Great Food and soup too. They really served it hot specially the soup( clam chowder) reasonable Price. With good view in any seats just watch on the seagull around that could poop on what u eat or even fly over you. read more

The yellow tail grilled fish was very fresh. Good Bloody Mary. Great location on the pier. Fun and there were some healthy grilled options. Margaritas are meh, but if you like Rose's Lime you might like them better than I did. You're there for the seafood though and it's good. I asked a local where the best place to grab some fish and chips was and they directed me to Fish & Chips... Shocking! It's very quaint, a walk up counter with a small umbrella covered seating area but the views from the pier are pretty stellar. We also tried the catch of the day taco - swordfish. It was very buttery and the salsa and cabbage were great. Everything was hot and fresh, their original tartar sauce was good and the French fries were crispy. Our order includes 3 small pieces of fish with light breading. It's clearly an iconic part of town, I hear they also own the Lobster Trap, just down the street off the water. I'll likely try another spot the next time I'm in for the beer battered style I was craving. read more

We wanted to grab a snack, before going on the submarine ride and I am glad we did. I had the fish taco and the fries, I will just say it was a nice snack. The fish taco was fresh and I wish I would've asked what kind of fish was in it, because this was the best fish taco I have ever had; I think it was because of the type of fish. My wife had the fried zucchini and if you like thick cut pieces, then this zucchini is the one for you. It held the heat long enough, that we did not have to eat it fast. This is a simple beer and fries kind of place at the end of the pier. The first time I ate here, a portion of my meal was comp'd. They said it was just because they appreciated my business! (I think that they might've know I was a part of a giant group that came through that pier, daily). Incredibly friendly and seemed to sincerely enjoy their work. The food is good but simple. Solid fish and chips. The clam chowder bread bowl was not the best I've ever had but it wasn't bad. $30 for two meals and two cocktails is a steal on the island. This isn't a destination place but if we're playing around on the pier again I'd pop by for a snack and a drink. read more

Don't let the pier atmosphere and friendly service fool you. Just like everything in Catalina this was expensive but terrible! The clams were over fried and dry. The fish and chips were cold and greasy, not sure how to describe the calamari but it wasn't as bad as the aforementioned. The seating was not crowded on the day we went but the tables were dirty. $1 refill for already overpriced soda was a joke. Go sit down at a nicer restaurant and pay the same. read more

We've been coming to Avalon for years and have never eaten at Fish and Chips on the pier... and we'll never eat there again. The fish was rubbery and I'd be willing to bet it was frozen. I go to Catalina for 1 week every year, since I was born. This place is okay. It used to be a lot better. But I believe a few years ago the owner sold it. Now the staff and food they offer isn't what it used to be. It is in a prime location, right on the piers end. But recently all I buy from it is just smoked salmon/albacore because nothing else they offer is too great. If you are in Avalon, I would recommend coming here once, but not too much. read more

Hello! I visited Fish and Chips back in December of 2015 and I was far from being disappointed. The food was tasty, with just the right portion to keep me going for the afternoon. I had the battered cod with an order of french fries. I liked the fast and friendly service. The location is also very convenient with awesome ocean, mountain, and casino view(s). They didn't give us the tacos on our order until I produced the receipt and then made my brother, who ordered after us wait 10 minutes on his tacos and told him the people before him (us) stole his tacos. My brother got his food about the time we finished our meal, but we stayed in the direct sunlight and waited for him to finish. read more

My family doesn't eat seafood but we ended up here w friends. My kids' burgers were sad & they didn't eat them. The sweet potato fries were ok but slightly underdone. I did like that they served it w their tartar sauce. The zucchini was also just ok, under seasoned. I wouldn't go back. read more

This place was good, and I liked that it was in such a great location on the pier. I ordered a calamari sandwich that was pretty good and my boyfriend ordered the chili cheese fries and a burger that he enjoyed. We'd probably come back next time we visit Catalina. read more

Spent a wonderful week in Catalina ... After a few over priced average meals at other restaurants we decided to try out the fish and chips place at the end of the pier.. What a treat! We basically ate there every day after our bike ride .. Never disappointed! Really enjoyed the swordfish sandwich with coleslaw and the seafood platter combo..an added bonus was the small talk we made with the ten year old boy who helps his father and brother out at the restaurant during his summer vacation! While wiping down the tables he sweetly put up with the jolly tourists asking him questions about the island that he had probably answered every day from June on..beautiful location..cold beer..great food..make sure to try it out!! read more

Fish and chips came out piping hot. Didn't care for the coating though. It was thick and bread-like and the tartar sauce could use some improvement. Fries were decent. Fish was neither fresh or old. I'm thinking it may have been frozen. A lot of water poured out of it when eating. Had the shaved ice which actually turned out to be crushed ice instead. Wasn't bad though, turned out liking it a lot. A nice change from your everyday shaved ice. The guys working there were super friendly. 3 star food 4 star service. read more

Nice views, service, but food is so so compared to other places we ate at on island. The roasted Brussels sprout was way too creamy, they should have just roasted and not buttered or oiled it. The fish and rice was also tasteless. The mojito ... did they forget the alcohol? However, the staff were super! I would give our waitress 5 stars. Go for the views. read more

Ate here on a very very hot day... Ordered a modelo it was perfect, nice and cold. Ordered the fish and chips and husband ordered the fish and chips with shrimp. I must say everything was pretty good... The down side was the extreme heat and the limited amount of shade to eat... Overall I would come here again. read more

I lived on Catalina about 20 years ago and many of the locals loved Rosie's. Even as recently as 10 years ago, it was fresh and awesome. Unfortunately, on our latest visit, things did not taste nearly as fresh to us. It was a let down to be sure. read more

Got the fish n' chips for $12.00 and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and freshness of fish. This was the only time during my visit I didn't find the quality and taste extremely underwhelming for the price. I Wouldn't bother with any non-seafood items, stick with what they're good at. OK let's state the obvious Catalina is a tourist trap. Don't expect to have the most spectacular fish n chips you've ever had in your life on the only pier in Catalina. Again you need to keep in mind this is a tourist trap, with that said... All the food we had was decent. Would I go there again on my next trip to Catalina... Yes. Remember the food is only part of the experience/fun when you're at this joint because 360 all around you is people fishing, having a good time, great people watching and just all-around good times. I gave it 3 stars because the fish was delicious very good fish but the customer service was horrible. The two women that were working the register acted like they were ready to get off work and didn't want to be there. They over charged us for a side of shrimp. They did give us our money back after we had to argue with them. I would go back if they change there customer service a little bit. read more

This place smells better on the pier than the food tastes. I had breaded fish and rice: Lots of breading on the fish, the rice was reduced to a gluey mess, and the tartar sauce was thick mayonnaise with a few bits of pickle. I'm NOT a picky eater but I couldn't finish it. read more

Excellent fried zucchini; they had a nice, light batter. Also, we enjoyed the calamari and fries.

The worst/horrible burger period. Sweet potato fries soggy and too oily. Do not waste your money!!!!
