Just passed my behind the wheel test today on my first try!! I couldn't have done it without Avers Driving School. Up until my very first lesson, I had never sat in the driver's seat or touched the steering wheel. Four lessons (and hundreds of turns) later, I was able to get my license! I had the honor of getting training from both Ricky and Sabino, who are such skilled teachers. They are determined to help you not only to pass the test but also to become safe drivers on the road! Sabino is a legend, he genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his students and has very good methods when it comes to teaching. He listens and answers any questions you have, and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and even demonstrates how to do certain things when necessary. Everyone who handles booking appointments is very nice as well, if they cant reach you through a phone call they text you instead and are very well spoken. I had a good first two lessons but after about today I was very disappointed. Sebino yelled at me, used profanity, and shattered my confidence when it came to passing my test. He stated "there is no way in hell you are passing your test" and when asked why he stated "you're unlawful." He did not give specifics as to why and snapped in my face after I made one error. I had the pleasure of working with each of the 3 instructors (Sabino, Ricky and Luke). They were all incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I passed my drivers test on the first try with minimal errors thanks to them! I was very nervous when I started but they made me feel like a more confident and safe driver. The office staff, Lety and Otilia, were also very kind and accommodating. I had scheduling issues on my part and they were able to accommodate that with no problem. I have to disagree with prior reviewer. Sabino is awful and very unprofessional. He deserves 0 stars. My coworker is so embarrassed because she referred me to this school. This man use profanity with my son during the very first lesson when he made a mistake. He complained to my son about how far he had to drive to pick him up, even after I offered to bring him to his office. When my son returned he did not bother going over what I need to work on with my son. Just left not even a call the next day! Avers Driving School is the best of the best. Sabino is an incredible teacher that makes his student's feel comfortable and confident. With Sabino's guidance, I passed my driving test on the first try! Forget South Bay Driving School, Triple A, or any of those other inefficient schools. At those schools, the student picks up other students, and therefore doesn't experience a 1 on 1 training. At Avers Driving School, the student has a full 1 on 1 experience with Sabino at all times. In just three lessons, Sabino has taught me how to be a good and safe driver. He also picks the student up from wherever! He also has a kind and humorous personality that allows the student to form a personal friendship, thus making the student feel comfortable. I always hear from my friends how terrible their driving school is, and I always say, "You should've gone to Avers." Sabino taught me how to drive back in 2008 ( I was 16 years old). I had never driven and I ended up in driving school due to my parents not having the patience to teach me. Sabino made me feel confident in my driving and really prepared me for my writing and behind the wheel test. He had so much patience and he was so relaxed that it made me feel calm. I passed my written and behind the wheel on the first try and with one mistake!! My parents and I were very satisfied with Sabino and his abilities to teach me how to drive. I have two sons and both went to Avers for their behind the wheel training. One son had Sabino. He was almost 18 before getting his permit and only practiced for 8 weeks before his test. He passed! My other son had Luke and passed today with only 4 points taken off. Both Luke and Sabino were professional and friendly, and taught my boys well. I found avers driving school here on yelp. I made a list of schools, called around, and decided on avers based on price and quality. I bought the six hour package, which included a lesson solely for pre-testing. My instructor's name was Ricky, and I'd recommend him to anyone, especially nervous drivers. Before avers I had little confidence about my driving skill. After one lesson with Ricky, I felt a lot better about myself. On our second lesson, Ricky got me, a formerly extremely nervous driver with a fear of driving, on the freeway. My third lesson prepared me for my test, and Ricky left me with a prediction: if I was nervous, I wouldn't pass. Ricky was right. I passed on my second try. Ricky taught me to park, to parallel park, and also taught me to be a defensive driver. With a lot of practice in between lessons, I was able to get my license. Avers helped me achieve my goal, and they were always 100% honest about my progress the entire time. I felt as if they cared about me as a client and genuinely wanted to help me. I wasn't fed lines about how their lessons would guarantee me passing, and was constantly reminded to practice in between lessons. I was also called two days before each lesson to be sure that the appointment still worked for me. If there was a ten star option, I'd use it. Sadly, there's always five. Thanks Avers and Ricky!
