But I gave them my background as an Advanced Sommelier and Jim the proprietor is taking care of us giving us the Library tasting and we tasted everything and I loved all of their wines. He also brought out a small charcuterie tray that helped taste his wines. AvinoDos Winery has contracts with the best vineyards around Napa and gets their fruit that way to make their incredible wines! And the gentleman who works next to them came over and gave us the option to try a couple of his wines which were called J Moss Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville. I had a reservation here from the Tastefuli app and it was a very good experience. My reservation was at 1pm on a Saturday, which turned out perfect b/c it wasn't too busy so it almost felt like a private reservation with our server, Jim. He took care of us during the tasting and went over the history of the wines they use. He even also took us on a tour! Had a lovely chocolate and wine pairing tasting at AvinoDos. Not a common combination, but the chocolates surprisingly paired well with the wines! Chocolates & wine pairings: raspberry & Brut Rosé, pineapple & Riesling, cherry & Zinfandel, dark chocolate & Cabernet Sauvignon, and chocolate walnut & Malbec. The winery is located in a more industrial area, but don't let that fool you! What it lacks in nature, it more than makes up for in hospitality. Service was welcoming. We came a bit earlier than scheduled, but staff had us seated right away. We booked the classic tasting, but they upgraded us to the reserve tasting. We ended up getting a bottle of their 2016 Zinfandel (Don't forget to use the Yelp check-in discount!). On top of that, our sommelier gave us a tour of their wine production room. This place is a really nice start to a wine tasting journey! My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday at 12:00 and made sure to call before. COVID TIME REVIEW Smaller tasting room in a business park but that doesn't take away from the experience at all. This may be one of my favorite tasting experiences in Napa because the wine is amazing, the sommelier is knowledgeable, and the customer service is amazing. They included a free small charcuterie plate that complemented the wine perfectly! 10/10 would recommend visiting this tasting room, you'll have an awesome time and feel right at home with the friendly staff. (By the way, my favorites were the Malbec and the Zinfandel! I liked em so much I had to buy a bottle of each to bring home) At the time I visited (valentines weekend), the seating was all patio seating with heaters in between each table. We found this place on yelp after we finished our tasting at Trintas. It wasn't busy at all for a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm. A group was leaving when we arrived. We were a bit confused where it was located. It's like in the industrial area. We found out that Avinodos and J. Moss were the same. J. Moss is the winemaker. We picked the Classic Wine tasting $40 and Library Wine tasting $55. Then we added on 2 more wines for $5 each. So we ended up trying all the wines on the menu. We liked the Oak Knoll District Malbec, Oakville Cabernet, and Diamond Mountain Cabernet. Jasmine was our server and she was nice. The wine pours were generous. She even gave us a quick tour in their wine processing room and barrel room. She was informative. They even gave us complimentary dried fruits, dark chocolate, crackers, and nuts platter to go with the wine. Nice touch. They also wipe down the table and seats before we sat down. We brought our own charcuterie and fresh fruits to enjoy too. They don't seem to mind. Easy to park on the street. It's a pretty empty area. read more

We visited this winery today for the first time and had an awesome time! We had a priority wine pass per person so the tastings were free. Shirah was the sommelier and was absolutely wonderful! We were celebrating our anniversary, so she started us off with a complimentary sparkling tasting. All the wines were exquisite and Shirah spent time explaining every one to us and answering all of our questions. She even brought us a complimentary cheese and charcuterie platter. It was so good!! Dan, the wine maker, came out to greet us and gave us a private tour of the barrel tour. This location was in a business park, so we were hesitant, but the customer service and the personal touch, made this winery worth going to! I would definitely recommend this winery. read more

If you can get past the lackluster ambience of being tucked away in a strip of warehouse buildings far far away from any vineyard, you certainly won't be able to get past the smell that ruminates throughout the space. The port-a-potty scent that leaks from the back room (where they will take you for a tour of their facility -- we skipped it) is unmistakable and something we saw each guest comment on when once the settled into their table. It was so distracting and awful we barreled (no pun intended) through our tasting so we could leave. If you're looking for a no thrills, dive bar version of a tasting room look no further. read more

My favorite winery in Napa so far! Avinodos is a small and low-key winery nestled in an office park, a very unexpected location. We came as a group of 5 with two Priority wine passes, which gave us 2-for-1 tastings. However, the service is fantastic and we got far beyond just the average tasting - we were hosted by Shirah, who was generous enough to explain the wine as well as pointers on wine-tasting in general (we were all very new to tasting). She also treated us to a small charcuterie board to accompany our tasting flight, and later, the winemaker himself, Dan Dexter, gave us a tour of the wine cellar. We left with a bottle of the Riesling, which was a complimentary tasting that wasn't originally on the menu. I highly recommend this educational and worthwhile experience! read more

Great time with a fun wine master! I went with my boyfriend for a private educational session with Victor. Victor is incredibly experienced in the field, having many stories of his wine tasting through the years. The actual learning is through about 20 PowerPoint slides but supplemented heavily by Victor speaking of world travels to wineries and sharing this wealth of knowledge. The "classroom" if you will was decorated perfectly for the part, with the walls made of oak wine barrels, etc. The only feedback we have on possible improvement is to spread the tastings out through the session rather than having them all on the backend. We wanted do put our new found information to use right away! But overall, it was a wonderful set up with a great educator allowing us the perfect start to our Napa trip. read more

This winery absolutely deserves a five star review, we found it by accident in a small shopping center but we were able to drink with the owners and wine makers and the experience was fantastic. Their wine was incredible and they offered to pour us wines not provided on the tasting and comped our tasting after purchase. We ended up buying a vertical flight of Melbeck and cannot wait to come back and share the experience with more of our friends and family. Yesterday my husband and I decided to visit this cute, tiny tasting room. We were immediately greeted by Victor, a sommelier with over 42 years experience, and Dan the owner/wine maker. Don't let that this tasting room is an industrial park fool you, it was worth it. We had a private tour and tasting where we had Victor and Dan all to ourselves. We were able to pick their brain and came away knowing more about wine tasting than when we went in (and we felt we already knew a lot). After a short tour of the barrel room we were brought back to the tasting room to enjoy 5 tastes, complete with a small selection of cheeses, crackers, and salami. Victor was a wealth of information and it became clear that this was going to be a different experience than going to a tasting room where someone just poured the wine. Victor taught us how to actually TASTE wine better. After all was said and done there was still one more treat, back to the barrel room to do 2 barrel tastings with Dan. We really enjoyed our experience and brought several bottles home to share with friends. We look forward to revisiting in the future. read more

This was AMAZING! We wandered in after finding this place on Yelp. It's in a random location in a business park. As no one was expected, there was no tasting staff onsite. We were greeted by Gustavo himself! And despite the surprise of us showing up, he did a tasting for us. Again, it was AMAZING! We were there for about 2 hours. And we got a walkthrough of the back where they make the wines. Gustavo was so friendly and thorough in his descriptions. And, of course, the wines were AMAZING as well. This was the only winery we visited where I bought several bottles. I couldn't resist. A fabulous experience and fabulous wines. This should be a total must on your winery list! read more

I took a 2 day trip to Napa/Sonoma during the summer and visited Avinodos Wines and it was definitely one of the most memorable of the trip! I was greeted by Dan Dexter who is the wine maker/owner of Avinodos. Dan was very friendly and explained all of his wines as well as Gustavo's wines as well. He even gave us a tour of the production area of his wines, where he let us barrel sample many of his wines that were almost ready for bottling. After some tough decisions, I walked out with a few bottles of the Malbec. They were excellent! In addition, dont expect a "Wow" factor winery/tasting room, this is a small production winery in their production area. I personally look for good wines rather than mediocre wines in a beautiful tasting room. If you're a true wine enthusiast that appreciates good wines from a knowledgeable wine maker, Avinodos is for you! read more

Incredible personal experience. The co-owner Dan is extremely knowledgeable and tells wonderful stories about the wine and the wines of winemaker Gustavo (famous from the movie Bottleshock) We got to meet Gustavo as well!!! The wines were fabulous. I never thought I'd be a Malbec fan but we left with several. I also recommend the Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. If you are familiar with Gustavo's wines you will recognize the incredible quality and can buy his as well. I preferred this tour over all the high end fancy tasting rooms. This small setup in a commercial site was the winner because of the quality of the wine and the Royal treatment. The big guys flit in and out of the room but Dan will spend the time to teach and make sure you love the experience. They are very passionate about what they do! read more

I love small winery's and this one is one of the best IMHO. A hidden gem in a sea of large winery I heard about this place from a co-worker and I tried it out with friends from the east coast. They loved the great atmosphere and we were even hosted by the the owner Dan. Dan explained to us the wine making process, gave us a small tour and took care of me and my friends like family. In the end my friends and I bought a couple of bottles and toured the rest of the city. I wish I could just drop by every time I'm in the area, but like every small winery, they can only accommodate so much and just dropping by is gambling that they are not busy with another guest. Upon arrival we were greeted by Victor, and the owner Dan. Victor was so kind and dealt with my friends confusions over the menu and pricing, and the owner Dan was so welcoming as well. Victor educated us on the proper ways to taste wine, and all the tips and tricks of getting the most out of our tasting. Although this winery may not have a location as scenic as some of the others, we had more fun here than at any of the other wineries we visited! We were the only ones there at the time and they even changed the music upon our arrival to something they thought we might like, which was great. After our tasting we were given a tour and an explanation of the process by the owner, and purchased 6 bottles of the Sauvignon blanc (which is great by the way). Loved this place! We were able to make a tasting appointment for when we were in the San Francisco area ( our first time in Ca!) it so happened to be when they were bottling their 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, and they let us help! Not only were the owners there, but their winemaker Gustavo Brambila as well. It was an amazing experience, and the wine is really quite good! I ended up joining the wine club, which offers shipments only twice a year rather than the regular 3 or 4. It's a tiny production and tiny tasting rooms, but you can expect FABULOUS private service. The table setting was perfect, classy and right on point. We love smaller settings with less people and this was our most intimate wine tasting experience to date. We have been through Napa, Sonoma, and Livermore wine countries and the knowledge, personality, and attention to detail was at the top of any we have seen. We got to taste several wines at the table and then 2 from the barrel which were delicious. We didn't taste a wine we did not fall in love with.
