Had my sister and mom's birthday here on a Tuesday night. My oldest sister has been to this restaurant many times before but the rest of us it was our first time. Our waiter Andre was amazing. Love his spirit and jokes. The place was very elegantly designed, with bulb lights above and comfortable seatings around. Wall glass windows to see the beautiful lights outside of kleinburg town. Food: the appetizer : mussels in tomato sauce (I think) that was exquisite, cooked to perfection. The tuna , lightly seared topped with capers and olives, perfect combination. Calabrese pizza, nice and spicy on a thin crust with sauce (my favourite). The calamari, you can never go wrong with calamari's. The main : two of us had the lobster/crab pasta. Gnocchi potatoes, seafood pasta, mussels pasta , penne alla vodka and the salmon wellington. Let me tell you how we left no crumbs behind. don't even get this started about this meal...my boyfriend and I took a trip to Friday Harbour Resort in Innisfil and decided since we drove up here, we might as well eat here as well. We decided to try this restaurant because the other restaurants were quite busy. We waited for so long just for someone to notice us waiting. Ok, moving on to the food and this doesn't get any better LOL. To top off bad service, please tell me why I paid $32 for UNCOOKED PASTA . I am normally not too picky with food but this was absolutely ridiculous. If you look at the second picture, that's our appetizer...yeah no comment... If you ever go to Friday Harbour Resort, please save yourself from a bad experience and money and have McDonalds instead. read more

I have to change my review! 5 years ago I vowed never to go back because of the price and slow service. My friend took me there for dinner and we sat in their very tastefully done patio. Food was delicious and good service. My friend goes there all the time and knows the owners well. So I don't know if it was because of her we got good service and don't know if I would have gotten the same VIP treatment without her. Food was delicious. I will definitely go again and see if I get the same service without her! read more

Because of what I've heard I've waited till my 4th visit to write a review, one of the topics was inconsistency I'm not really sure what these people were talking about, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left not a thing was out of place appetizers we had: Beef carpaccio with arugula and shaved parmiggiano Octopus carpaccio Rosemary focaccia All fantastically prepared and made to order, very fresh!!!! I had the linguine with Lobster as a main and my guest had the grouper Again everything was perfect, delicious and freshly prepared The Waite staff was very courteous and checked on us regularly As I said above this was my 4th visit and don't have a single negative thing to say If you haven't been and don't like going downtown for fine dinning, I would really highly recommend eating here, this particular visit was lunch, their dinner menu is much better Have fun and enjoy..... Just to be Clear this is the Innisfil location Came to Friday harbour for a night out. Came here cause it smelled delicious. The calamari was probably the best I've ever had, that was the best part of my experience. The calamari was over 20$ and although delicious the portions was tiny. It was maybe less then a hand full. Had 2 shrimp, 3 rings and 3 squid heads. The pizza was delicious..... but hard to screw up pizza. I order a seafood Linguine ( 34$ ) came with 3 shrimp and an exact portion of pasta. The clams on it were empty and the dish itself had no flavour what so ever, very disappointed with a 34 pasta dish with no food and no flavour. It had no garlic,olive oil or salt which are essential to seafood. The Penne alle vodka was hard as hell and very undercooked. We sent it back. The white wine Sangria was all ice and barley any fruit. This place is al glamour and no show. Save yourself the expensive price and go elsewhere. I rated this a 2 because pizza was decent and calamari left me wanting more. If your not here for either then don't bother. No pictures not worth it. read more

THANK YOU AVENUE! My boyfriend and I will soon be moving to Kleinburg and thankfully we have already found a "go-to" restaurant. Avenue has amazing interior designing inside and out. They have the large pana doors that open in the summer which allows lots of sunlight and "summer vibes" to enter the room. The inside of the restaurant has a nice classy and elegant feel - i love it! Dining with my wife and four friends last night at the Friday Harbour location, everyone enjoyed their meal and the service. The steaks were medium rare cooked to perfection, the seafood linguini had lots of baby clams, shrimp and calamari. The pizza was cooked perfectly, the grilled oyster mushrooms were delicious as was the calamari appetizer. Great location and a lovely evening. read more

Great food here, nothing to complain about there. However, customer service here isn't the best. They are hard to work with and seemed to turn small parties away, in order to make room for bigger parties. We have been a few times, love the food and got only one pleasant waiter. Took my wife for her birthday dinner at this Italian hot spot, food and wine selection was amazing, waiter, not so much! Got much better service at McDonalds except this cost me $300! RIPPED OFF by the WAITER!! I'll start by saying the Avenue is a gorgeous restaurant, the food is great and the bar is terrific- so why only 1 star? BECAUSE WE WERE RIPPED OFF BY THE WAITER! We have close friends that have been going there at least once a month for the past couple years and they always rave about it, so when we booked to go with them this past Summer my wife and I were quite excited. When we arrived the valet took our car and looking around the lot and saw it full of Lambo's, Bentley's, Ferrari's and couple Rolls. This place is where the "big Italian" money frequents and it showed. When we arrived our friend asked for a specific waiter that always serves them. We were told his section was full and it would be an hour wait. We didn't mind as the bar is a great social area and we chatted up at least a half-dozen new friends and by the time our table was ready we'd dropped $200 in cocktails. As soon as we sat down my friend and the waiter greeted each other like " long lost brothers" and chatted for 5 min in Italian. When it came to ordering we asked for ONE Seafood platter for 4 and each of us then ordered an entrée. Our night went "sideways" when the waiter walked out with FOUR Seafood Platters instead of 1. We were at first speechless when he put down enough seafood to feed 16!! I wanted to call over the Manager to send back 3 of the platters but my friend begged me not to, as he didn't want to embarrass or get his waiter "friend" in trouble. I was so angry that from that moment onwards, I could not enjoy the evening or the food. The Waiter knew exactly what he was doing as my friend is a generous tripper and when the bill came for over $700+, sure enough, we split it and left a $150 tip. The waiters there are well compensated and this one took advantage of us as know that NO one orders 4 seafood platters AND and an Entree each. He purposely "padded" the order/bill and his tip. Needless to say, we walked out with 2 huge doggie bags with 2 full seafood platters and 4 barely touched entrees. My friend knows I write hundred's of reviews on Trip Advisor (read by nearly 200,000 people), so he asked me not to post that night as his waiter would "know" it was him. However last week we got together again for dinner and he mentioned to me that the more he thought about when he got home the more upset he became and hasn't been back since. He said go ahead and post on Trip Advisor about what happened to us. I'm sure if you go to the Avenue you'll have a wonderful meal but for me, it was the worst $1,000 I have ever spent in a restaurant. These people should run McDonalds, but not high end restaurant. They rush you from the beginning and constantly remind that you need to leave by certain time as new batch of customers coming soon. Good luck with that approach! read more

Poor service. First of all, 4 of us were seated at a bar so there goes the conversation. As a non-drinker, I had to wait to be poured water-several times. I don't eat carbs but was never offered a salad/soup etc while dinner mates eating theirs. Was told I could wait (from the owner) for the entree board that was being prepared but not offered anything so I sat there while they ate. I can't tell you how many times my water glass went dry even though the bartender was working directly in front of me. I don't recommend this and I won't be back. read more

The location is great! It's nice to look out the window and not have to look at a parking lot. The interior decor was welcoming, modern and clean looking. The hostess and waiter were pleasant; no small-talk, to the point but friendly. The food was awesome and reasonably priced for the high-quality. Will definitely go back. read more
