But the…read moreproblem is ... or at least mine .... while they were hanging in the side room a few items and the TV . My other half left the room for a few minutes. In the room stood a jewelry Armoire or chest. Unfortunately for me the very first drawer contained a pair of antique white gold and diamond cuff links. Some what valuable . But more than that ... one of them was previously a brooch given to my great great grandmother in the 1870's. About 30 years ago I had a duplicate made for me to wear them as a pair of cuff links. The next morning while getting dressed I realized they were gone. It's not the physical value that bothers me. It's the emotional value. My great grandmother wore that brooch every day of her life and I remember it fondly. I tore the place apart. Looked for a couple to three months. All the while I knew the day they disappeared. I called Hanging Around Texas to see about assistance in getting them back. The secretary stated the owner was out. She would return my call. A week later I called again ... to find that the owner was then on a trip or cruise. From there I waited another week. Left a message and then got a call back from the sect. I requested the owner call me ........... she finally did a couple of hours later. Claiming they had never been accused of such ... their employees would never do such and that I needed to talk to my other half ! ???? Also made comments about any of our guest or friends. Since we don't entertain at this residence, no chance of a guest or acquaintance taking them. Nor the maid. We had just moved in. Hadn't hired one yet ... still haven't. Not sure how talking to my other half was going to find my cuff links any way. I guess avoid and claim no responsibility. Well I told them the money wasn't the issue but I would appreciate the help in getting them back. I requested that they again talk to the pair of men who came to hang of pictures. They have had two months ... so far, they have not tried to get in touch with me to resolve this matter. Honestly , it just seemed they were resolved in not trying to rectify the matter . At all. Good .............. but beware of leaving the room !

I hired Javier Magallanes of J M MOVING to move me from an apartment to my house. There was a snag in the financing for the house, so I thought the sale wouldn't go through, and canceled. Then sale went through, and I messaged him again and asked if he was available and he said yes. He got to the apartment with a truck that was way too small. He then told me toward the end of the appointment that he "couldn't get all of the stuff" and that I "have to choose what goes." I picked out what HAD to go, like the living room rug because it had to go under the sofa & I wouldn't be able to pick up the sofa later and slide it under. This was making me start to feel frantic because I don't have a lot of money and I don't have family to come and help. My friends are older people who can't come help. So, he said he understood which things to take & he would take care of it. Not only did they not fill up the truck all the way but I noticed at the house that they didn't bring in the rug. I asked where it was. He said, "Oh! I forgot it." Then, he told me he left the bolts to my bed at the apartment and they didn't have time to go get them because he had another job to do. I said, I found bolts and stuck them in a side table just in case. Guess what? They were the bolts he had left behind, thank God. Then I walked out into the living room and I saw that his employees had dimpled all of the boxes in the living room. I said,"Hey, I marked each box which room it needed to go into and if it had breakables. I need you to put them in the correct rooms because I can't lift them." I shouldn't have to tell the movers that. It's part of their job. They huffed but the moved most (not all) of the misplaced boxes. Then, I saw that the couch was in the wrong place and so were otter pieces. I could drag a few into the right places but I had to ask them to put the furniture back where I had said earlier. Unfortunately, since I was having to run around to catch their mistakes I missed a few heavy pieces being in the wrong spot. I was very unhappy with the service. Javier promised to bring his own truck back Monday to get the rest of my things but then he put me off because it was raining. I agreed to Tuesday, and guess what? HE IS NOT HERE. I have never had a moving service so bad. It was shoddy work and thoughtlessly done. Next time I will go with someone else and I suggest you do too.
