I had a remarkably good experience here. With front end damage, I priced 4 body shops. Most did a fast estimate, but Avenue got under the car and do develop their estimate. I needed to get the car back in a hurry and Ed, who managed the repair, found a way to match the paint color from a section of the damaged fender, reducing the repair time from 3 days to one. He did a great job of identifying and explaining the parts that had to be replaced and those that could be repaired which reduced the cost a bit below the estimate. The result was a perfect paint match, a cost slightly under budget and a surprisingly fast repair with a bonus inside/outside car wash. Honestly, I'll be doing my best to not have another accident, but if I do, I'll return to Avenue Auto Body. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a reputable repair agency, this is an excellent shop. I truly had the best experience with Avenue Auto Service and cannot recommend them highly enough. I was referred to them by Honda San Carlos after someone unfortunately keyed my drivers side door, and they are in network with AAA. Chris and his team took care of me immediately, were so knowledgeable (seriously - Chris knows Enterprise Rental's phone number by heart, including how to escape the menu tree), and worked incredibly fast. My car was ready a full day earlier than expected. The team went above and beyond - they drove me to Enterprise to pick up my rental when the shuttle was too slow, and when I needed to come back a second time for some edge and door handle tape (I'm sure this has a name but I can't recall it), Chris drove me to Caltrain so I could get to work and he and one of the other guys met me there at the end of the day (even when I missed the earlier train and arrived after 5pm) with my car. 10 out of 5 stars. I hope I don't need body work on my car again, but I would absolutely return if I did. I only wish they did more than body work so Avenue could be my go to general repair shop! read more

I know these guys are honest because they could have acted any other way since they were already reviewed previously, but instead they always continue to deliver amazingly. I took my Lexus RX 350 to Avenue Auto Service after it sustained some damage--a scraped door, wheel rim, and bumper. From the start, the shop was professional and easy to work with. After I informed my insurance company that I'd be using Avenue Auto, they handled the rest of the communication, making the process hassle-free for me. They replaced the bumper and even included a rubber trim piece on top, which is much better looking than the original--gives the car a sportier look. I dropped off the car on Monday morning and picked it up Friday afternoon. The repairs were completed on time, and the car looks fantastic. You wouldn't guess it's 17 years old. Got stuck at a gas station they had a very quick response. Like 15 minutes and their battery quote was very reasonable.

How can you backup in a parking lot that fast? Well, I was sitting in my car parked enjoying my Starbucks; my engine off. Then bang and my car shook sideways as an SUV whacked my left rear bumper leaving a two fist sized dent. Really? After taking pictures and getting driver information, from the parking lot, I called my insurance to open a claim against the other drivers insurance. As we completed the claim information exchange, I asked who is on their "happy list of repair businesses". They referred me to Avenue Auto Service in San Carlos. I said great! I will go there. As I hung up my phone still parked in that parking lot, Avenue Auto called me!!!! Wow!!! That was fast!!! I drove directly from the scene of the dent to Avenue for them to gather pictures and estimated damage. I agreed to let them handle this claim! The rest was magic! My car was driveable (just a dent), so I went home. They did the claim magic and ordered parts. About 3 weeks later, parts arrived and they contacted me to come-in for the repair. It did take about a week, but, that is reasonable based on past experiences with car repairs. They called to come get my car and it looks great! I could not tell anything ever happened! Avenue Auto Service was prompt, efficient, friendly and professional! I can highly recommend them and will take all future (OK, let's hope that is never) repairs to them! read more

I want to Thank everyone at Avenue Auto, and Greg, the lead on our truck for doing a spectacular job on my FJ Cruiser. The excellent service started with the guys coming to my home in S.C., while I had the Geico rep accessing damage. Patiently waited, then took the truck to A.A. BTW,they knew our Geico rep, which is a plus. They began body work right away. Done in a week. The internal part of the truck sustained more damage than was originally thought and we were notified as repair progressed. I know this was a rough fix for these guys. A note to add on customer service. To get our truck to us on day promised, Greg actually drove down to the Toyota himself to get the gasket needed. He could have easily said "a few more days for ordered part." Customer service is beyond compare. When done, they cleaned and shined my truck, wheels look great!, plus the inside. My 2013 truck looks brand new! We have been taking all our vehicles to Avenue Auto for over 20 years. Would not trust anyone else! read more

Living is SF is TOUGH! My Acura that I had less than year, had been broken into TWICE in 3 mo and then in November some crazy guy kicked my passenger side door so hard that it bent the door frame, and you could see his size 13 rubber shoe print on the door! I was referred to Avenue Auto Service by owner of Hopkins Honda so I felt assured they would be honest and fair. I started the claim processing and took F-O-R-E-V-E-R for the insurance company to process the claim.. I had to go out of town so they allowed me to drop off my car and I thought we would move quickly once approved. Greg was incredibly patient and understanding, and worked with the insurance company and finally got the approval. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. My beloved 240D got a massive dent in the hood from a falling pinecone -- as the car is an all original time capsule, I was incredibly nervous getting work done. However I need not have worried at all -- not only was the work incredibly high quality, but the care these guys took of my car was next level (e.g., always parking it indoors, taking care of all the tiny road rash etc). Chevrolet Boardwalk recommended this shop. I came in requesting a repair estimate for insurance claim on my 2018 Chevy Colorado. After inspection / photographs i was told more than likely i wouldn't receive the estimate because the insurance would request a second estimate which seemed like tedious work for the fellow helping me out. I waited several days and sure enough, they never sent an estimate, nor followed up with me. Adjuster helping me out did say it was only his second day there. While i appreciated their straight forward response to not want to work with me, i will definitely not return. He was very nice about it, so there's that at least. read more

The guys here at the shop did a fantastic job on the bodywork--looks just like new. My job took a long time, but these guys, Mark & Aaron, keep you posted as best as possible. They go to great lengths to make sure the job is done right before releasing it. A week after I picked up my car, I noticed a bumper panel wasn't in place properly & I brought it back and they fixed it just like that. Great job & fantastic service over all!!! My only complaint is their automated messaging systems, not always reliable. I used it to book my initial appointment thru my insurance company for an estimate and there was some confusion and I was told that my car was just left on their lot with no warning. The old guy was a bit crotchety about it. Best to call to make an appointment and/or ask for an update. Their automated system is my ONLY CON about the place. I definitely recommend this shop for bodywork. read more

AAA recommended Avenue Auto Service, they did a wonderful job with the communication and how soon they can get the charge door replaced and painted. It took them only about 15 minutes while my mother walked her dog. I have an early 00's vehicle that has seen some things, but is still in fairly good condition. The first time I brought the vehicle by was a few years back for a brake replacement due to faulty parts/install from a well known brake shop brand. The brakes were in great shape following that repair! The second time my vehicle had a sizable water leak that stemmed from the sunroof and vent system that caused the front carpeting to be under and inch or so of water. Aaron & the team were able to air things out to prevent mold damage, and were able to address the water damaged mechanisms and components to get things in working order. They maintained consistent contact with me on updates with regard to timing and parts, all the while during COVID. I really appreciate the team's efforts and the talent at this shop. 4.5 stars for overall work, but half a star due to small cleanups/details that would have been nice to have cleaned a bit prior to vehicle return. Let me first start this review by saying that what was suppose to be a 7 day turn around turned out to be 4 weeks. My car was held hostage because there accounting had a problem figuring out the payment that was already sent from Geico to them. To top it off the car was picked up and still has damage. These guys went the extra yard to ensure my 2015 Lexus repair was completed with genuine parts. Geico tried to lowball me with aftermarket parts and Aaron priced matched with and got genuine Lexus parts for the repair. Aaron kept me updated with status throughout the entire repair process. The repair included a new bumper and fender which looked emaculte when completed. To help me remain at home during COVBID they towed the car to my house so that I would not need to go in to pick it up. During COVID business was slightly down for Avenue but Aaron made sure he kept all his employees on payroll. My car was hit pretty bad while parked. Luckily the wheel ate most of the energy and the damage was limited, but Avenue Auto still had their work cut-out for them with both the bodywork and under the hood. I was rear-ended on the 101 and came straight here to get a estimate based on recommendations from the Subaru dealer. They were able to obtain an estimate and determine that the car was safe to drive and rather than have it stay in the shop for 2 weeks gave me a date that they could start working on it. They gave me an accurate time of when it would be completed and call me exactly on that day. I just picked it up and it looks as nice and shiny as the day I bought the car. I never would recommend getting rear-ended on the highway but this was a pretty nice outcome. read more

!BAD BUSINESS! My truck (still) has this issue where it stalls out and dies at random times and won't turn on for days so I called Avenue Auto Service and I spoke to Stewart, and he let me know that they had time at their shop and could diagnose my car so I got it towed there. He called a couple of hours later and told me I had a bad fuel pump and proceeded to give me a quote and told me they can have my car ready by the next day latest (which was perfect because this was a Tuesday, and I needed my car to go camping on Friday). Wednesday goes by and I hear nothing. By Thursday I decided to call back and he told me that they changed the fuel pump and that still didn't fix the problem so they greased the computer connections and it fired up and told me that I might have trouble eventually down the road??? OK, they got the car to run so I'm set.. I drove it home come Friday, I pack my car and head to Modesto. I arrive to the campground with no Issue but on Sunday when it's time to go home my truck won't turn on! I had to get a tow back to Redwood City the next morning. Anyway, I called Stewart back and explained that the issue I thought they had fixed was still happening. He reminded me that he said I might have trouble down the road and I told him "I didn't know it was going to be 3 days down the road" and he told me "well you would have to be GOD to determine how far out it would be" Excuse me??? After I told him that the same issue persists he said "then there's a deeper issue that needs to be looked at". OK so you misdiagnosed my car and the repair you did, was NOT the issue. It's deeper than that. I requested a refund and he just shrugged me off over the phone and told me the truck was fine because I drove it out of the shop and that was that.. My truck is still sitting in the driveway with the SAME problem as when I got it towed and plus I'm out $704.00... read more
