A hidden gem This place was highly recommended by my friend who lives in Napa and has worked in the wine industry. The tasting room is outside in a beautiful edible garden across the parking lot from the brewery. When I arrived, I was seated in a shady corner of the garden, where they grow many of their own ingredients. It was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the smells of the summer afternoon. The outdoor space is gorgeous and arranged so that every table has shade. My server, Cara, was wonderful. I asked for her recommendations and she planned a masterful tasting for me. She started with me with a pair of white wines, a subtle sauv blanc and buttery chardonnay. The next pair was unexpected, and by far my new favorite thing, a rose alongside their red ale. They are both exceptional, especially between bites of the fig olive tapenade (HIGHLY recommend). The last pairing was their merlot and syrah, which I had with the delicious pork rillette. For a sweet finish, I tried the non-alcoholic peach lavender switchel. Overall, 11/10! Cara was able to answer all my questions and teach me a bit about everything I tried. I highly recommend St. Claire Brown for wine and beer connioseours alike, they truly excel at both. This would be a great place to take a group of friends where everyone can enjoy everything in a beautiful oasis hidden just up the street from downtown Napa.

    Wine and zero proof tasting

Easy street parking and very friendly staff. The wine is more on the acidic side, which is not something we particularly preferred. The zero proof beverages I would describe as kombucha. I'm glad I tried the flight, but it would probably switch one out for a lemonade next time! They normally hold their tastings in a garden, but once it gets windy, they will serve you at their cellar.

This is a unique experience. It's one of the only, if not the only place around that is a brewery and winery. They are vegan friendly and earth friendly. They grow so many things here and they have a beautiful little space to enjoy it all. The menu is creative and the food was delicious. We didn't have reservations this time but they sat us anyways and were super delightful. If you're in Napa and looking for a different experience, this is your place.

I LOVE St. Clair Brown! I tried out this urban winery & brewery from personal recommendation and let me tell you, I immediately joined and had a special event there! Aesthetic - 10/10 Such a beautiful urban garden right in downtown Napa. There is something so calming about sipping on your glass of wine (or beer) while smelling basil and admiring beautiful fruit and vegetables growing all around you. The greenhouse is definitely my aesthetic and I recommend this hot spot to everyone who comes in town! Staff - 10/10 I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff at St. Clair Brown is. It is so heartwarming when you see similar faces at each visit and they start to recognize you and catch up, so personal! Everyone is passionate about their beverages and so knowledgable. Wine, beer, mocktails, and food - 10/10 There has not been a single wine or beer that I have tried here that I have not loved (and I consider myself to be quite picky, especially with white wines). We are members here now because we love the benefit of coming in for a glass of wine on the weekends and their 2 bottles every other month is so approachable and a fun reminder to come visit. It's also hard to find a cute spot in Napa that covers wine and beer so well so you can really please the whole crowd! We even have a lavender lemonade lover in our house who begs to visit on the weekends! When in downtown Napa, keep St. Clair Brown on your shortlist to visit!

Napa is wine country and the town is chock full of tasting rooms. This one is different. It's *outside* and on a warm late autumn afternoon, it was nice to sit in their outside space and enjoy a wind down before working on dinner. My friend is a member here and so we got the member price. That's a nice discount over what is otherwise a not-inexpensive tasting. Fabulous service and a friendly host who poured, explained and gave us the wonderful history of this space. I went with the beer sampler and because they only brew small amounts, your options may change from week to week. Today, a Kölsch-style ale, a Märzen and a Brown ale. All delicious. With it, we enjoyed their hummus with house-made crackers. Delightful with a lemon zest mixed through, it went well with the beer. Sitting in a garden with a citrus tree, fresh herbs and a big lavender bush, you can almost not be in downtown Napa. [Review 21017 overall - 533 in California - 2002 of 2023.]

This is a cute little winery/brewery. Love options especially, if someone your with loves beer more than wine. Sitting area is outside; immersed around the gardens. You can see the vegetation growing around you. Glass of wine is pretty pricey averaging around $20. Beer tasting average $25. The staff is very friendly and you can tell workers love what they do. Limited snack options for food; if there were more food options I could have sat there all day.

What I thought was neat: -Possibly the only place that serves both beer and wine in Napa -Big open tasting room -I like that they serve food here and zero proof drinks too What I wasn't crazy about: -Server was very polite but it really seemed like she was the only one working there. (We were here with a party of 16 and there was at least 20 other people hanging out there.) She worked very hard but the short staffing made service very slow. -Really damn cold in here. I appreciate them placing space heaters but I nearly needed to sit on top of one to be comfortable.

    Switchel flight

Most idyllic little escape from the bustle of downtown. Their Sauvignon blanc was delicious and we also enjoyed their switchel flight. It is lovely that many of their ingredients are sourced from their own gardens.

Saxton our wine host was more than great but awesome. We enjoyed the tasting room downtown. Make a reservation before coming a few days in advance. The wine tasting patio was full on a Saturday. Saxton was enthusiastic, friendly, intuitive, interested, and knows his wines. We could tell he loves food and wine. It shows. He shared the history of the wines, where the grapes are sourced and shared his favorites and why with us. He is personable and natural yet professional and down to Earth. We loved our host. The owner Clair Brown was on site with a smile to welcome guests at the bar when you check in. It made the experience more intimate knowing the wine maker is in the house! She is apparently the first female wine maker with a viticulture major educated at a local UC. St Clair is known for their Red, the most known being their Syrah. It's laid back , balanced, smooth and more food friendly than other Syrahs. It is a very friendly wine. You aren't forced to pair this one with bbq or chops. It isn't exploding with sweetness ,with spices , or overly tannic. In that way it is unique in its own right. The outdoor tasting garden patio is situated across its warehouse on the opposite corner ;it's dog friendly and kid friendly. I highly highly recommend St. Clair. Their wines are not widely distributed so when you buy you know it's not available all over the globe or even at other local wine distribution centers or establishments. Go !

This review is for wine tasting but at the St. Clair Brown "cellar." We scheduled a wine tasting here because they are a dog friendly winery and we had our pups with us. While it was a cool sunny winter day, we (and the dogs) were dressed for the cooler weather. We fully expected to be seated outside in the garden but upon arriving a sign by the garden said that the wine tasting would be indoors at their "cellar" across the street due to the day's temperature (mid 50s). The "cellar" was really their indoor brewery location where they had a handful of tables inside and two small tables just outside the door. The brewery was sparse and had an industrial vibe. It didn't feel like a place to have a wine tasting. Dogs were allowed inside but we chose to sit outside at one of the two small tables. Our server was very nice and provided great service. She was knowledgeable about the small boutique winery. The pickled persimmons were great. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but it was disappointing to have the tasting at their "cellar" (brewery) rather than at their normal outdoor garden and greenhouse. The garden looked well kept, and nice. It didn't feel like we got the true experience which we were hoping for. Had we known beforehand that the tasting would be at the brewery, we might have gone somewhere else but the wine tasting reservation requires prepayment. If you book a wine tasting here on a cool day, just be aware that they may move the tasting indoors to their brewery rather than at their nice outdoor garden.

    Beer and delicious vino.

The entire experience was stellar, beginning with a welcome glass of Vin Gris, which counts as one of the five wines in the tasting. We settled into comfortable, spacious semicircular couches with panoramic views overlooking the vineyards, gardens, and mountains beyond. What truly elevated our visit was Dulce, our hostess, who has more than 20 years of wine experience. She described each wine with such knowledge and detail that we were able to choose wines we genuinely enjoyed. But it was more than expertise. She shared her knowledge and passion so freely and with such heart that she made the afternoon feel special. Dulce is truly a gift to Bouchaine. The hospitality began even before we arrived. When we realized we didn't need as much time between wineries, we called and asked whether we could move our 3:30 tasting to 2:30. They accommodated us with grace. We ended up staying more than 2 1/2 hours and never once felt hurried. I especially appreciated the generous spacing between the seating areas, which gave each group privacy and made the tasting feel peaceful rather than crowded. The grounds were lovely, with purple agapanthus and black-eyed Susans blooming against the vineyards and mountains. Even the modern wood architecture--from the tasting room and offices to the beautifully designed bathroom--made us feel as though we were somewhere thoughtfully created and genuinely special. Every member of the staff we encountered was warm and welcoming. Some wineries you visit once because you're curious to experience them. Bouchaine is the kind of place I would return to simply because of how wonderful it felt to be there. Although I would definitely be getting the Gewurztraminer, Merlot, and Pinot Noirs again too.

Our sommelier informed us that we were in the coolest and foggiest part of the valley, but it was a warm, clear day, and we were able to enjoy the lovely view from the terrace. Compared to other tasting experiences I've had in Napa, the tasting at Bouchaine was more laid back - we didn't take a tour, and our group was seated on the terrace for the afternoon. We tasted about 6 or 7 wines, including several blends unique to the winery. I liked how the tasting line up was flexible; our sommelier often let us choose between two wines for each round. Additionally, she explained the story behind each wine she poured. While I typically enjoy the more interactive tastings with a tour, it was nice to sit and relax with the stunning view.

My husband and I were able to call ahead and schedule a very last-minute tasting, and from the very beginning, the hospitality was exceptional. I work in the wine industry on the retail side in Texas, while my husband does not, so creating an experience that feels both educational and approachable for both of us is not always easy. Steve absolutely nailed it. He welcomed us warmly, shared thoughtful stories about the wines and the winery, and made the experience feel incredibly personal. The tasting room itself is beautiful and feels like a hidden gem in Napa. We especially loved learning about the wines and the woman winemaker behind Levendi. The tasting was stunning from start to finish. What truly sets Levendi apart, though, is the level of hospitality. Since our visit, I have referred many of my favorite clients to Levendi, and Steve consistently goes above and beyond for them. He bends over backwards to make sure my customers are taken care of, and every single person I've sent has come back raving about their experience. At this point, a trip to Napa would not feel complete without a stop at Levendi. I honestly cannot imagine Napa without Levendi -- or Steve. In the 90s and early 00s they allowed well-behaved kids, and I remember being enchanted by the sheep cutouts, the pate and cheese, and the beautiful fountain. We eventually stopped being brought around, but my parents stayed members for decades. When I returned as an adult as guests on my parent's membership, the visits were wonderful. Servers were warm, the wine was phenomenal, the view stunning, and the food always great. After years of joining my parents, I finally became a member myself. Since then, visits with my husband have been inconsistent. To be clear, WE are consistent- we dress well, behave respectfully, never overindulge, and tip generously. Most of the time service is attentive, we taste everything, order plenty of food, and buy lots of wine to take home. Friends have even joined because they loved the experience. But about a third of the time service feels strict, stingy, and inattentive, and I cannot understand why our treatment differs so much from my parents, even with the same servers. But, we came back again and again, because MOST off the time it's a dream. This past weekend, however, may cost them two memberships. We visited with two couples, one already a member and one interested in joining. We were dressed well, respectful, and ordered plenty of food. After asking for a couple more tastes to go with our next round, we were told there was a limit of four pours. When the server returned (I had asked for some time to reconsider the tastes if we were limited), she said three. Everyone agreed we were told four the first time. If this is a new policy, why did it change within minutes? Why weren't we informed the first time we asked to try something else? Service declined from there. No checking on shade, slow follow ups when we asked for additional accoutrements, and no water top offs unless we asked. We were absolutely mortified that our good friends we had invited had this as their first experience, after us spending years telling them about how magical it generally is here. We ended our visit early and spent our money at Iron Horse Vineyards, where we enjoyed hours of great wine and a beautiful view without being cut off. One of the couples actually ended up joining their wine club based on the stark differences. Domaine Carneros lost an additional membership, hundreds in purchases, and may lose two dedicated members. All it would have taken was a few more ounces and a little more time. When we visit wineries where we hold memberships, we expect to be treated as valued guests and to enjoy tasting as much of the menu as we can until we are finished. Little gifts sent to us on our membership anniversaries are cute, but where is that same sentiment when we're there in person? That doesn't seem like too much to ask for other wineries. I keep giving Domaine Carneros chances though, as I have so many amazing memories here. My parents were shocked when I told them. They had just visited and had the experience they have enjoyed for decades. So why didn't we? We now have to decide if keeping this membership is worth it. The wine is excellent and the views impeccable, but I am not sure I want to support a place that so clearly chooses who gets better treatment.

We were able to grab a spot on the lovely front patio, which ended up being perfect. Patrick, the GM, also came over and chatted with us for a while about all sorts of things. He is such a lovely person - bright, personable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. You can tell he really cares about the experience people have here, and he does it so well. The charcuterie board was incredibly generous and absolutely delicious! I had a glass of bubbles, and my husband had one of the Cabs, which was SO good. Next time, I'll definitely make a reservation for the rooftop since I hear it books up quickly. I also really want to come back for one of their wax-dipping classes - it sounds like such a fun experience, and you can find the details on their website. Such a great little find with wonderful food, drinks, atmosphere, and genuinely kind people. We'll definitely be back! Hopefully sooner than later :)

We took several pictures and enjoyed our seats on the rooftop. The white wine was chilled to perfection and worth the visit. Would I go back? YES, I would.

The Pinot and 2020 Estate Cab are my favorites. 2. Tastings are affordable and the playlist is a mix of oldies and groovy RNB music. 3. The living room/couch set up is COMFORTABLE with a great view of all the goodies for purchase. 4. Adam Housley walked in, greeted all the patrons, and truly made us feel welcomed. The staff are already incredibly kind and well informed, but his surprise appearance was the cherry on top.

After we finished eating, I frantically researched (read: checked Yelp) for a winery to visit. Housley seemed to fit the bill--good reviews, dog-friendly (we had her dog with us), and what seemed to be a reasonable tasting price. We get there and we realize it's owned by Tamera Mowry (who is now Mowry-Housley!) There's a picture of her and her husband (a former baseball player) in the window. We're sort-of starstruck. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. I wish our wine tasting could've been free if we bought two bottles or something--I would've done that! Cute merch and store with goodies inside. Bathroom is clean. Would be back!
