One word: wow! Wow all around. Food, service, ambiance 5 stars! When I called ahead to make a reservation, I asked if we they were able to accommodate a stroller to bring my little 4 month old. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table in a nook with plenty of space. Waiters were very attentive from start to finish! Water glasses were never empty, cocktails were perfectly balanced, and the food - magnificent! This place came HIGHLY recommended from colleagues, and it didn't disappoint!

Service was dutiful and conscientious although would have been nice for one or two additional stop by. The restaurant was amazing, not your typical steakhouse but classy. Music was subdued and seats comfortable. They brought over a table lamp that was super bright--in a good way. The wedge salad was delicious with tasty hunks of bacon, union crunchies, and plentiful dressing. I'd order this over and over and never grow weary of eating it. The filet was tender and perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Absolutely delish! Fries were crispy and seasoned with Parmesan. Holy cow they were good. The potato was also great but a little dry. I'm coming back!

    BRANZINO SP ... absolutely delightful.

This is what Italian food should always be like! Really good service and just the right ambiance for a dinner with family or friends. We got a Friday evening reservation for a surprise birthday dinner with some friends. While the sea bass was excellent, they should really make the branzino their signature dish. A chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream is a awesome way to end the courses too. Oh, almost forgot to mention how hospitable the owner was. We are definitely coming back here.

Wow! What a fantastic lunch I had here. They have a wonderful prefix menu for $25.95. First of all, the bread that they give you in the roasted red pepper dipping sauce is outrageous! I started off with the meatballs and my friend got the soup of the day which was a crab corn chowder? The meatballs were served in a cast-iron skillet and were tender and delicious with lots of Barata cheese on top. Yum! Now...that soup was sheer perfection, rich, creamy and served hot, The way it should be. For Entrees, I ordered the beef tenderloin and my friend got the chicken martini. All I can say is Yum! The beef tenderloin was Cooked perfectly to medium rare with a mushroom peppercorn sauce and al dente vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes. So tasty. The chicken martini was pounded flat with a nice egg batter and mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was really done beautifully. We ended the meal with and ice cream dessert and a delicious piece of pie. Our waitress was so friendly and her service was exceptional. We will be back soon!

Our daughter and our son in law gave us a gift certificate to Averna and we finally decided to use it! So glad we did. I started with a 1/2 doz. raw oysters, which were so fresh and went really well with a glass of chilled Prosecco. My wife had fresh creamy burrata which was also very fresh. We both had the bone in ribeye. Mine was medium rare which I recommend. It was well seasoned and tender. We ordered the Sautéed Mushrooms and Au Gratin Potatoes for our sides and they were delicious. For desert it was Crème Brûlée for the Mrs. and Tiramisu for me. Yummy! The wait staff was very attentive and very friendly. The music was not too loud and even after the restaurant filled up, the noise level was low to moderate. The décor was modern and everything was clean. I would have given an additional star but the a/c could have been colder and the glass of Brunello I had with my steak suffered as a result of the less than desirable room temp. All in all if you're looking for an Italian steakhouse I highly recommend Averna.

my new favorite spot in westchester! i loved everything about Averna. i got a very warm feeling when i walked in - restaurant feels homey and our waitress, and others, were very friendly and warm. most importantly, the food is delicious! warm complimentary bread was delicious and included my favorite type of bread - walnut raisin. started with the french onion soup, which was totally solid, piping hot, just delicious. had the sea bass for my main and really enjoyed it. shared the chocolate lava cake and caramel toffee cake for dessert. get the caramel toffee cake - it was out of this world!

    PASTA SPECIAL

Wanted to love this place but left disappointed. I'd like to start out by saying the service was great. Drinks were quickly brought out in a matter of minutes. I went on a Friday night, to find the place mostly empty (not sure if that's why the drinks were so quick but later found out that this was an indication of the quality of food). We started with the grilled octopus and beef carpaccio. The octopus was ok but nothing special. I enjoyed the beef carpaccio which was my favorite thing of the night. For entrees we had the seafood squid ink pasta special and the sesame crusted ahi tuna. The pasta special was good, however it was $50. And as you can clearly see in the picture, it consistented of maybe one large bite of pasta and just not enough seafood nor pasta to make it worth the price. The tuna was a weird color, consistency, and flavor and after one bite, I sent it back. I hate sending food back, but for a $40 tuna, it felt justified. This spot could work for grabbing drinks and maybe an app, but I'm sorry to say, don't waste your time or money on dinner.

FILET 8oz, Creamed Spinach, Garlic Mashed Potatoes

My husband and I came here for a belated Valentine's Day celebration based on a friends recommendation! Nice ambiance, it did feel a little bit crowded though. Service was good and efficient. Very kind staff. Food was average - we ordered lobster bisque soup, filet mignon, rib eye, creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. The filet was probably the best. The creamed spinach lacked flavor and the garlic mash was average at best. It's a steakhouse so it is expensive. It was a nice experience but didn't quite stand out overall.

Best pork chop in the world!

I believe this place is pretty new to the area. The food is EXCELLENT and totally worth the stop. Saturday was super busy and we had a reservation around 7-7:15pm We didn't wait- sat immediately- the drinks were all very good- we tried more but I remember the mango martini and the margarita. Very yummy. I totally recommend the pork chop and the steak, they were my favorite. This environment is so nice, so cozy and I loved my night there! Will absolutely be back !!

It feels like somewhere you can have a nice dinner and still actually relax. The service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and welcoming without hovering, and the meal moved at a comfortable pace. We started with the Il Toscano, and the chicken liver mousse was probably my favorite part. It was rich and smooth, and the Pecorino, olives, salami, and pickled artichokes balanced it out really well. We also had the Gamberi, Vongole e Fagioli with shrimp, clams, and butter beans. I wasn't sure what to expect from the beans with seafood, but it worked. It was savory, comforting, and really good with the bread. The carbonara was rich, flavorful, and filling. The portions overall were much bigger than I expected. We shared everything between two people and still left with leftovers. We also tried the Until Sunset and another zero-proof cocktail that was similar. Both were really good and actually tasted like cocktails, not just juice in a nice glass. Overall, great food, generous portions, really good service, and a beautiful atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

I'm a tough critic, having worked in restaurants for a decade, so take this seriously: the service was impeccable and the food was perfect. The dining room is lively -- yes, it's noisy -- but that energy comes from a full house of happy diners, which tells you everything you need to know. We started with scallops: buttery, golden-crusted, and exquisitely tender. I had the veal saltimbocca -- one of my favorite dishes anywhere -- and Sergio's version is by far the best I've had. Dessert was a Basque cheesecake with a perfect balance of texture and sweetness. In five years, I have never had a bad meal or a lapse in service here. It isn't cheap, but it is absolutely worth every penny. Ignore the haters.

They also offer an enclosed atrium area, which seemed like a quieter option--but the heat was a bit too high for us, so we chose to sit inside. It was quite loud, so next time I would try the atrium area near the entrance for a more comfortable noise level. One of the highlights right away was the complimentary antipasto: a nice plate of mixed cheeses, olives, and sliced salami, along with a basket of bread. The thin, crispy salted bread was seriously addictive--so good! Paired well with our Aperol Spritz. We started by splitting the fried zucchini flower blossoms stuffed with ricotta, served over tomato sauce. You get two per order; they were good. For entrées, my friend ordered the Pollo Fino--strips of chicken breast topped with asparagus, shrimp, and mushrooms in a white wine citrus sauce. It came with four jumbo shrimp, and she said it was incredibly good. I had the Pappardelle alla Boschiola with prosciutto di Parma and green peas in a pink sauce. It was a generous portion and very tasty. I later noticed the menu included mushrooms, which didn't seem to be in my dish, but I did not catch it at the time. We finished by sharing the Napoleon dessert--my friend had raved about it. The flavor was good, and our server nicely split it for us, but the pastry layers were quite crunchy, making it challenging to eat. Overall, a fun atmosphere with tasty food. They have a big parking lot offering valet service.
