    The gas when I got it

    Rented a car from Thursday after my flight from the airport to Sunday when I was flying back. Thursday we waited an hour in line before finally it was our turn. There was $284 in hidden fees, fine, they sent us to a parking spot for our car, f4, there was another couple in that car and they had been switched around 4 times already so I went back in to the desk. They then shuffled me around to 2 more vehicles with someone else promised or in them before finally I got in a little Chrysler mini van. Pacifica 2024. The car was dirty, windshield all smudged, and only a little over a half of tank of gas, even though the paperwork said full tank. Thank God I took pictures as I started to drive of the gas gage. One hour after driving to my destination for the night, the car had a message saying to pull over safely the car would be shutting down soon, the alternator light came on, and there was a symbol saying less then 1% battery life. I had to call the state police and the rescue line for the avis line and the state police had to flood and get us to safety. The police officer was amazing and got us safely home. The tow company came to pick up the car rental and I was promised a full refund. I did not get any refund yet but even a full refund was $514 out of $591 I paid and I was sent an Uber voucher to use for Sunday on the way to airport since thats what the car was for. The Uber voucher did not work to schedule a rode or at the time I needed the ride, or an hour or 2 or 3 before. I tried for 7 hours and nothing. So not only did I get nothing from this rental it was a horrible experience. The customer service over the phone was ok but they could do nothing to change or help my situation or get me a working car. The inside desk at CT airport was a joke. Im positive I won't be the only one leaving a similar review from the same date. April 9th was a bad day for avis and to be a customer for them. I would really appreciate ALL of my money back even 6axes etc, and then at least an additional $148.00 for the ride i had to pay for to the airport that was supposed to be a Uber voucher. Such a joke. I will be reviewing until I get my refund I didn't take 7 to 10 days to pay you so please process my refund as quickly as I processed my payment.     Let's make this company famous! It is easily the WORST rental company I've ever worked with. TWICE now, I have left property in a rental, and reported it literally within 30 minutes of dropping the car off, only for them to tell me that nothing has been found... which means one of two things... either their employees are all blind as a bat (which wouldn't be surprising after the second story I'll be telling you all), or they only hire dishonest thieves that like to pillage cars for other people's shit (definitely this one). On top of that, their asshat sad excuses for employees are NOT doing proper inspections of their vehicles... and are sending drivers off in vehicles with less tread on their tires than my 10 year old flip flops... and then refusing reimbursement for the insane amount of money that their clients have to pay out of pocket to get their vehicles off the road... but have the audacity to offer me more free rentals. I don't want ANY rentals. I want my money back. I want a company that doesn't treat their customers like shit. I'll be spreading this on every major social media site. I'll be making a video and getting it on youtube. I'm going to make you famous.

    The EXCESSIVE SAND from our shoes!

    Awful experience!! Not only was I given a vehicle with BALD TIRES I was JUST charged a cleaning fee 2 weeks after the return when the car was checked upon return for mileage, smoke smell, gas level, and dents!! I am infuriated that I am being charged a cleaning fee for "light sand" with the vehicle requiring VACUUMING and WIPING according to their own photos. A cleaning fee is for EXCESS dirt, smoking in the car, or dog hair, none of which applied to the vehicle I returned!! I have been renting from Avis and Budget for over 20 years and have never had such an awful rental car or awful experience. It is a sad day when Dollar Car Rental has better vehicles and customer service than Avis/Budget/Payless/Zipcar!! Update - After 6 emails and 3 phone calls I was told that if I didn't receive the vehicle with sand in the floor then I should have returned it without sand on the floor! This leads me to believe that in an attempt to save money Avis and Budget no longer bother vacuuming or wiping down their vehicles before they rent them again! That is disgusting and unacceptable for a $1,300 rental for a 12 day rental!!!

    We filled the gas tank before heading to airport and we were charged $150 for gas because it wasn't within 5 miles of airport.

    So, here's my story, I used a CC to rent and insure a Dollar rental car. (Prices approximate)…read morethrough Expedia, I might add. Cost $490.23 for the car and $140 for insuring said car...after the fact....meaning I used the same card for the insurance, but not the same day. We got to the front desk, told them I'd paid already, and they told me they needed to hold $200 plus I added $71 fuel cost which is $271. I proceeded to give my wife's credit card for the hold and the fuel. When the receipt was presented to me, there was a charge of $985, needless to say after seeing the receipt, I had to change my drawers. Now, long story, short, we worried through our whole trip about that charge, because it was a new credit card and we had no idea that that was going to be the charge on the card. And I was imagining all sorts of difficulty in trying to get that money reversed. Returning the car was a piece of cake. All that was needed was to leave the keys on the dash and walk away, which is pretty cool in my book. But still, I wondered or I should say, my wife and I wondered what the disposition would be of the final bill, and we had to wait a bit to see what would happen. (Suggestion: this is a pay at the Desk rental car company, that is why there was the large charge on the second credit card, however, I'm glad I reserved it early, they seem to have had a plethora of cars there.) Will we didn't receive a final bill but a few days later my wife and I were elated when that $985 had been returned on her new credit card, so we did indeed only pay the $630 or $40 needed which I'd already paid. So, other than worrying about that major expense on one card we were relieved to see the money returned, back on the Second credit card!!! So I'd like to say kudos to Expedia and to Dollar Rent-A-Car for a somewhat nervous but happy Experience, even though it was slightly stressful. If we had had foreknowledge of that big expense being returned, we likely would've not stressed so much, that said I would recommend dollar, they treated us fairly, and pretty good!!!

Long story short, this was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. The rental was paid in full and the customer service rep insisted that that was an estimate. The car we were given was not what we signed up for and later we saw that we were charged extra for it. They also charged some additional things that we did not agree to. There were many phone calls made and I think to save yourself all the headaches it would be in your best interest to do business elsewhere. It's not worth it.

    4/5 stars! Had to…read morecome to Boston for a quick fast business trip last minute, my local friends suggested to stay here since you can walk from the airport and back. Usually I don't like Airport hotels since the loud noise of planes taking off and landing right outside always bothered the hell out of me as I'm a light sleeper. But for some reason this hotel was not noisy at all. I did not hear the usually obnoxious planes taking off or landing as I usually do staying at an airport hotel. In fact it was rather quiet. They also upgraded me to a nice scenic water view of the bay in the corner so maybe thats another reason why it was so quiet? The only reason why this was not a 5/5 is because as many pointed out this hotel is rather expensive in price. Had it been a bit more competitive in price I could probably give it a 5/5 stars but it was like almost $300 for just one night! But also in all fairness, I think the FIFA games were in town so that probably drove up the cost of the prices. Also another weird thing was soon as I checked in I had to run up to my room and change for my meetings as my driver was already waiting for me outside to take me to my meetings. But as soon as I checked in some Indian looking lady comes right up to me from behind and she was like trying to sell me something as if they do for Time Share Hilton Grand Vacation Properties? I was like WTF? Is this a time share property too? I shut her down saying I have NO TIME to even talk to you right now and just ran up to my room. But god knows what she was trying to sell me in the lobby had I let her do her sales pitch to me right? This hotel comes with $18 credit if you are HH GOLD so I used the $18 to buy a few water bottles, and OJ, in the lobby. The small convenience store next to the front desk opens at 12AM midnight which is odd right? There were a number of guests trying to buy some water or soda and the front desk kept saying sorry its closed until 12am??? So I finished all my meetings and came back and it was midnight so I was able to buy those water bottles since it was midnight. But again just odd that it's not open until midnight right? The hotel itself is actually directly connected to the airport. So if you go to the 2nd floor you can walk right into the actual airport which was incredibly convenient as you can imagine. I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel thats literally directly connected to the airport like this!

Hilton room service was closed, only food option was package sandwiches and salads at the lobby convenience display. The room was decent and clean, bed mattress firm. Not much choice for breakfast, stay away from Berkshires, Cafe Presto better choice. Hilton shuttle runs every 15 mins and will take you to Logan and car rental depot.

    Finally an excellent experience at Budget Car Rental in Boston. This airport has won the longest…read morewait for a car but this time it had a twist. After waiting for an hour, someone from the back came out to help the agents. Karim told me to go to the end of the counter. I was almost afraid that I would not be served and have to get back in line. Once I saw him at the computer, I relaxed. Karim have me a Honda Accord, which was perfect for driving to NH. Upon returning, Karim just happened to be there as I drove up. Karim helped me when time was tight for me to get my flight. I was so grateful for the excellent service. Maybe Boston Logan Budget needs to have someone like this out front more often. There has to be a better way. It is demoralizing to take a 3 hour flight and have to wait an hour for a car rental. I take responsibility for not downloading FastPass. I only had 5% on my phone and wanted to make sure I had my reservation information.

    Budget Car Rental 6/15-23/2026: A Total Bust…read more I was reserved for a Toyota Camry or comparable. Sent away in a Toyota Tacoma with more than 36,000 miles on it, a pickup truck that had been ridden hard and hung up wet. Worse, when I turned on the Tacoma, the "maintenance required" light came on. The utterly unhelpful counter clerk would neither rent me one of the sedans in his inventory nor perform the maintenance required on the Tacoma. Before departing, I expressed concern to a succession of three Budget customer service reps through the 1-800 number. None would help. They sent me on my six-hour interstate drive with the pickup truck that required maintenance, breaching their written contract and endangering me and other drivers on the road. The third customer service rep with whom I spoke offered a $100 discount ... toward a future car rental. As if I'd reserve a car with Budget again. Heard of a win-win-win? This experience was a lose-lose-lose: loser car (pickup truck), loser customer service and loser company. Seek your ride elsewhere.
