Not really a good selection of items and the simplest cup of black coffee was treated like an extreme task. It is just a small walk up to order and hardly a line but my experience made we go back to getting coffee at another location.

It was my first time here the food was good and super filling. The service was great! I would definitely go back!!

Avocado Toast & Green-Machine Smoothie Bowl

This breakfast smoothie restaurant stands out on Catalina Island. It's bright, health-conscious and accommodating cafe. In my 3-day trip to Catalina, I almost visited this cafe every day. The avocado toast, smoothie every thing was fresh and delightful. Ideal place for breakfast, lunch or quick healthy snack on the island

My husband and I went here for lunch. Cost us about $50 for all the food below and then a Diet Coke can. Food was good but nothing special. My husband said the Italian sandwich had mild flavoring. I liked the chicken pesto! It took us about 30 minutes to get our food. There is limited seating inside the cafe but plenty outside on the patio.

I came here for a late breakfast because I had heard good things about this place. I decided to try the spicy avocado toast and my husband ordered a breakfast burrito. We waited less than 10 minutes for our order. Luckily, this cafe is located inside the Metropole Marketplace so there's several tables right outside of the cafe. There's also one table inside the cafe but it only seats a party of 2. Honestly, the avocado toast looked pretty basic. And although it's advertised as the "spicy avocado toast," it really wasn't all that spicy because there wasn't a lot of sriracha put on top. I wish the bread had been toasted with some butter. I also wish the avocado had been seasoned with something because it tasted pretty bland. My husband was happy with his burrito, but nothing that was extraordinary or memorable. I'd probably go back if it was a last resort place to eat.

    Cubano

I had 1/2 a cubano sandwich & half of a chicken, avocado and bacon. Both were incredibly tasty and full of fresh flavors! I also had their side salad which was great. They have a table or two inside, but mostly outside seating is available. The courtyard was really pleasant and there was live music playing nearby. Service was fine. Good menu size & great spot for lunch on the island.

So glad I finally tried Cafe Metropole! What a great find! Fresh, tasty, healthy sandwiches and salads! I highly recommend the turkey avocado sandwich, my husband had the BLT, looked great! Also the potato salad was very tasty. I will be back next time! Oh, the staff is also very friendly!

This was my favorite breakfast spot in Avalon out of the two I went to! I loved how many acai bowl and avocado toast options they had, but you could also get classic drinks as well as other baked goods. I ordered the açaí bowl with the açaí base and thought it was very good overall. There was a lot of fruit, and the base was very tasty. I would've preferred the base to be a little thicker like typical bowls, as this one was more of a smoothie base, but still great overall! I'll have to come back and try the avocado toast options next trip!

A great spot for a casual lunch. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. The tuna melt also can with a side of salad. The café is clean and visually appealing with limited indoor seating and ample outdoor seating to enjoy the atmosphere. Orders are prepared quickly, typically ready within 10 minutes.

Cubano sandwich with sweet potato fries

Very small place with outdoor seating which helps. The food was good and there seemed to be some quality to it. I got a Cubano sandwich with sweet potato fries that cost an extra $3.50 at the time of this review. A little steep if you ask me. The Cubano was good, not great. Sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. My wife got the avocado turkey sandwich. That thing was huge and fresh. Felt healthy. Service was friendly and the wait wasn't too bad considering they were busy. The one draw back other than the prices was no iced coffee options. Had to wait for coffee next door for over 30 minutes. Not a great setup during peak business hours.

Cute cafe with a pretty broad offering! They have sandwiches, paninis, smoothines, and acai bowls to name a few. We came here for lunch one of the days we were on the Island. I was pretty hungry so I went with a turkey sandwich, and my mom who was less hungry got a smoothie. The sandwich was really big and did a good job of filling me up. They definitely didn't skimp on the turkey or avocado, which was great! I ended up swapping the bread for sourdough, which was a little stale, but not too stale that it ruined the sandwich. They had a few small tables inside and plenty of seating outdoors. They also had some market shelves with nicknacks like sunscreen, mugs, cookies, hats, among other things. Would've given this place 4 stars if it were on the mainland, but it's pretty unique for Catalina Island since most of the other restaurants are sit down. Probably the best option for a quick and healthier lunch bite.

Why are there so many bees in this area? It's definitely a hazard. Other than that, it's really cute here! They have gluten-free avocado toast, which is fresh delicious and you can order several different ways. The juice is fresh and healthy too

I was in Catalina Island, and I was looking for some healthy lunch options. After a quick yelp search, I came across this café and decided to check it out. As soon as I got there, I must say the ambience was beautiful and welcoming. They had an interesting menu with a bunch of vegan and vegetarian options. I got the veggie Panini with a side of salad. I did request for no cheese in my Panini because I wanted it to be a healthy version. They had both inside and outside seating , which was nice. My food came out relatively quick. The Panini was cooked to perfection and the portion size for the salad was pretty good. The salad was fresh and tasted great with vinaigrette dressing. The Panini itself was delicious. I did request for a side of hot sauce just to spice things up. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. Overall, I think this café was a great choice. They also had some interesting smoothies. I highly recommend this café if you're looking for interesting, healthy options or smoothies.

Everything was amazing, the service, the food, the drinks, and overall experience. Which is why me and my boyfriend went again this past weekend. This time it was a complete disappointment!!! We sat at the bar, and the short girl with black hair behind the bar was terrible at her job. Didn't smile not even once, I had to ask her for chips and salsa multiple times before she actually decided to bring them. Then I ordered two hard shell chicken tacos with green cilantro rice, she brought me a rolled up chicken taco and a folded chicken taco. To add insult to injury, she brought me red/extra salty rice instead of what I ordered. When I told her that they got my order wrong, Not once did she apologize, nor did she even offer to take the plate back and bring me the right food. I didn't want to cause a scene so I took two bites of the taco and left the plate in front of me so they could pick it up. We accidentally left a $20 tip but it was intended for the elderly man who served the cold beers. I really hope that they didn't give it to the girl who does not belong in customer service. IF ANYONE GOES HERE, AVOID DEALING WITH HER.

Normally I can forgo blank stares, but I expect a little more when I'm in a tourist area. - Wiki Wacker Both tropical fruity and alcoholic at the same time. You get a hat or sticker with it, and we weren't asked which one we preferred. The strength is similar to a long island, due to the mix of rum and brandy. Decent blend that had a pretty light to deep orange gradient, and an extra pineapple slice. We had fun with the straw hat, so it's fine that fate declared we receive this souvenir. - Buffalo Milk I preferred this drink over the Wiki Wacker, but I can see some people not being into it. It tastes like a creamy nothing. I liked it because the flavor was very, very subtle; it was like an icy, subtly creamy, subtly banana, subtly bitter smoothie topped with whipped cream and nutmeg. Nothing about it has buffalo in it. I would get this again. To sum it up, theming is nice and drinks are aesthetic, yummy, and effective. I love the wide open windows for the natural light and breeze drifting in, and if you're seated near the front, you can people watch.
