We were heading home from an overnight at The Meritage and were in need of a great breakfast. Sunshine Cafe popped up in our Yelp search and caught our attention. The food looked amazing and the decor looked worth checking out in the other reviews. From the service to the vibe to the food, everything was on point and exceeded expectations. The stuffed French toast was beyond filling. You'd think it'd be extremely sweet but the sweetness was subtle and didn't overpower my taste buds. The side of fried chicken was a must after seeing it was their claim to fame. It was slightly dry but seasoned incredibly well. The highlight, decor-wise, was their superhero-themed restroom. The walls were full of every Marvel and DC character you could imagine. Every time my wife and I travel we always try to find a place that we'd revisit. Sunshine Cafe will be that spot in Napa. It'll be a go-to before every drive back home. Can't wait to comeback and try more of their menu as everything looked and sounded delicious. read more

This is definitely a locals place and it has a homey, comfortable vibe when you walk in. Very nice staff who are knowledgeable about and make great suggestions. I stumbled across Sunshine Cafe during my recent visit to Napa. I was looking for a place that was close to where we were staying and this spot was literally a short 3 minute drive away. When we arrived it was pretty empty but quickly filled up. I can tell it's the neighborhood go to. I ordered the sunshine scramble and subbed the eggs for egg whites for a $2 upgrade. I opted for potatoes as my side and wheat toast. The scramble was really good. We ended up going back a second time right before heading to San Francisco to catch our flight. During the second visit I ordered biscuits with a side of chicken sausage. The biscuits and jam was very good. Both tasted homemade. read more

This place was great. They played great music, I loved the art all around the restaurant, and the food was delicious. When we arrived there were lots of people waiting outside. We thought it would be a long wait. We were delighted to hear that it would only be about 25 minutes. We were seated within that time. The booths were extra long. I think they could have fit about six people in them. I loved their bright blue colors and the different breakfast art on the walls. The menu offers everything. You'll definitely find something that you like. I had a hard time deciding what to order, but I went with the eggs Benedict. My husband got the kitchen sink scramble. We ordered a side of biscuits because I can never resist biscuits. We were not disappointed. The biscuits were delicious as was everything else. I also elevated my breakfast potatoes to include truffle and mushrooms. It's a must do. It was so delicious. Friendly people, good service, cool music, and decor. It's a winner! read more

We had a nice experience here. Food was absolutely wonderful. Service was prompt and professional, although perhaps slightly rushed and to-the-point, although personally I like that. There was no wait for a table, although it was reasonably busy for a weekday. I bet on weekends it's absolutely hopping! The breakfast quesadilla was delicious and my BF was happy with his huevos rancheros. The one thing I wasn't completely satisfied with was the coffee - not sure if it was just a bad batch, because some of the other reviews mentioned it was good, but I thought it was pretty bad. Not undrinkable, but for $11 for two cups, I would like it be at least be decent. It's not a cheap restaurant, but the food is great, the portions are sizable, and we are in Napa, after all. We came here for breakfast our last day in Napa. I had the huevos rancheros and it was fine. The food was fresh, the chips were crispy, my egg was cooked over medium and the beans and rice were good. Loooove Sunshine Cafe! We came here after a hike and saw the great reviews and had to try it. The decor is so cute! And it's surprisingly big on the inside in addition to having a lot of outdoor seating. 10-15 minute wait on a weekend to be seated wasn't bad at all! The service was awesome and quick :) my friend got the meat lover omelette and I got a couple eggs and bacon. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. Definitely recommend. read more

Rainy days calls for brunch in a cozy space. That is exactly what Sunshine Cafe is. Now, don't be discouraged by the wait time, a good 20 or so but it's worth every bite. It has been awhile since I was last here but nothing has change. The quality of food is still as excellent as ever. My mother and I had a little brunch date. We ordered pancakes, (2) eggs any style and the chicken and waffles. The only comment I have is that the chicken on the chicken and waffles was a bit...herby for me? As in the spices just seemed sour to me. The waffles were amazing. We had asked for extra tea and one of the team members shared that it would cost extra. We asked another team member and they never mentioned any additional charges. We double checked the receipt at the end and no additional charges so there might be room for staff knowledge. Amazing find! Saw it for years but never tried until now...loved the food and the service!

I'll start with the positives -- the jam was absolutely amazing, and the coffee cake wasn't too shabby either. Those were definite highlights. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. I expected it to be busy on a Sunday morning and was willing to give some grace, but the consistency just wasn't there. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, which is understandable, but once seated I would have expected better follow-through. * My eggs (ordered over medium) came out extremely runny. * Coffee didn't arrive until 15 minutes after being seated. * Every time I asked for something, the waitress would rush off before I could finish the request, and items either came very late or not at all (for example, I never received the sour cream I asked for). * Pancakes I ordered on the side showed up after the rest of the meal was finished. They were comped, which I appreciated, but the timing made them pointless. * Biscuits arrived about 10 minutes after the rest of the meal as well. On top of that, when it came time to pay, we had asked for part cash/part card, but the bill was split incorrectly. By the time we left, it had been nearly two hours for a simple breakfast, which was frustrating and disappointing. Overall, the food had bright spots (the jam and coffee cake especially), but the slow, inconsistent service really overshadowed them. read more

The food is outstanding. Had the meat lovers omelette special with their homemade biscuits and jam. Wait staff were very friendly, prompt and provided great service. The cafe is in a shopping center and doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is nicely decorated. I would give 5 stars but their pricing is a bit high. I'm know things are higher now but $23 for an omelette plus and extra $2 for the biscuit is pretty hefty. What really got me was the $5.50 for a regular cup of coffee!! read more

I've been here twice now and the food is pretty good! I don't usually come out to Napa but this is one of the spots on my list for brunch with the girls! Whenever I come here I love looking around at all the cute decor. I've tried the banana foster French toast and pancakes and both were tasty, but if I had to choose I would go with the French toast. My friends and family have tried their burgers and chili rellenos and said they were also pretty good. Both times I've been they had the sweetest waitresses as well. This is a great breakfast spot! We stopped in around 11am on Wednesday and service was super fast and friendly. I wish I would have taken pictures but the decor inside the restaurant is so much fun! There's beautiful art posted on all the walls and if you are a Marvel fan you have got to check out their bathroom! They have custom Marvel comic tiles on the walls! We tried the Biscuits, Eggs & Country Gravy. The biscuits were perfect and the gravy amazing. I honestly don't understand how this place has a 4.6 rating. First of all, if something costs extra, you should tell the customer. I ordered an English muffin extra $2.00, but what I got was this greasy, unappetizing biscuit that tasted like it had been fried in reused oil. I also asked for egg whites, which they charged extra , but again, no one told me that upfront. To be fair, the mimosa and coffee were decent, and the egg whites--though they charged me an extra $2.50 for two slices--weren't overly greasy and were okay. Still, I wouldn't recommend coming here.
