOULD NOT be so thick, should be made-to-order and served hot, fresh, golden and crispy. Just look at their photos and see for yourselves compared to other bannann peze / tostones you've eaten / seen. Then to ask if I need utensils for a to-go order? No ma'am, I'll be using my fingers and eating out of my hands today, thanks for asking. Don't ask, just automatically include utensils in the bag for the astronomic amount you charge for your food. Chain restaurants or even mom & pops all simply include utensils and napkins when preparing to-go orders. Only time to get away with that is when delivering. At which most times customer may decline since they're home / work and may already have those items. Price point - garbage for side of macaroni au gratin I'll let you all be surprised for yourselves on the rest on menu. * If anyone gave this restaurant 5 stars... they're obviously not Haitian and/or their tastebuds are shot.

I ordered the $12 medium griot fritalle (fried pork), which came with 3 Akra, 4 pieces of fried plantain, and half of a sausage; pikliz. The fried pork pieces were mostly fat and looked like the side dish for $5; literally, i counted 7 pieces. Nothing too special in taste, really bland, not even a hint of salt n pepper; even the pikliz didn't help. The Akra was good, and the sausage was good. Also, I got a side of black rice, and that also was just Ok. The food was hot, at least. I appreciate the delivery from bedstuy, but I don't think I would order from there again. They didn't even send sauce with the rice. Smh. I was planning on going in person, but now I don't know.

I settled on Haitian food, and after some Googles I settled on Anmwey Eatery. The reviews were good and it was only a 5 minute drive from my mom's house. I ordered at the counter when I arrived. I knew I wanted griot (fried pork) with black rice, so that's what I ordered. They were busy, so my food took about 30 minutes to be ready. I was fine with the wait. The bar seats were comfy and I was on my phone. There was also loud reggae music playing from the other room, so I was jammin. I got home and dug into my food and it was almost perfect. The griot was delicious. Just crunchy enough on the outside and tender on the inside. The black rice was a little disappointing, but nothing major. I love black rice, but it lacked flavor. Luckily they give you a side of gravy, which was tasty. I should've taken the girl at the counter up on her offer to get an extra side of gravy. I still devoured everything though. It also came with fried plantain. I'm not a huge fan of unsweet plantain, but it was good when I added the picklez to it. Picklez is spicy, so tread lightly if you don't like heat. 5 stars for Anmwey. I will certainly return.
