I'm writing this review to shout out Froy in the bike department!!! He is the MVP! My derailleur was whack and he fixed it so quickly. It gets quite busy at the bike department (esp in the summer with kids wanting to get out with new bikes!). Froy also took the time to teach me the mechanics of the bike that I'll never forget since I want to try to maintain my bike myself. I highly recommend becoming a REI member if you aren't already one! Amazing perks such as discounts all the time and you get a return warranty up to 1 year instead of the 90 days. I also like their credit card which gives you 5% back! If you already know you're a regular customer for REI, why not! You'll also get higher cash back on full priced items too. Also just FYI they do not supply bags at check out! So bring your own bag to haul away your purchases!

But then I go to find out that it is not a store open to the public. *Unstoked*. But rather this is a Company Employee Store. Meaning a company or place of employment has to sign up with them (not really sure what that entails), then with a code/invite, the employees of said company can now enter the store and shop to one's content. I go to find out that my work gets involved in this annually, so I finally get a chance to scope it out. You have to bring the invite (a flyer for us with a code) and some proof of employment (a work badge for me). It is kind of a run-around but there is a benefit to all this. There are 3 glaring benefits from my perspective. 1. Being invite only and not open to the general public, the place is not crowded and cluttered. Very clean racks and displays. 2. Lots of legit inventory, so not a mish-mash of odd sizes and discontinued styles like factory stores. Felt like a kid in a candy store. Quite organized too, easy to find designated sections. 3. There are perceived deals/values here. Now I will point out that the brands sold here ie Columbia, Prana, Sorel etc are premium brand names and are usually not cheap. I actually find a full priced item to be borderline insane/expensive. Any Columbia gear I own are either gifts or things I got on some sort of sale/discount. Here at this store everything inside is 40% off (taken at the register). And even some items with certain highlighted tags, may be discounted even further to say 50-60%. A much better deal considering the quality. And after I went through their register to complete my sale, I was given another pass (good for 3 other guest too) to shop within the next 30 days. And there was a coupon attached where $20 can be taken off if spending reaches $100 (pretty darn easy to do). So another 20% off. They know how to market cuz ya know I want to come back for that. All things I restrained myself from getting on this last trip...will just wait til the next out. Bet!

There was no customer service at all…read more I used the kiosk to request a shoe try-on, but after waiting more than 15 minutes, nothing happened and there was no update at all. I eventually had to ask an employee directly to scan it again and bring the shoes out. Honestly, if the kiosk system does not work properly, I do not understand why it is there in the first place. It only made the experience more frustrating and time-consuming for customers. Please either improve the system or remove it altogether.

My wife had been asking me for a Fri fit visor as we couldn't find her other one. I must say I was given exceptional customer service from Hali. When I asked her where something was, she pointed me in that direction, but when I showed her the item on the web, she looked it up and noticed it was in the back, then went and grabbed it for me. They are happy to work on "regular old bikes" regardless of where they were purchased. The technicians communicate well, they are resourceful, and they are conservative (i.e. they're not trying to upsell you; in fact they will talk you out of doing unneeded work). A minor downside is that their system only orders parts once a week, which can mean some delays if you need parts. The pricing seems very fair as well.

I thought something happened to my rear suspension, but when I got home and was walking up our stairs, I looked back and realized the crossbar was completely detached. Sorry to whoever was driving behind me that might have caught a stray screw. Fast-forward to today. I had some of the parts, but definitely not everything. I walked into The Rack Spot with the crossbar in hand, and Joe came out from whatever he was working on in the back of the shop , I think it was some Tesla garbage , and completely stopped what he was doing to help me out. He found the part I needed and had the crossbar installed within minutes. He also recommended getting some locks for towers, installed those too, and I was in and out in about 20 minutes.
