What a completely horrible experience. My friend is struggling today. I ordered flowers online through Avas for delivery today. After five hours, and when it was too late to order from anywhere else for deliver today, I received an email stating my order would not be delivered for several days. That is not acceptable to me. As others have already stated, there is a $10 delivery fee AND a $24 "service fee" so the price you see is NOT the price you will be charged. I called customer service - which got me a recording that said they would call me back, after which I was disconnected. There was not an option to speak to, or wait for a representative. After about 20 minutes, they did call me back; placed me on hold immediately and then the call was disconnected. I attempted to go online - which takes you to a BOT that provides limited options. Cancelling an order is not one of those options. I called customer service two more times - each time, going through the entire process outlined above. Finally I received a call back, that didn't get disconnected. After answering numerous questions and remaining on the call for quite some time, I was "approved" for a refund. Now I have to wait ten days for it to go through. The fact that the website states they have a 5 star rating, but on Yelp it is actually 1.1, seems not only unethical but also fraudulent. Then they don't deliver on Sunday or Monday, so it would have to be Tuesday. Oh man. Did I mess up on this one. I didn't go to Yelp before I ordered from this company. First, they said they were local to La Quinta...they are NOT. Second, I paid for a LARGE (20" arrangement) for a friend who had lost their home to a fire days just before the Holidays. What I purchased as to be a mini christmas tree with LOTS of flowers, a few bulbs and a few berries. I wasn't thrilled, but agreed to a ~$30 Service Fee in addition to the delivery fee, taxes and cost of the item ... because sending something beautiful was more important than the price. Luckily, they sent me a photo of what they received and it was an embarassment. The delivered product was about 12" tall, only had 6-7 flowers and pine branches that looked like they were picked up in a yard and a child put together. When I called to address it with them is when I found out they aren't local to La Quinta at all. They originally offered to give me $30 back ... then went to $50. They give you the run around, put you on hold, tell you someone will call back and they never do, put you on hold, transfer you to a survey that then cuts you off the phone.
