We rented an SUV at the airport, all went smoothly and the vehicle was great. Returned it and a week or so later I received an email saying that they charged our card for toll charges. I messaged an inquiry as to when and where the alleged tolls were. I finally received the details and provided proof of when we checked out of our hotel. the toll charges were early in the morning on the day we left. at the times we supposedly went through the tolls. First of all the 3 tolls they said we went through and the stated times, there is NO WAY one could make it in the times stated. Plus since we could not prove that we were still in the hotel room at those times they refused to credit me back. I guess next time I need to send pics of us in bed, showering and dressing so we could head out. Won't be using or recommending Enterprise to anyone ever again. it wasn't the cost it was the principal. read more

That was a new and amazing experience! I was so happy I chose Enterprise this time because of the hurricane in FL. We usually choose Herz or Budget, In August 2024, we rented a minivan from Budget for the first 3 days, but the last 2 days from Enterprise. Let me give you the details, you will know why I liked Enterprise more. Budget----long line waiting to get your car, the condition was ok, 32000 miles, fabric seats, the camera was kind of blurry, and 3 days $860. BUT, when I called them to see if I could change the return location from Universal Studio to the Disney area, there were popular locations in Orlando, and only 16 minutes between, but they said $200!!! Unbelievable, of course, I didn't change. Enterprise---- Short line, efficient, new clean cars, more options, they told my husband to choose which car he preferred, and my husband picked one only 3000 miles with leather seats; the camera and sensor was amazing. That's the best decision, we drove 12 hours during the hurricane day. We were planning to drive back to MA, and return the car to a location in MA. But we found the flight in NC, so I called Enterprise and asked them if I could return the car to any location near NC airport, they said yes, and NO ADDITIONAL COST!!! So we returned the car to a location near the airport, and there was a shuttle bus that sent us to the airport for free!!! So I rented a car from Enterprise from 11 am till next day 1 pm, over 24 hours, but they didn't charge it as 2 days rental, they only charged me $256. Amazing! I rented a car from this location for the weekend and on Monday at 7am a gentleman called Ronald calls very rudely and aggressive telling me that I didn't drop off the key and he was going to charge me $500, that the car was blocking the rest of the cars. Although I let him know he was coming across very aggressive he never acknowledged or apologized. I returned the car after hours and I take pictures of everything. One of the pictures was of the key in the drop box. I emailed him right away the pictures and I asked him to check he said it would take him time. Not the way I wanted to finish my trip. Renting a car is already stressful in a new place added stress is not appropriate . The two ladies (at the front desk and whom gave me the car) were great. They made me feel comfortable. They are the only reason I gave 3 stars. By the way the keys were all of a sudden retrieved (found) my Enterprise. read more

*** Enterprise is located on the 8th floor of the Government Center Garage Parking *** It is for sure one of the most convenient (located within walking distance to Boston Public Market and the North End) and confusing (located on the 8th floor of the parking garage) Enterprise locations anyone will find in Boston. Use the Yelp address to locate the parking garage, but the entrance is actually located on Market St. I missed the garage entrance and I had to spend 5 additional minutes to drive around the entire block. There is NO outdoor sign for Enterprise and you will have to drive into the parking garage first. After you press the button and get a parking ticket, just follow the Enterprise sign and drive all the way up to the 8th floor. Check-out process was hassle free and I also had to hand over my parking ticket back to the staff. P.S. - Many of Boston's important highways are toll roads. Luckily if you use these toll lanes without a transponder, then Enterprise will automatically enroll you in the TollPass Service (only in Massachusetts). The cost is $3.95 per usage day and not to exceed $19.75 per rental period. read more

Worst Enterprise to go to is in Brockton, Ma ( 160 N Main Street) the person who is in charge when the manager is not there she's very rude. they eat at the store like they don't have a lunch break and the entire store smells weird. I got there asking to speak to the manager and she came with her mouth full of food, chewing, not ethical and looking like I had been bothering her.But that wasn't my main problem with them. I had to use enterprise's services through my car insurance. the first day I took they rental car a called them back because the panel came out with a message saying maintenance required. the Next day, I notice the tire was loosing air, and I called them back saying that I don't feel safe driving that car, and they just gave me excuses. I called Enterprise to complain and they said to go to Brockton Store and change the car and in the store they continued to say that there was nothing available. I had the car for 4 weeks and had to do the air serviced 4 times. an employee had the audacity to tell me that I could go anywhere if they turned on the machine in the car to find out what maintenance the car was requiring and the air is easy thing to fixe. After all the maintenance inconvenience, when I returned their car a new season started. They are so lazy to deal with insurance, what they tried to do, charge me and I go after my insurance for reimbursement. It has been very stressful dealing with them specially when the lady in charge when the manager is not there has no clue how to deal with customer And use threats to deal with customer. read more

I CHOOSE to do that with the Enterprise on Dorchester Ave. in South Boston. Every single interaction with them makes me never want to rent from anywhere else. Everyone I deal with, from the former manager Vlad to the current one, Zach, to everyone else who works or has worked there -- Lamara, Sharysse, Josh -- is absolutely delightful. They get me in and out quickly. They are professional, attentive, patient, and very friendly. Plus, the cars are always immaculate. I'll try to get to the point quickly. I rented from enterprise at Logan airport and they were a 5 star experience. My license was suspended but they allowed my wife to be the primary driver while I paid for the rental vehicle on my credit card. No big deal, everything was ok. I went to this downtown location and ran into the worst, thee worst experience on my vacation. They refused to allow me to pay for the car with my credit card while making my wife the primary driver. My wife only had a debit card to pay for the car. Enterprise requires a return flight number to allow you to use a debit card to pay. I hadn't booked a return flight since my vacation was going to span several cities over several days. I needed the car, so I reluctantly booked a return flight just like I was told by another enterprise employee so I could secure my car. What happened next almost ruined my trip. Emily C. Bean (management trainee) told me my return flight number needed to be booked in advance. I asked her what that meant. She said I had to have booked my return flight before arriving to enterprise. She said I could not book my return flight while standing in front of her (even though another employee told me it was ok). She refused to rent me a car. She refused to call her manager saying "He will be back." I asked for the corporate number and she told me to "google it."I should have known she wasn't going to be much help when I noticed her texting while she was on a call with a customer. When Sander the manager showed up he was no help. So I left to Avis and got a nicer car at a much better rate and did not have to deal with the arrogance and dismissive attitude of the lady at this location. Funny thing is I got a call from Enterprise management about a half hour later saying they would rent me the car after all. No thanks! Avis saved the day, and I will tell all of my friends to avoid this enterprise location. Managers should be problem solvers. This employee should remain in training until she learns that. read more

I was ripped off by Hertz in Boston two weeks ago. When I rented the car, I was asked if I wanted them to fill the tank up upon my return. I was told that I would be paying three dollars a gallon for whatever needed to be filled. I thought that was a good idea so I agreed to that. I brought the car back with 7/8 of a tank full, and I was subsequently charged $56.02 (in an email) after I returned the car. When I called Hertz to dispute the charge, I was told that the representative upon renting the car, didn't explain things correctly to me. I think that was on them, but apparently that's their way of making $56 extra for each car that they rent. I'll never rent from Hertz again. read more

Besides this location, I have never had a problem with enterprise. I rented a car for one day back on November 4. I returned the car on November 5, slightly after hours. To my surprise, when the bill came, I had been charged for November 4-November 7, THREE TIMES the cost of the one day rental. I have since called Enterprise at least four times over the past few weeks and each time, I have been promised a refund for these excessive charges that is pending the "accounting office approval." Today, the Enterprise employee told me that these refunds usually get processed in 24-48 hours, and that he would look into this and call me back with updates. He never called me back. I have no idea if and when I will ever see my refund and will never return to this Enterprise location again. Would not recommend! read more

Rented a car from the Congress St location for one day while vacationing in Boston in June 2019. Rental process was fine...pretty typical. I returned the car after hours and didn't have any problems with the return process or eventual charges. The return location is a bit hard to find, though, even with their printed directions. I had to drive around for 5 minutes or so looking for the correct garage entrance I was supposed to enter. Once I found the entrance, I had no trouble finding the correct return location on the 9th floor. Once you know where the entrance is, future rentals shouldn't be a problem. The entrance is on a small side street, and depending on which direction you're driving on that street, you might miss it like I did at first. The street has a right angle, and the entrance is right there at the turn. A diagram on their printed instructions would have been so much more helpful than the abundance of words. read more

My insurance assigned me a car from Enterprise (Downtown Boston Government Center) for 3 weeks while mine was being serviced. After my vehicle was ready early by 2 days, I was told by Enterprise that I can drop off the rental at the body shop and they will collect it. The problem is that it took them 2 days to collect the rental and as a result it got 2 parking citations for overnight parking. They tried to exhaust the length of the rental agreement, although I was not driving the rental anymore. Instead of taking care of those parking citations, they charged me for them. On top of that, they charged the insurance company for those 2 extra days. Ever since, it's been a lengthy and frustrating process to properly adjust the rental agreement to the days I was actually driving the car, not the dates that they want to. I have talked to multiple managers, I have left numerous messages to their branch manager, and complained to the Enterprise Cares twitter account to no avail. I never had to deal with a company that unwilling to fix their mistakes. If you and your company need a reliable car rental company, please look elsewhere. read more

yelp to the rescue! We had intended on renting a car from dollar but after reading the reviews about them on here, I started looking elsewhere. In steps enterprise and its glowing reviews on yelp. We booked a car about a week in advance at this location since it was within a walk from our hotel. When we arrived, the guys in the booth downstairs were extra accommodating, got everything ready to go within 5 minutes and sent us upstairs to pick up our car. When we got upstairs, we saw the last dodge charger driving away. rats! Luckily they had a Chrysler 300 that we picked up for an extra 5 bucks a day. We were setup quickly and off we went to see the fall colours in New England. When we returned the car, they waived the 3rd day since we returned it about 90 minutes after our time to have it back. awesome! After we dropped the car off and maybe 2-3 hours later, my wife realized she didn't have her cell phone. We called enterprise and had a couple people look through the car but they couldn't find anything. We walked back over and they let us go up to the garage and check ourselves. We were able to find it jammed deep deep down in the seats but only because we kind of knew where we had seen it last. Either way, they were really accommodating to check for us and then have us take a look as well. If I'm back to Boston and need a car, I'll be using these guys. read more

I circled the block a few times then entered the parking garage. There are no signes for enterprise on the parking structure. Once inside the parking structure there are 8 or 10 signs in the parking structure. Once I turned in the car I asked why there ate no signes. He said its public so they canp put signs up. Really theirs a bunch in side. He started arguing with me. Why is there no sign outside or a big arrow painted on the glass office whth the enterprise sigh? Anyway they did email me. That helps! Just returned from a weekend away in a rental car from this location. I cannot say how pleased I was with the service here. I have rented cars from an Enterprise in Malden and the one @ Fresh Pond, but this place offered the best experience by far. The staff here is unfailingly friendly and helpful. They were wonderful early on a Saturday morning, and even on a Monday morning, so I assume they always are! The manager, Greg, is great. I often feel uneasy renting cars, anticipating some hidden charge or major snag, but this experience was easy and stressless from the time I picked up the car to the moment I dropped it off. I highly recommend this location for service and convenience. It will definitely be my branch of choice in the future. read more

This is really a diamond in the rough. It is located in a small booth at the bottom of the Government Center Parking Garage. If you go underneath it on the surface road you will be able to see it on your left if you are heading away from faneuil hall. I had already booked my car online for a conference in VT the next morning. I sometimes have a problem getting the company authorization to go through but it worked perfectly at this location. The associates at the booth were very quick, painless, and friendly. The same goes for the associate in the garage. They were able to give me a brand new 2011 SUV for no extra charge. I will definitely be coming here for all of my long business trips. I am almost reluctant to post this because I don't want anyone else to know about it so I can continue to get the free upgrades. read more

I was renting frequently from this location for years (was). Not anymore. The service here has gone wayyy downhill. They used to have quality staff who were friendly and helpful and knew you by name. The Managers and assistant managers were great and went out of their way to accommodate. That has all changed. Staff is indifferent at best and down right rude at worst. Managers are not any better which is very surprising and very disappointing. What happened to the Enterprise service culture? Everyone at this location needs to be re-trained or let go. read more

I had to write a review about this car rental we got last weekend. My sister and I flew in last minute for a funeral and got a shockingly good rate on the car through Hotwire. Although we had to take the T to get from the airport to Enterprise, it was well worth it. Once we got there, The guy at the desk was very friendly and helpful. I needed to rent an economy car for 2 days to see the beautiful changing color trees in Vermont. All the car rental companies at Logan Airport were charging $84 plus per day, highway robbery. I decided to check Enterprise in North End and I was able to secure a reservation at $45 per day. On check in, I was up-graded to a compact at no extra charge. The friendly and helpful clerks had all my paper works ready and we were on the road in less than 15 minutes. The return process was even quicker. We were out of Enterprise and walking to Mulligan's for lunch in 5 minutes. Definitely will consider Enterprise in the future. read more

Returned a rental on Freeport street location and accidentally left my blind handicap grandsons special headsets and a gift card in the rental car, I quickly tried to call the office but they was closed early due to the Holiday so I called today after the office only to be told that there was nothing left in the rental car not the headset or gift card that's bullshit. I'd had a pretty solid experience here renting a spiffy hybrid with 400 miles on it, so when I had to rent a car at the last minute to get home for Christmas after my (parked) car was smacked and rendered undriveable in a pinball game of an accident at four in the morning, I figured hitting up Enterprise would be a no-brainer. Ugh. No. Wrong. Made my reservation for ten days, knowing I would be submitting it for full insurance reimbursement (even though the claim was still being processed; i.e., I didn't have the full claim number to give directly to Enterprise). Total, plus young driver fee, comes to around $1100. I think, okay, that sucks, but at least I can pay it out of pocket if I know I'm getting it all back. Two days before Christmas, I go to pick up the car. Filling out forms, everything's going great, when they ask how I'd be paying. I told them debit, since as a young person with a short credit history, my limit's just shy of the subtotal for the rental. The lady working the dest told me that's alright, but there'd be a lot more forms involved. That's fine, I say, whatever I have to do to get in the car. So she brings out the forms and asks whether my insurance transfers over to rentals, which it does, and I told her as much. She then said she had to call my insurance company to check; again, totally fine by me. Here's where things go south. Two minutes later, she hangs up the phone and says my insurance company's system was down, and says there's no way I can pay with my debit card unless we have this info. She then asks me if there's anything I can pay off on my credit card to make room, and I tell her it wouldn't make a difference, what with the credit limit and all. I ask about paying cash, and she says they won't take cash. I ask about looking up my info from before, which she says they can't do. I ask about possibly having my girlfriend (who was at work at the time) call in and give them her info, which they say they won't do. I ask if there's anything they CAN do -- after all, the whole reason I'm here is so I can make an emergency rental so we can get home for the holidays after my own car was an innocent bystander nearly totaled in someone else's wreck, so at least I'm hoping they can call my insurance company back and see if their system is running so I can use my debit card. The lady working the desk says, "No, I hope you have a better day." And that was that. Enterprise, I understand that you've got your reasons for these policies, and the last thing I want to do is try to legitimize my frustration with some sort of "Wahh I'm a special snowflake and you should bend everything for MEEEE" sort of argument, but seriously? I can pay you. I have your money. Every penny. Available to you in several legally acceptable forms of payment. Hell, I'd go to the bank and take out the full total in quarters just so I can get home for Christmas when every train, plane and dirigible out of Boston is booked for the next week. As if any of that really matters, since the only reason I'm not paying for this via an insurance claim is because the at-fault party's insurance policy told me to just book it and submit it for later reimbursement. That's like having a co-signer, for crying out loud! But no, I guess having my insurance info from the last time I rented on file and the whole thing on money about "legal tender" and whatnot is just a bunch of nonsense you can ignore. Especially on December 23, you grinches. (All this, and in checking on my earlier spiffy hybrid rental while trying to figure all of this out, I saw they overcharged me by around $150. Everything was fine with this rental. I see comments previously about not knowing where to return the car, but they provide a printout with clear directions on how to return the car, return the keys securely, and how to enter the parking garage address in a GPS. They're the only car rental in that area that allows car returns at any time, even when they are closed. Pickup was quick and efficient. Car was clean and in excellent condition. The purpose of renting the car was to use it to drive from Boston to my home in Connecticut. Why would I have a return flight to St. Louis if I live in CT?? I already made a personal call to customer care and left entire story and all my contact information. I specifically asked that regional managers for both regions call me. I was contacted by no one from Enterprise. The most recent Yelp response is weak customer service and now they want me to be further inconvenienced and email "customer care" and give them all the facts. I suggest Enterprise do a simple query of who rented a Ram 2500 pickup truck in Manhattan with a drop off in North Boston. I am sure there is one event.
