My food was fresh and hot! I do feel like I could have had more bacon.. but hey I guess. There's loads veggies we're good as well. There's loads of parking. Street, lot and paid lots but be mindful this is in the farmers market and depending on when you go, you might be lucked out with that. There's a good bit of seating at the bar, and more all around them! I would definitely try them again, because I feel like it could be better.

A perfect place to cool down after exploring Dallas Farmers Market. This place is known for some of the best seafood in town and their oysters did not disappoint. I love a good oyster flight but the Wellfeet - MA were by far the best! Friendly service and we watched them shuck each one right in front of us!

After four years working around downtown Dallas, I've only recently discovered some of the gems south of the Government District. I tip my hat to developers building up the Farmer's Market and surrounding area; this is a great place to visit! I've visited many of the shops and dined at various establishments, but Rex's is a staple offering family friendly seafood options. Stop by during happy hour for reduced beverages and food. While the presentation is not flashy (paper plates, ketchup packets, etc.) the food is solid and discounted oysters on the half shell are a great way to start! My lobster roll was tasty and the ambiance was chill; just want I wanted. While it can often feel a bit shady going south of 30, I highly recommend stopping by the Farmers Market shops and restaurants! Rex's Seafood Market with happy hour pricing and tasty, affordable offerings is one of the gems that make this venue a great place to visit!

Decided to take a trip to the farmers market and enjoy happy hour oysters at Rex's. Sat at the bar, order 1/2 a dozen oysters and a pound of crawfish. The oyster during happy hour are $2 each (I wasn't given an option but folks sitting on the other side of the bar were so not sure how that works), crawfish was $8.99 a pound. Although I got plenty of crawfish and some were a good size, they tasted overcooked and the only seasoning I could taste was what was poured on top of them (not how I prefer my crawfish). Also ordered the kids fish & chips. Nice portions, fries were perfect and the fish was good as well. I probably should have started with the fish & chips as I probably wouldn't have ordered everything else.

Will return. The French Open is on their four tv monitor (the last match of the day - well past 10 pm in Paris: Džumhur v Alcaraz), so we stopped for a drink. Counter service by a few energetic young people, professional and proficient. They grind their own horseradish, which is great - it tastes so so good. Three kinds of oyster we tried: Great White of MA: light Birch Point of ME: flavorful - our favored Irish Point of PEI: they're good (Prince Edward Island) We'd have more but can't - have an Italian dinner at 6, and we've to go. Does the increasing efficient shipping service makes it possible for anyone to realize their dream business - Dallas, and Texas in that matter is a landlocked region. But what do I know. ... Alcaraz won in four, on his second match point, near 5pm Dallas time. I'd think Friday evening is a hopping time in the city but it feels dead, the mall is pretty empty. Where's everyone? Or it's too early for everybody -:) - my first full day in Dallas. Wishing everyone with a desire to succeed in a biz the best of luck.

Fantastic service when dining solo at the counter on a Friday afternoon. Water was refilled quickly, check ins were unobtrusive, enjoyed a flavorful late lunch. Hushpuppies were stuffed with crawfish, crab bisque was shell free. Enjoyed the hustle of the dining hall from my counter-side perch.

They have a nice little corner carved out for themselves in the Dallas Farmers Market building. While I have been a fan of Rex's for years, this was my first visit to their Dallas Farmers Market location. They have managed one of the hardest things to do in the industry, and that is to maintain consistency across locations. I ordered my favorite thing they do, and that is the Connecticut style Lobster Roll. Just like at their other locations, it is about as good as it gets in this part of the country! The service was phenomenal as well! Review #2015

We ordered raw oysters, which were fresh and delicious. The charbroiled oysters, however, were bland and could have used more seasoning. The scallops with risotto were good, but I don't think the cheese topping was necessary. The staff were attentive and provided good service.

Great menu selection of dishes served with easy cleanup in mind. The service was fast and the food arrived hot! The ambience is a Food hall don't expect glasses, plates and waiters. We started with the shrimp and cheese chips app 8/10 The Atlantic Salmon was $18 with good value and cooked right! 9/10 Lump Crab cake was definitely lumpy with crab 9/10 for the value. Id ask for butter to dip the crab in next time. Deal alert they have $2 Oysters M-F 3-6

My friend and I got lucky to find bar seats during a busy weekend so very grateful!!! Service was real quick too!!! The lobster in the roll was really fresh and delicious with the butter. I just wish they used different bread that wasn't so soft because it got soggy. Still a delicious lobster roll. My friend loved her tuna nachos. They also sell wine, which I loved paired with the seafood!!! Definitely a staple seafood restaurant in the Dallas Farmers Market you must try!!!

Rex's always has friendly service and delicious food! We love to stop here when we are visiting the Dallas Farmers Market. It's a treat to get great sea food while also enjoying music and people watching. It can get pretty busy, but even the patio is a great vibe on any given day!

Now the sign said they cut fish so this leads me to believe they cut like you ask.. I wanted a steak cut so all bones would be in a central location.. The guy there was not very help maybe he didnt understand but then he shouldn't be there in front addressing customers if he cannot give customers what they are asking for or explain what can be done. All he said that I really got was that I had to buy the whole fish, which was fine cuz I needed a lot. I'm asking questions trying to make sure I get what I'm asking for but was not really getting clear answers, so I just let him to him since HE's the professional and cuts fish everyday! Now my family buys buffalo fish in Memphis TN all the time, we always got card game and family fish fry's going. So my expectations were really high because Id found a fish market like home, has buffalo, and the place been around since 1950, I research everything reviews were iffy but they were dated or filtered. HOWEVER, I GAVE THEM BENEFIT OF DOUBT and TOO MUCH CREDIT!! I get home open up the package like WTF, half a head, the tail, fins attached and everything butcher in between. The smell was so bad so, of course I wash it really well, but the smell barely faded. So I'm standing there looking at all this butchered ass fish mangled and such and I couldn't bring myself to chance it with my family so I threw it out!! $67.78 GONE!! Catfish was fine but I literally had to regroup, run to Walmart for Tilapia! Super disappointed! What's funny though.. on my way out the door I joked and asked... "there's no head in here right" he smiled and shook his head "no". But I DID HAVE HALF THE HEAD LESS THE EYES! I started to call but really don't think they care much about customers service, customer satisfaction, or customer reviews but KNOW THIS, I will not be back, I don't have money to loose and shouldnt have this type of nonsense when spending money with a company that's been around this long.. It's shameful on the owners part! MY $67.78 GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!! What could be done to IMPROVE LISTEN better. ANSWER questions asked!!!! PROVIDE understanding for those NOT in the fish industry. HIRE knowledgeable people that CAN speak English and know their TRADE.... TRAIN your workers!! CHECK fish for quality DONT SELL BAD FISH... END GOAL.... Don't sell bad fish!!!

On October 18, 2025, I purchased live blue crabs from this store. The crabs appeared active when sold, but after cooking them the same day, I immediately noticed a strong ammonia odor coming from the meat. This is a clear sign of spoilage and improper seafood handling. The crabs were completely inedible and had to be discarded. Concerned about food safety and quality control, I reached out to the store through their WeChat group (where they promote products and communicate with customers). Instead of receiving an apology or offer for refund or replacement, the owner responded with an extremely rude and dismissive attitude. They showed no accountability, no concern for customer health, and made no effort to resolve the issue. Shockingly, when I continued to explain the situation, the owner even threatened to "sue me" simply for sharing my honest experience and concerns about food safety. This response was unprofessional and intimidating. I was not asking for anything unreasonable--just acknowledgment and responsibility for selling spoiled seafood. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic respect when raising a valid concern, but the way this business handled the matter was both disappointing and irresponsible. I have since reported this incident to the relevant food safety authorities for further investigation, as seafood freshness is not a small issue--it directly affects consumer health. I hope this review serves as a warning for others to be cautious when purchasing from this store. Selling spoiled food, responding rudely, and threatening customers who speak up is completely unacceptable. Businesses that handle perishable products should prioritize honesty, safety, and respect for their customers--these are the true foundations of trust and reputation.
