caesar salad and the spicy calabrese flatbread

Went here to celebrate our engagement. Food came out super fast. Drinks were delicious (so was the food). Service was straightforward, kind and quick. The inside and outside seating areas are really cute and decorated with taste. Thanks for memorable end to our day :)

This Italian restaurant has started to serve brunch on weekends. We came in for an early Sunday brunch. The patio area has nice ocean views. Indoor is very spacious with a full bar. The menu was huge for breakfast / brunch. They had a little bit of everything. We have tried Caesar salad, steak & eggs and chicken ciabatta. The salad and steak were so good. The sandwich was just ok, chicken was a bit dry. Service was friendly but very slow. It's usually slow here so it wasn't surprising. It's a great Italian restaurant for dinners, serving brunch on weekends is even better!

Had an amazing dinner here during a weekend stay in Catalina. Food was ok-tasty but nothing special. The vibes are great, casual/formal whichever u prefer. Service was great as well.

It was my husband's birthday and I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate his special evening. We both like Italian food so I looked up for some restaurants on Yelp. One of the top restaurants recommended by yelp was this restaurant. I was able to make a reservation seamlessly. 30 minutes before our reservation, the restaurant send a text message to confirm our reservation. Once we were at the restaurant, we were able to find parking for our golf cart quite easily. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant, we were transported to another world. Both inside and outside seating looked great. The ambience was beautiful and well lit throughout. I got the stuffed manicotti pasta and my husband got the chicken Catalina. The dishes came out pretty quickly. The portion size looked adequate. Both the dishes were tasty and cooked to perfection. Since we were celebrating my husband's birthday, the server surprised us with a slice of a cake. The cake was delicious. All in all we had a great time. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant. If you are celebrating something special, this is a great place to go.

June 25, 2025 | Catalina Island Avalon | What a beautiful place to have a solo & delicious dinner as well as enjoy a beautiful view! After relaxing on the beach, and craving a bite to eat, M Restaurant was a great choice! Penne Arrabbiata | Spicy, flavorful & delicious! Even spicier & added flavor once I added red chili pepper flakes & parmesan! Huge portions here; I had leftovers! Easily took half of it back and put it in the refrigerator inside of my hotel room! Vibe: The restaurant got super busy! I enjoyed dining solo, as well as relaxing while looking at the ocean view across the way! It's always fun treating yourself to a great meal, as well as enjoying your own company! There were couples, as well as large tables of people all around, including people at the bar... fabulous! Customer Service | Incredibly friendly! The girl outside making reservations, always has a smile on her face! Even as I would pass by the restaurant, when walking around, she was always upbeat! My server Joanna was amazing, friendly, and attentive; service with a smile, loved it! View: Wonderful beach view of the boats luxuriating in the ocean! Overall: Yes, please! I would easily return & order the same dish and maybe next time, alongside garlic bread! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu! Thanks again for a wonderful experience & delicious meal!

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was a mixed bag. Location and ambiance were very cool and casual. Food was hit or miss: Meatballs were abysmal, marinara sauce was tragic 3.2/10 Manicotti was fantastic, knocked it out of the park 10/10 Tiramisu was excellent 10/10, excellent flavor and consistency Cocktails were extraordinary especially the watermelon one 10/10 Service was excellent and quick

    Burrata
    Chelsea B.

Wow so yummy! And so reasonably priced I was really shocked. I ordered the burrata and the cioppino and neither disappointed. The outdoor patio is HUGE but we sat inside, vibes were nice and there were some fun birthday parties. The drinks were also very good. To top it all off the service was so fast our food came out incredibly quickly.

The steak & mash were great. The asparagus ok. But the drinks were pretty bad- water down barely any flavor. I would skip cocktails here.

    Lox and bagels. Yum

Went here for brunch on a Saturday. We sat in the patio area. It was bright and sunny. We ordered and the service was great. Food was delicious and the presentation was awesome. Especially for the lox and bagels. We also had omelets and egg dishes and the avocado toast. Will definitely be back. Go try this and you will not be disappointed.

Apparently this is the most delicious tiramisu ever.

Delicious food and Joanna - our server - was awesome. We brought our own wine which made it even more fabulous. Corkage $30. They did a special Tiramisu dessert for our friends bday celebration too. Highly recommend this place. Make a reservation because it was packed on a Friday night.

    Scallop pesto pasta
    Priscilla Y.

All the seafood pastas sounded amazing so we went with the lobster pasta, scallop pasta, and shrimp tequila pasta. The lobster pasta was good, but a little bit on the sour side. Too much on the lemon. The server did say it had an acquired taste. They also said it was a whole lobster in the pasta. I ordered the shrimp tequila pasta. There was plenty of shrimp and the sauce was great, but there were too many pieces of bell peppers. The favorite of the night was the scallop pasta. The pesto sauce was creamy and delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Service was great. They kept checking up on us. For a fancy restaurant, the bathrooms need a renovation.

Arribiata pasta, linguine, espresso martini, Paloma
    Maddy A.

Had a reservation inside and the were able to accommodate us to sit outside which was super cool. The view was pretty. Service was so good and very attentive. Ordered the arrabiata pasta and the scallop pesto linguine. The pasta was a little spicier than I expected but amazing 9/10. The linguine was really good 9/10 could have used one or two more scallops. Would for sure order these two pastas again. The tiramisu was okay and was a little bit hard would probably say 6/10. We also ordered the espresso martini and Paloma. Drinks were good 8/10 and what we were expecting

We were sat down right away for Sunday brunch. There was a great breeze being right across the street from the bay. We were considering the eggs Benedict and asked the server how the hollandaise was. She asked us if we wanted to try it, so of course we said yes. She brought out two spoons which was very sweet. It tasted like gravy which is not how hollandaise should be, so we passed on that. I ordered the French toast and added berries and whipped cream. The French toast consistency and flavor were good, but the temperature was not right and seemed that it had been sitting out for some time. The biscuits and gravy were cold and tasted like packet gravy, overall disappointing for people who enjoy biscuits and gravy. The loaded potatoes were decent, very cheesy and copious amounts of bacon. The potatoes were cooked and salted decently. Would recommend this as a a breakfast item. The ambiance was nice with it being outside. I wish they had umbrellas instead of the built in covers on top because the sun was constantly moving. The service was just ok as it was hard to get a hold of our server. 3.5 stars

I got a 12oz Prime Ribeye and my husband enjoyed the rack of lamb and lobster tail. They initially came out with my side, potato, on his plate, and his side, rice pilaf, on my plate. We politely asked it to be fixed since that would have become very messy if we did it at the table, which they had no problem taking back to the kitchen to fix. My steak was so good, a little over done in my opinion, but I do prefer more pink/red in a standard medium rare. My husband loved the lamb, but said the lobster was overall lacking flavor. We then had the chocolate cake which was SOOOO fudgey and delicious! Our experience was very nice, except for the missed appetizer, which was removed from the bill, and our sides swapped, but overall very good. The workers are all very friendly and funny. We really enjoyed our dinner. I can't wait to go back for another!

You get a hat or sticker with it, and we weren't asked which one we preferred. The strength is similar to a long island, due to the mix of rum and brandy. Decent blend that had a pretty light to deep orange gradient, and an extra pineapple slice. We had fun with the straw hat, so it's fine that fate declared we receive this souvenir. - Buffalo Milk I preferred this drink over the Wiki Wacker, but I can see some people not being into it. It tastes like a creamy nothing. I liked it because the flavor was very, very subtle; it was like an icy, subtly creamy, subtly banana, subtly bitter smoothie topped with whipped cream and nutmeg. Nothing about it has buffalo in it. I would get this again. To sum it up, theming is nice and drinks are aesthetic, yummy, and effective. I love the wide open windows for the natural light and breeze drifting in, and if you're seated near the front, you can people watch.

They have a nice interior build-out with a huge wine bar, but it was a nice evening and we elected to sit on their spacious patio. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by Sarah, who is the bartender and also manages a couple of nights a week for the owner. Sarah is super friendly, explained the menu and provided great table service. They have a large wine selection. My wife ordered a chardonnay and I stuck with an Arnold Palmer. We ordered their bruschetta appetizer, served as six pieces of toasted bread and the expected toppings. It was a perfect start to our meal. We were not super hungry, and selected a three-cheese charcuterie board. You are able to select your cheeses, and Sarah again helped us make our decision. It was perfect for a summer-weather afternoon (although in March) and we chatted, had our drinks and picked at the board until it was gone. During our meal, Sarah was very attentive to our needs. My wife tried another chard, and we ordered their banana dessert, which had great flavor and was a nice end to the meal. This is a great place to quietly enjoy some wine, beer and food. Well, I have been to all of the above and I am telling you, you would be missing out on a one of a kind, out of this world experience that can be had any day of the week at Kindred Spirits, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency. No, I didn't expect it to come anywhere close to the stratospheric experiences you could have were you to choose any wine bar you fancied, but, the minute I got inside, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience that I will want to repeat. First of all, it's downright beautiful. Flawlessly decorated with a chic living room vibe with just the right elements to suggest a curated museum-level sensibility. See my pictures as well as all the others here on Yelp. I spent the entire time noticing little details like the plush velvet banquet, the clubby wing back arm chairs, the art deco artefacts and furnishings, paintings, sculptures, even the ceiling lights were unique and obviously carefully selected. And then there is the stupefying wine and spirits menu that goes on and on. I rarely drink anything alcoholic but I couldn't pass up a taste of one of the exquisite sparkling wines that caught my eye. There is a full range of everything. If you really must have beer, it's there, but! For heaven's sake, try something elevated -- ask for recommendations. You won't be disappointed. However, the star of the entire experience is the menu. Now, remember, I am a lifelong vegetarian. I had fun limiting myself to four choices -- I could have had more were I not on a perpetual diet. You can see what we ordered in my photographs. Each dish was superb, really, first in class. Nonetheless, take a good look at my photographs of the Autumn Apple Tarte -- it is the g.o.a.t., believe me. Not only did it taste celestial but notice the tiny flowers? The chef, Priscilla, is a highly skilled and trained artist, her medium just happens to be delicately flavored and arranged plates of heaven. And Sarah, our attendant took a concierge approach to caring for us. A cosmopolitan playlist provided a lyrical backdrop that just made everything flow like silk. Parking is easy, simply use the Hyatt Convention Center parking lot adjacent to a verdant golf course or their garage, for free. There are two main rooms and we asked for the "lobby"-like large room with a giant table that we had all to ourselves, given we were there in the late afternoon on a Sunday. Even so, clientele were coming and going. It was the golden hour and we were draped in a warm light and cozy but uplifting spirit. The entire experience was flawless. And the tab? Ridiculously reasonable. You may not be headed to Rodeo or Saint-Germain-des-Prés or West 27th street any time soon. So, instead, treat yourself to this epic wine bar. You will thank me, when you do.
