There is a "mask optional" flyer on the door that advises that we should respect each others decisions. None of the staff were wearing masks. This is irresponsible during the height of this deadly pandemic. As a front line health care worker that is expected to risk my life to care for you, I find this disrespectful. OK inventory--a lot of very over the top 'statements pieces' that only a specific kind of person would buy once in a blue moon, but found a few pieces here and there that weren't as flashy that I was definitely interested in. The gentlemen was very short and rude with me when I was asking questions about a few items. He made me feel like I was an inconvenience and that I was wasting his time. He treated two nicely dressed men far nicer than he treated me, so maybe my casual appearance made him think I wasn't going to actually spend any money (why would I walk into a higher end consignment shop not ready to spend at least a few hundred dollars?) Lovely store, great quality & nice owner. We have purchased many items & consigned a few which sold & we were paid. Unfortunately, never got paid on our beautiful lamp which we consigned . When we went by to check on it the owner suggested we leave it, she loved it & said ot would sell. Well it did but we never got paid. Furniture is nicely displayed. I have found the staff to be professional and knowledgeable about the inventory. They do offer a independent deliver service for an additional fee. I am a longtime client of AveryLane. I love shopping and consigning there ( she gets top $$$ for the consignor, but, still a deal for the buyer). Darlene is a marvelous business person. Her staff is also great. The showroom is set up in a very appealing way, not like a typical consignment store. In fact, you will forget you're in a consignment store once you are shopping. Not only is the service great, but the selection of merchandise is exactly as described it on the website....A little bit of everything from everywhere. I was visiting your store with my daughter, and I wanted to share my experience so that other customers do not have the same one. My daughter and I had visited Avery Lane about two weeks ago, and we decided to return today to revisit a piece of furniture (sofa table). When we first walked in today, we also saw a sideboard that we thought would fit our home. By the way, I am more than capable of buying this furniture. However, we soon felt as if the employees were following us around the store. A woman followed us everywhere we went as she "dusted," and she did not once ask us if we had any questions. Additionally, my daughter and I took turns using the restroom, and we each felt like we were being watched as we waited for the other person. My daughter looked in a mirror to fix her hair as she waited for me, and an employee was obviously watching her through the mirror. We felt so uncomfortable that we eventually decided to leave. We were obviously being judged by the way we looked, though I personally think there was nothing wrong with how we looked. It seems as though my sundress and my daughter's jeans did not meet their standards. The way a customer looks should not matter to employees, but they obviously do. Because of this experience, we will not be buying any of the furniture we saw (and liked). However, I believe that you should hear about our experience to ensure that future customers are not profiled. read more

If you are consigning your furniture I cannot recommend this store. We rented a truck, hired help to unload it. My people unloaded it, 3 pieces, and placed it in the loading area. They charged me $50 for their workers to actually put it in their store. The money was taken off the first sale without my knowledge. I contested it and they ignored me. They sold one piece. I extended on the last 2 pieces. They sold another months ago. I have sent them 2 emails and gotten no check and no response. Not a good place to do business with. We have bought furniture from them, but no more. read more

My favorite guilty pleasure is to always stopping in brows at Avery Lane truly they have some of the best finds in Scottsdale. It appears that they are very selective in their choices because everything seems to be in excellent condition. A lot of thought goes into how they display their pieces and they seem to be very knowledgeable about some unique art and very high-end quality furniture options I honestly feel like every time I'm there I find a little treasure that makes me feel like I just got an amazing deal!!! One last little tidbit is I think some of the employees there must be decorators because if you go in with a photo of what you're looking for or the area you're wanting to place it they really give some sound decorating advice. Like all consignment shops it's all about the inventory and how discriminating the shop owner is. There's a bit of new furnishings mixed with almost new used pieces. When I was there very few antiques. It's well displayed and the staff is friendly. My favorites I saw today was an antique french clock and an almost new Century furniture cream crescent sofa, beautiful scale. I own a design firm here in the valley, I deal with mostly higher end clients, so this was certainly one of my go-to's to send clients to. However, after receiving 2 calls from clients this last week about A.L. mask optional policy, I will no longer be sending clients here. The last straw was my recent client who is a virologist, who was beyond angry, could not believe the sign and the mindset that went to posting and allowing masks optional in a business. They did not even enter the building, and called me as they left informing me of the signage (which I did not know about before hand). I have seen the other posts here now, about this issue and the replies. Darlene I will just leave you with the facts.. if people could make good decisions about social distancing, and masking up, Arizona would not be leading the world in Covid-19 cases. Coming from California and visiting Avery Lane was a wonderful, delightful surprise. This doesn't compare to any of the home consignment stores that I've ever visited. The assortment is vast from accessories, furniture, and stunning art. Everything is in excellent, like-new condition and priced so fairly! It's like buying new but at a fraction of the cost! The styles range from exquisite antiques to more contemporary. Did I mention their beautiful rugs? Also, I like going there for decorating ideas as they always put an eclectic mix of things together that just works! Both my wife and I have been looking for used furniture pieces for the past month. After walking around for quite some time, we hadn't been asked if we needed any assistance. We were very interested in a dining room set and a buffet and some smaller items. When my wife had to call to attention for assistance, the woman seemed put-out. When my wife asked questions concerning the buffet and who the brand was, I noted her arrogance towards my wife. After my wife asked several questions about some pieces, the woman walked away stating that she would give us time to think it over. My wife immediately came to me and asked if it was just her or did I feel the woman came across as rude. I took my wife and told her we wouldn't be buying anything in this store.
