I've been coming here for almost 4 years and have always had great experiences, which makes this especially disappointing. Today I came in for both nails and a pedicure. My nails turned out great with my usual technician Tom but my pedicure was a completely different experience. The technician Brady had a bad attitude almost like he was annoyed he had to do my pedicure with a shitty attitude the entire time....he did not clean under my toenails, did not trim my cuticles, my nails were all uneven with white polish all over my toes. He was also on the phone during my appointment which came across as unprofessional and inattentive. When I brought this to the manager (Sarah), the focus was only on the polish color "looking fine," instead of addressing the quality of the actual pedicure. Please find pictures attached!! I was offered a redo, but after already being there for a long time, 4pm u til 6pm I was unable to stay & ready to go at that point Despite the poor service, I was still charged $40 for the gel polish and French because I was "leaving with their product on my toes" After being a loyal client for years, that was really disappointing. A pedicure is more than just polish--it's the FULL service--and unfortunately that standard was not met today. Sadly, this experience and the way Sarah handled it has made me decide not to return. Nikki does an AMAZING job with my nails - my nails have never looked this good - highly recommend! She is great to sit with and chit chat too while she is working so it's really enjoyable to come and get my nails done. She knows what she is doing too, you can really see it in the quality of the nails and the close attention she pays to the details. Price wise, the salon itself is a little more expensive than some other nails salon even with the 15% Happy Hour Coupon, they charge $61 for Gel X refill (other nail salons charge $45-$50) and for French style they charge an additional $15 so price wise they are a little more expensive than other nails salons but again you get the VERY BEST nail service here at Avaline and Nikki always does an amazing job so it's worth the extra cost for great quality nails and excellent customer service. Stay away! You would think from reading the reviews this place is great. The furnishings in the place are bare bones and the lighting is terrible. Everything looks old and grungy, including desks, chairs ,and pedicure area. I went once before and had a bad experience, the girl cut my finger, i was bleeding, and took 3 hours for a gel pedicure and gel manicure. I said i would never go back but i was already in the parking lot for something else so I hesitantly went back. I was the only person in there but between 3 people they couldn't figure out who was going to do my nails. Turns out one woman, who the "manager" sent me to, did not in fact know how to do hands, just feet. She also looked like a sleeping homeless person. I should have left then. I had gel on my hands which i wanted to remove and since my nails were so weak underneath and breaking i was going to go natural. The girl had to cut my nails so short, even below the quick, because they were so brittle. and damaged. She agreed it was best to hold off on any polish. She did put hardener on, which I requested, and I started to air dry my nails with a crappy small fan. It was during this time the "manicurist" pulled off the big band aid right on her wrist and proceeded to show me her nasty cut/burn. I was so grossed out. She then goes and gets the quick dry spray, which i did not ask for, and proceeds to heavily spray my nails at a very close range. It was excruciatingly cold. I left the salon and by the time i got home, 4 blocks later, I was in complete pain. I barely got in the house, and when i did, i was curled in a fetal position on the floor for over an hour. I have never been in so much pain. My fingertips were burning! I almost went to urgent care it was so bad. I did a google search and found out that on healthy nails the quick dry spray is fine, but on damaged nails, quick-dry sprays contain volatile, fast-evaporating chemical solvents. On healthy nails, these evaporate harmlessly off the surface. On damaged nails, it seeps through the cracks or thin layers and make direct contact with the highly sensitive nail bed underneath, causing bad chemical stinging and burning. The next day i called to let them know what happened and to get a refund on my nails, which i thought appropriate. I told them i wanted to give them the opportunity to let the nail tech know not to use that spray on damaged nails to save other clients, and to give them the opportunity to make it better, not right directly with me instead of me blasting them online which i am doing now. Mark the manager was so extremely rude, said i must have had an allergic reaction and was not at all their fault. Since i did not have photos or video they would not refund me. I told him there were no photos to take since the issue was in my nerves, not visible to the skin. As for videos, i was doubled over in pain! He did not care. As for all their great reviews online, the first time I was there, the girl had these cards printed she gave out that said you would get $5.00 off if you left 5 star review. She told me that is how she got all her reviews. There are so many other places to get your nails done in a clean professional environment. I was being lazy. Do yourself a favor and get your bubble tea, if you need it, in a cafe and skip the nails here entirely. This is really one of the only reviews i have ever written, it was that bad! read more

This was my first time visiting Avaline Nails & Spa, and I'm so glad I stopped in. I was greeted by Liz, who was incredibly welcoming and walked me to my seat. She introduced me to Alana, my nail tech, who took care of both my manicure and pedicure. Alana was friendly, patient, and didn't judge me at all even though I hadn't had a pedicure in years poor thing had her work cut out for her! As a man, I really appreciated how comfortable and welcomed I felt the entire time. They also offer drinks, and I tried the watermelon boba tea... absolutely delicious. I usually don't write reviews but this was so frustrating I had to! I've gotten my nails done here a few times usually great work I've been getting my nails done for years so I know what's good and what's not, I go in for a full set because my set was older and grown out and I wanted a fresh new set to last at least 2 weeks!! First off, the appointment took over 2 hours. 2 and a half hours for nails is crazy! They looked good though so I tipped well and was happy with the results! 2 Days later off pops one. A few more days later I loose two more, the rest all start wobbling off my nails, getting caught in my hair, all of them could easily be snapped off at this point. read more

Would not recommend. When I first walked in I was very excited by the boba tea and variety of nail design options. I called in advance for a lash appointment, was turned away once I arrived and waited because the lash technician did not have the tools needed. I stopped here after Vigo Wax (highly recommend), without an appointment. Ivette (spelling?) attended to my pedicure. She was great! Detailed! I like the fact that when I sat down they handed me a service card with the pedicure options and pricing. I selected the basic pedicure which fit my timing needs perfectly. Pricing was usual for the area. They also have a coffee/tea bar offering Boba Tea. There were a few who came in just for tea. My only complaint, which didn't affect me, was the organization. All of the employees seemed unsettled and unsure when someone came in. Didn't help that 99% did not speak fluent English and also not the same language. It was almost comical. Then the credit card machine was not charged so it took some time to figure that out. All in all, I'll be back for Ivette and I'll bring cash. read more

All staff here is super friendly and professional and the new manager has made the appointments go even more smoothly and organized. Sara, the owner, have offered exceptional and high quality skin-care services that has rejuvenated my skin tone and texture. I so far have tried her oxygen, and brightening facial which can be combined with the most relaxing foot massage that my husband and I have ever had! This is my honest review, if I could give zero stars I would. I went to this place with my sister and mom off a whim. We all got pedicures I got a gel pedicure with acrylic layover on my big toes ONLY which cost 90$!! Plus i tipped 10$ before I knew the price, so 100$ for a terrible pedicure just for ME! I wish I could add a picture to show what a terrible job the lady did not only was everything uneven and blotchy she cut me too. My mom and sisters pedicure cost 60$ for a regular gel pedicure and it was also a terrible job done by the other nail tech. Never in my life have I ever payed so much for a pedicure. and I've been getting my toes and nails done at different salons for over 10 years and the most I've EVER paid for a pedicure where I've gotten acrylic on EACH toe was 65$. So be warned do NOT come here if your looking to get a nice pedicure for a regular price. They are scammers and the environment was terrible as well everything is cramped and they only have like 3 techs so be prepared to wait for an hour if you come here. The salon is nice, and they do it all: hair, nails, brows, BOBA TEA and more. Everyone was very nice, but my manicure was terrible. I request almond shape, I got round. The guy cleaning up my nails cut me twice with the dremel tool, and then buffed the tops of my nails so hard/fast it was burning me (after I made him aware multiple times). He painted my nails so unevenly (painted cuticles, missed sides, etc.) that the manager came over to check and had someone else remove the polish and start over. She did a good job, and was very sweet. But it's 3 hours later and the polish still isn't dry. My manicure is ruined. What a waste of my time and money. No refunds. Go figure. read more

I was beyond disappointed with what I received. It is clean inside, but these are the worst nails i have ever gotten in my life. I got a Russian manicure and regular pedicure. I left with my feet very rough, I wish they were taken care of more for a $39 dollar pedicure. And almost $60 dollars for the Russian manicure which I typically would not complain about. She did a good job cleaning the nails down to the cuticle, but the gel polish came out horrendous. It was placed so low that it looked like I had it done 3 weeks ago, not same day. I had to go back to work, and I am not one to complain. But then I realized how much I payed, (it was even more than they said originally) and asked for a refund since I drove far to get there in the first place. they said they have a policy against refunds, but that they would fix it. Again I drove very far, and left even more disappointed this time. She shaved off a layer and put two more blobs of color on and cured with gel. My nails are the size of bubbles! The BOTS are leaving fake 5 star reviews for the same businesses. Please note this is the evening before New Years Eve. I am attending a gala. An immediate resolution of the appointment was needed. A Monday resolution was unacceptable. I was a regular customer until today. I established this salon as my new salon as I relocated to Fort Lauderdale recently. I typically go for nail services, but I decided to establish Sarah as my new lash technician after giving her a referral of my best friend, which we were both generally satisfied with her lash work. Upon completion of her work, she asked me if there's any areas she should fix, which is typical of eyelash extension services. I asked her to fix some areas of concern on the outer corners. I told her I was very satisfied with the majority of her work, and only an isolated fix on the outer corners was required. It should be mentioned before my services, I forewarned her that I had limited natural eyelashes on the outer corners, and that it would be OK if it was not perfectly full and even. She replied, "don't worry, I have a trick for that." I then replied, I assume you will be putting extra fans on the outer corners to fix the gap. She stated yes, that was her plan, and I told her please be careful because the natural lashes might not be strong enough to maintain the extra fans. I asked her to remove the clumpy fans that had too much glue applied that was visible. I asked her to reapply fans without an excessive amount of glue, or just individual lashes to finish the job. The right eye outer corner issue was because the regrowth eyelash extensions were not removed and therefore created a problem. The left eye outer corner was an issue because too many fans with an excessive amount of glue was applied. I then learned she used black glue because she stated it was stronger which is false because the black carbon dilutes the bonding adhesive. Sarah refused to attempt any correction. I then realized she had another upset lash client that she was tending to while I was left in the room waiting for resolution. At one point, Sarah needed to walk the upset lash client to the shampoo bowl to flush her stinging eyes. Sarah claimed to be the owner and told me to cancel my powder full set nails and gel luxury pedicure for tomorrow. I was absolutely shocked by her unprofessional behavior. I expected to pay full price and tip generously after 10 minutes additional time to correct her minor issue. Sarah basically threw me out of the salon, had an emotional breakdown complaining of heart issues and threatened to call the police. As a business owner, this is the worst customer service I have ever received. Now that I am home and the glue has started to dry, my outer corners are hanging against my face scratching me. While left alone in the lash room, I looked behind the curtain only to find a very unsanitary and disorganized station of supplies and tools. I doubt Sarah is properly licensed and I now question if their sanitation practices are within compliance. This salon just loss 4 regular customers averaging $200-$600 in monthly spend each in regular services. If Sarah is not the owner, I'd expect a call from the real owner to correct this matter. Without proper resolution, I plan to file a BBB complaint and with other jurisdictions as well. My usual hairstylist was booked so I opted for this location due to the great yelp reviews. When I called to book an appointment, I was asked what state my hair was in which is an appropriate question. When I told him it was curly, he told me I need to come in sooner due to the fact that my hair will take longer. I've never had this question asked, even at prior blow bars, but I assumed it was due to their high traffic location, my last minute booking, and them needing to allocate time slots appropriately which I completely understand. When I walked into the salon, the receptionist greeted me nicely and introduced me to my stylist. He asked my stylist how much it would be for my hair (starts off at $40) and she looks at him and said "hmm.. I'm thinking $55". I think the receptionist saw it on my face that I was confused and taken aback.. $55 for a wash and straighten just because I have naturally curly hair? The receptionist gave her a look without me saying anything at all and they settled at $45. When I called to book the appointment, I asked if the service also consisted of flat ironing my hair and he said yes but ultimately I only received a blowout. I felt rushed therefore I didn't speak up and let her know that I wanted it flat ironed as well. The stylist asked me if I'd like any sprays added and I told her the anti-humidity one would be great and she handed me the bottle and walked off. My hair, when curly, is shoulder length and and a 3b, nothing too crazy. The blowout lasted all of 30 minutes before my hair started to frizz and I had to do my hair by myself. I'm not going to name the stylist because I feel like she did try, to an extent, and it's not my intent to discredit anybody but when you call yourself a hairstylist in 2019, you shouldn't be intimated by any type of hair. Sure, stylists have their specialties and preferences but you should be able to work with any texture of hair whether you prefer it or not. I don't mind paying additional money for services when necessary, but I felt very unwelcome just based off of the fact that my hair is naturally curly. I could've raised these concerns while in the salon but I feel like certain things shouldn't have to be said and by the time all was said and done, I tipped my stylist well and kept it moving. Now please keep in mind this review is based off of my experience with a single stylist and if she happens to read this: You were sweet and personable but I didn't feel welcome in your chair based off of my hair type. This isn't a race thing or anything like that, it's just that I could sense your unwillingness to work on me and I feel like that should've been communicated so I could've been placed with a more suitable stylist. The salon is in a nice location, the salon itself is clean and the receptionist was warm and personable. Maybe this is a one off experience and I'd "maybe" be willing to give this place another try but I honestly felt out of place. read more

I found this place through Yelp while looking for a blow out bar. This Salon is located in the strip mall on the SE corner of Oakland and US1, it is very nice on the inside, very modern, new but very small. There are 3 chairs for blow outs. I had called ahead of time to schedule my appointment, Mario introduced himself and said he would be taking care of me, and that it would be a few minutes until one of the sinks would be open, it only took a few minutes to wait and then he took me back to the sink, it was a single sink in a small room, it was comfortable but the wall I was facing had an ugly shelf to look at which looked unfinished, it just didn't fit with the rest of the decor. I wasn't given a robe or anything to cover my back with, I have very long hair, so after Mario washed my hair and tried to dry it with a small towel the water dripped all over my back and down my neck, I was soaked and not too thrilled he didn't see this coming. I should have spoken up before he asked me to remove my head from the sink. He then walked me to one of the chairs and proceeded to untangle my hair, I don't think he had a lot of experience with very long hair, my regular salon uses a Wet Brush, I also have one at home and they are amazing for long wet hair, but poor Mario detangled my hair with a large comb, which pulled and sometimes hurt, so now I am soaked and in pain. But I also felt bad for the guy because he was really nice. He did a pretty good job drying my hair with the blow dryer but after I showed him several photos and told him I wanted a lot of volume he just lacked the technique to get the look I was going for accomplished, he finished it off with a curling iron to give it some wavy effect as what I had shown him on the photos, but it was lacking the volume because he didn't use the big round brush, I felt I could have done it myself because he didn't do anything special. The salon is small but nice, and the staff was also very friendly, the total was $35 but I also used the $5 off Yelp coupon so it wasn't bad for $30, but I guess you get what you pay for, I think a more experienced stylist would have not allowed for me to get soaked and would have known how to maneuver a large round brush on long hair. read more

Erin the receptionist is a bubbly bright beautiful being welcoming you with a lovely smile. The ambiance is likewise cheerful and clean and an almost childlike innocence. The best part is the the head stylist Cher uses Moroccan Oil products which are the best by far. I got partial highlights and Cher is master at foils and free striping. I was lucky to be the last client so it was quiet and had full attention I love the color she created and the stick straight blowout. I've found a great new place to come for all my hair care needs. I'm very picky about my hair but the stylist Kiara totally get how I wanted my hair.Also made an appointment to come back to get my lashes done! :: Just finished my keratin treatment.
