This is where we like to have a simple breakfast or lunch. The store is very small inside. But the outdoor patio is very spacious and cozy. They have an extensive menu with healthy options. Also great beer and wine choices. Limited vegetarian and gluten free items. We like the crooked hard iced tea and white claws. Don't go to this place you're better off goin to Catalina coffee and cookie co. We ordered the Catalina avocado toast and the chorizo burrito, and both were delicious, solid 9/10. Fresh, flavorful, and filling. You can tell care goes into the food. The only downside was that their fresh cold-pressed juices weren't ready yet when we were there. I personally don't love smoothies (they often feel like mostly blended ice with fewer veggie benefits), and the green smoothie on the menu wasn't really what I was looking for, so that was a bit disappointing. They only serve regular black coffee, but the lady working there was super helpful and recommended going next door to Catalina Cookie Company if we wanted lattes, which we appreciated. The crooked eyed brunette at the counter not only gave me the veggie sandwich instead of the caprese, but she also gave me the wrong coffee. The hot wet veggie sandwich reminisced me of my formerly 409 pound aunt on ozempic at the beach full of false promise. I came here for a late breakfast because I had heard good things about this place. I decided to try the spicy avocado toast and my husband ordered a breakfast burrito. We waited less than 10 minutes for our order. Luckily, this cafe is located inside the Metropole Marketplace so there's several tables right outside of the cafe. There's also one table inside the cafe but it only seats a party of 2. Honestly, the avocado toast looked pretty basic. And although it's advertised as the "spicy avocado toast," it really wasn't all that spicy because there wasn't a lot of sriracha put on top. I wish the bread had been toasted with some butter. I also wish the avocado had been seasoned with something because it tasted pretty bland. My husband was happy with his burrito, but nothing that was extraordinary or memorable. I loved how many acai bowl and avocado toast options they had, but you could also get classic drinks as well as other baked goods. I ordered the açaí bowl with the açaí base and thought it was very good overall. There was a lot of fruit, and the base was very tasty. I would've preferred the base to be a little thicker like typical bowls, as this one was more of a smoothie base, but still great overall! Cute cafe with a pretty broad offering! They have sandwiches, paninis, smoothines, and acai bowls to name a few. We came here for lunch one of the days we were on the Island. I was pretty hungry so I went with a turkey sandwich, and my mom who was less hungry got a smoothie. The sandwich was really big and did a good job of filling me up. They definitely didn't skimp on the turkey or avocado, which was great! I ended up swapping the bread for sourdough, which was a little stale, but not too stale that it ruined the sandwich. They had a few small tables inside and plenty of seating outdoors. They also had some market shelves with nicknacks like sunscreen, mugs, cookies, hats, among other things. Would've given this place 4 stars if it were on the mainland, but it's pretty unique for Catalina Island since most of the other restaurants are sit down. I did request for no cheese in my Panini because I wanted it to be a healthy version. They had both inside and outside seating , which was nice. My food came out relatively quick. The Panini was cooked to perfection and the portion size for the salad was pretty good. The salad was fresh and tasted great with vinaigrette dressing. The Panini itself was delicious. I did request for a side of hot sauce just to spice things up. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. Overall, I think this café was a great choice. They also had some interesting smoothies. While in Catalina Island, my family of four decided to stop here to get something to eat.. My review will be 100% honest.. My first impression was: cute little sandwich shop located on a cute island.. I feel that my experience wasn't too positive, the worker in the front lacked enthusiasm, her mood was really dry and it was almost as if we were bothering her for being there. We decided to eat there because of the lack of good restaurants on the island and the reviews seemed ok.. We ordered 4 BLTs and sweet potato fries, 2 smoothies, 1 beer and 1 boxed water.. this restaurant was WAY over priced!!!! One thing about me is that I will pay for good food and This was NOT it.. The bacon in the BLT was old, hard and cold. The sourdough bread was dry and maybe over toasted, The sweet potato fries, ehhhhh.... definitely not it. The smoothie was average, nothing spectacular.. My review was based on 1st: Customer Service and 2nd the Food quality. Both of these factors were below average. I do not think I will come back to this restaurant in the future, however, I do hope management takes a deeper look at their customer service and realizes the impact it has on their business. read more
