Sunshine Scramble with a side of potatoes and wheat toast
    Nakema G.

I stumbled across Sunshine Cafe during my recent visit to Napa. I was looking for a place that was close to where we were staying and this spot was literally a short 3 minute drive away. When we arrived it was pretty empty but quickly filled up. I can tell it's the neighborhood go to. I ordered the sunshine scramble and subbed the eggs for egg whites for a $2 upgrade. I opted for potatoes as my side and wheat toast. The scramble was really good. We ended up going back a second time right before heading to San Francisco to catch our flight. During the second visit I ordered biscuits with a side of chicken sausage. The biscuits and jam was very good. Both tasted homemade.

Overall it was really good! The service was good, and all the food was delicious. I gave 4 stars just cause it didn't knock my socks off, but like it is a solid breakfast place!

My prime rib eggs Benedict yum yum

I haven't done a review in a minute, but this place needs to be bragged about, I had the prime rib eggs Benedict, with potatoes. MAN! Let me tell you ! My mouth sent me a thank you card, the flavor is amazing, PRIME RIB was tender, I literally cut it with a butter knife, the bread was soft and crunchy at the same time made fresh from panorama bakery made fresh everyday ( I know RIGHT!), it was buttery and soo Delicious , the addition of the avocado sent the flavor beyond any eggs Benedict I've had before, and if you follow me you know I order it often. The potatoes: the potatoes were savory as well, you could think it's just a potato dude calm down, NO I WON'T CALM DOWN, OK maybe I will I'm embarrassing my wife standing on the table right now ‍, but these once dirty ugly vegetable was magically transformed into a cube food for the gods! The flavor was something that made you eat slower to savor every bite, and when combined with the eggs Benedict give me a euphoric feeling that this place may be too good for me, don't get me wrong it very casual place, but the food "OMA GAUD!" They should require suit and ties . I live an Vacaville, would I drive 45 minutes for just a breakfast...NO, BUT for this one, oh yeah!! Smiling All the way,

Chicken Chorizo Skillet with poached eggs and a house-made flour tortilla!

UPDATE! We were just in the Cafe for brunch and they have a special that deserves mention: Chicken Chorizo Skillet. It comes with house made tortillas and two eggs any style. This dish is next level delicious and worth a drive. If you delay and don't see it on the menu, ask for it. We need this to become a regular!!

This place was cute and our food was good! I had the Benedict with a side chocolate chip pancakes. my latte was watery so not a big fan of the coffee and i think one of our orders didn't get put in so it was a little late but no biggie. the food was good and would go again!

We had a nice experience here. Food was absolutely wonderful. Service was prompt and professional, although perhaps slightly rushed and to-the-point, although personally I like that. There was no wait for a table, although it was reasonably busy for a weekday. I bet on weekends it's absolutely hopping! The breakfast quesadilla was delicious and my BF was happy with his huevos rancheros. The one thing I wasn't completely satisfied with was the coffee - not sure if it was just a bad batch, because some of the other reviews mentioned it was good, but I thought it was pretty bad. Not undrinkable, but for $11 for two cups, I would like it be at least be decent. It's not a cheap restaurant, but the food is great, the portions are sizable, and we are in Napa, after all. We'll be back for sure, but we'll skip the coffee, and you should, too :)

We came here for breakfast our last day in Napa. I had the huevos rancheros and it was fine. The food was fresh, the chips were crispy, my egg was cooked over medium and the beans and rice were good. Next time I'll try another dish. My friend had an omelette with potatoes, also good. We enjoyed the coffee as well. The servers were friendly and the space was crowded.

Great spot for a tasty meal. Huge menu included breakfast items all day. The garden omelette was delicious! The spinach quesadilla filled with cheese was also very good.

Loooove Sunshine Cafe! We came here after a hike and saw the great reviews and had to try it. The decor is so cute! And it's surprisingly big on the inside in addition to having a lot of outdoor seating. 10-15 minute wait on a weekend to be seated wasn't bad at all! The service was awesome and quick :) my friend got the meat lover omelette and I got a couple eggs and bacon. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. Definitely recommend.

A traditional American breakfast/lunch spot with big portions :) We had the chicken waffle, biscuits with gravy, and a quesadilla. Everything was tasty, with the waffle being particularly fresh and well-textured. Quesadilla was marked as hot dish, but it wasn't. The service was quick and efficient, and the outdoor seating was great. Also, there is available parking lot.

    Raspberry and peach mimosa.
    Sasha C.

Cute little spot with farm vibes. They are quite busy. Wait staff was nice but they are so busy it's hard to be attentive. Mimosa wasn't sweet, Boozy hot chocolate was strong, so beware. Lol. Some of the best potatoes I've ever had. Biscuits were a bit hard and lacking flavor. Overall nice cafe.

Are reservations needed ahead of time, or are you first come, first served? Thank you.

I don't think they take reservations. Reason i believe they don't....they are always full for breakfast and lunch. However, even if you wait it will not be a long wait!

    Are u dog friendly?

Yes! they have outdoor seating and water bowls for dogs.

The restaurant has a counter-service setup where you order first and then find a table, but the layout is a bit tough. There isn't really any free space to stand and review the menu before getting in line without completely blocking the way. I ended up ordering an almond croissant and the loaded chorizo potatoes. I was so excited for the potatoes since it combines three of my favorite things: potatoes, hollandaise, and chorizo. Unfortunately, the taste just didn't live up to the presentation. The chorizo tasted nothing like traditional chorizo, almost like a completely different meat. The dish was heavily doused in sauce that it totally overpowered the flavor. I didn't even manage to eat half of the serving. The saving grace was definitely the almond croissant, which was delicious. It was perfectly buttery yet crispy, and topped with just the right amount of almonds and chocolate. Overall, I think the main breakfast dishes are worth skipping. I don't think I would return here for a meal, but if I had to come back, I would strictly stick to their pastries.

Of course it's right in the heart of downtown so it was perfect for after dinner stroll. We had an early reservation which when we arrived, majority of the tables were empty. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. A few tables along the front patio as well as a bigger sectioned outdoor patio along the side of the restaurant. Indoor is just one big room. There's a bar counter but I don't remember if you can utilize it. Our waitress was a major doll. The sweetest ever and very friendly. Made sure that we were well taken cared off the whole time. Menu wise for both drinks and food was quite nice. I think we were all wined out after the afternoon tasting....lol... So a little cocktail here and there was tried. Food wise, there was a big group so a bunch of starters was had to share. The pork belly was delicious, small but tasty. It was basically just enjoying a nice thick piece of bacon with roasted apples with a glaze. That was a favorite amongst everyone. Prosciutto and burrata with grilled strawberries and micro greens and a balsamic glaze. You can't go wrong with burrata, it was delicious. The cast iron corn bread with lavender honey was another favorite. Something so simple yet so delicious. There was another dish in a grape leaves but I don't remember ordering it. It was tasty. Also, I could have sworn we ordered the beet salad but didn't get it...lol... Could be wrong. Anyways, starters were nice. Entrees, another mix of everything had. We each ordered our own but ended up passing things around to share. The duck confit didn't sound that interesting but someone ordered it and it was quite delicious. Think that was the best dish out of everything we had. The steak and fries were good, did like the seasoning used for the fries. The shrimp boil was ok, sort of flavorless in my opinion. Potatoes, sausage, bell peppers, onions, corn, shrimp tossed in a lobster broth. It was good but lacking some seasoning. Not your traditional shrimp boil as you would think with the loaded seasoning. Roasted chicken with the wild spring vegetables and wild rice pilaf. It's chicken, decent and moist. Still pretty tasty. The halibut with the roasted mix veggies. Nice piece of meat cooked nicely. Classic gnocchi in basil pesto, simple but good. The short rib which I believe was the special. A few piece of meat, with mashed potatoes, grilled onions and corn on the cob. It was good, meat was tender and flavorful. Also a side order of the onion rings which was also a favorite. Nice thick piece with grated Parmesan. Of course we still had to get dessert after all that. Two different one, the cheesecake with fresh fruit and the shortbread cake with creme and fruit. Both were quite tasty and a nice way to finish off a meal even though we were full. Overall, the service was top notch. Service was amazing and our waitress was a major doll. The sweetest and friendliest. Made us feel so welcomed. Drinks, quite good. Food, there was some hit and misses. We did enjoy ourselves and had a nice time. Location is amazing in the heart of downtown. I believe everything is street parking. Another place off the list.
