Booked a rental in advance. Had an infant car seat. They tried to give me a forward facing booster seat. The solution? Send ME to another store. Not one of their reps? Get in the car, rental agreement says tank is full. It's at 3/4. I take pictures call Avis they give me a case ID tell me to call back when I return. The whole company and their franchise partners are incompetent and scammers. If I had returned the vehicle with less than a full tank they would have charged me. Paul is great running this location! I booked with Budget last time, so this time around booked with Avis. Paul helped me upgrade to a slightly bigger car, which was better for gas too. Paul provides the best customer service I've experienced with a car rental staff member. Downside, phones can be backed up, so might not get back to you, but if you really need a response, keep calling and trying! Had to ding a star on after my interaction with Paul. Paul had another staff member bring me to the garage and car (last time Paul took me himself). So I'm guessing business is picking up which is great! I forgot the gentleman's name, but he told me to wait while he grabbed the car. Max I was thinking 1 min to bring the car around. I was standing there for at least 10 min, before I went back up to Paul to ask for an update...wasn't sure what was happening / not sure if there was some accident that might have happened. Paul mentioned that he was probably cleaning the car from the previous renter. I went back down, another 7-8 min pass and he brings the car around, and yes, it was to clean the car. Definitely don't think someone needs to wait close to 20 min to get the car without any update...hopefully they can improve on that and have clean cars readily available. Car itself still was slightly dirty, but I had places to go so didn't mind it. I dropped the car off at Sea-tac before I flew out, so easy in and out. Although, not the most ideal experience, I've had PLENTY WORSE compared to this instance. I will book with Paul at Avis/Budget with confidence in the future! This was my first time using this location to rent a car from AVIS. I made a reservation over the phone before going to the place to pick up the car. That took me almost an hour in total :( The agent led me to the parking garage and made me wait over 10 minutes after saying that she would bring the car over. She said she had to have the car cleaned. There was no car inspection done before the hand-off, and right before driving away, I noticed an error message saying that the engine oil is low. I complained about this and asked for another car. The second car seemed ok, but I later found out that this car was also low on engine oil and the seats in the back were in a filthy condition. I doubt any part of the car has been cleaned before I received. read more

100% yes! I had been having a tire pressure issue with my rental and needed immediate assistance. I am so glad I stopped by this AVIS because I have never been helped so well by a rental car store. The gentleman behind the counter stated they dont have a mechanic there, but he went out to check my tire with me. He said the gas station nearby has air for free and helped me backup to use a side entrance to it. Then! He even walked over to help as I was arriving to use the pump. Been a returning customer for while. Last time though, rented a car, returned it with no issues. Almost a month later, got a $400+ bill claiming Tire damage!!! Email the address in the letter for photo evidence, and they responded with a wordy letter that I didn't select coverage. But still didn't provide any evidence. For a last minute quick rental, this place is the place. They were right down the road from our hotel which was walking distance. The thing that got me too write this review was when we were walked down to the car garage to review the car with the associate, the car was filthy!!! When he asked us to check for existing scratches, turning on the flashlight to look at the car it was hard to tell if it was a scratch or dirt! When we brought that to his attention, his response was "that's just the way it is." Overall, we did let them know at the first transaction then again when returning it after a 24 hour rental. They were able to discount it slightly. Sad because we saw a car wash just a block away and all of this could have been avoided. read more

Overall we had a smooth experience with our car rental. We booked an Economy vehicle a month in advance. After checking in at the counter, an employee led us down to the garage. The car was in a good condition: only minor outside scratches, interior was clean, and our road trips had no problems. It would have been useful if a heads up was given regarding the SR 520 Toll Bridge. It's the main route between Seattle and the Eastside, and there are no physical booths. If crossing the toll bridge frequently during the rental, I'd advise to purchase The Good To Go! pass at a nearby retail store for $5. Over a month after our rental, we received toll charges that were based off of the pricier pay-by-mail rates as well as eToll convenience fees imposed by Avis. The fees are $5.95 per usage day with a max of $29.75 per rental. read more

Best Avis downtown! Had a frustrating start to the weekend when I discovered my car wouldn't start. This lead to me to make a last minute Avis reservation. I visited 3 different Avis locations downtown - all had no rentals in stock, despite me being able to make reservations online and even calling ahead to confirm. Finally, I visited the Avis location in KOMO Plaza. The rep there (Paul) gave me the best news.. they had multiple cars in stock! Great customer service. Overall it took 10 minutes - from stepping into the office to stepping into the rental car. Paul told me he personally cleaned the car the day before. I had a very poor experience with Avis and Paul Malaythong specifically. The car I received was extremely dirty, and included unsanity items from a previous customer. I had to throw these items away myself once I discovered them. Paul himself was quite rude and clearly doesn't value his customers. I won't be renting here again. read more

I dropped off the car before they closed. They told me to just leave the keys due to being busy checking out cars to other customers. I asked where I should leave the car and they indicated in the lot across the street. I asked if there would be any problems leaving it there, I was told no. I now have a $30 ticket because it took 45 minutes for them to check the car in and have not been able to get it resolved. When I called this location directly I was told it was my fault despite checking with the counter agent. The counter agent yelled at me and hung up on me. Very unprofessional. The counter agent got a ticket and I am paying for it. I will be disputing this with my credit card company and making a report to the better business bureau. read more

The gentleman at the airport was super nice and everything else about this car rental was an absolute nightmare. Their solution to a leaking tire, that I filled 3x daily to keep inflated, was to return it to the nearest avis. That was my only option. The nearest avis was at the airport, two hours away, and I was unable to bring the car back for a couple more days because of my work schedule. The tire went flat over night about day 4 of me having the car. I called to ask what to do, and they told me to put the spare on, which is fine but then if have to drive on the spare for the rest of my work week and then to the airport hours away. I just... Don't understand how it took 4 phone calls and me to be stranded for them to break down and tell me they will have someone come fix my tire. read more

I basically was stranded waiting for help for over a total of 4 hours both days. If you're looking for a place to rent a car when you're in Seattle, please pay this establishment a visit. The customer service was great! These guys got me in a nice new car that I wouldn't have to worry about anything in. Just a note... Triple A doesn't work on a Budget rental car if you need a jumpstart.. you can only use Budget's towing service. I was charged for 2 jumpstarts that cost me more than the total of my rental car that weekend because i didn't add in the service at the time of rental. read more

Booked 3 weeks in advance and was told on the day that there will be no cars available. FIFTEEN customers are in line before me, most of whom are no getting cars before the office closes! If you cannot provide a car, please do not pull this scummy tactic on your customers and leave them stranded last minute. I will be missing an important conference because of Avis, and all they offered was to cancel my reservation for me. This is absolutely unacceptable. This was the easiest car rental experience I have ever had. The gentleman who runs this Avis rentAl was sweet and funny and super helpful. There was no hard sell. And on top of it all when we returned the car we had several hours to spare and had tickets to the Space Needle. They actually let us store our bags there until we needed to go to the airport. Not making accusations I'll just share facts. I left my AirPods in my rental car. I watched the AirPods on FindMy the following several days and they spent the hours of 9-5 at Avis, then moved to south Seattle at night. I called Avis lost and found and they told me to go to the location to retrieve them. I showed up and the manager said "they aren't here". I told him they were here, because I walked through the garage and my phone connected to them. He had his wife bring me to the garage to look for them, and she asked her brother who cleans the cars. He found them in a small box near the cleaning supplies and said that's where they had been. Yet I watched them go all around the map all week. He also said "I looked them up they're expensive, huh? $159 on Amazon?" Weird comment. They never contact me to say the AirPods were found. The car was brand new and I was the first person to rent it, so they would have known who's they were when the car was dropped off. Also they were only halfway charged when I left them, then they were miraculously fully charged when I got them back. Wouldn't recommend going Here. read more

Rent from literally anyone else. I've never had a worse experience renting a car in my life. I explicitly reserved a large truck. When I arrived they tried to give me a small truck, and when I refused they told me it would be 30 minutes to drive one from SEATAC. Coming back 30 minutes later, they told me it would be another 30 minutes. Checking in a hour later, they said "The check engine light came on and we can't give you the car". I eventually took the next closest thing which really didn't fit my needs. When asked for what they were going to do to make it right, they told me to get lost. read more

Staff went above and beyond for us. This was only Budget Car Rental that was opened past 2pm during abbreviated Covid-era hours. When the rental at the airport didn't have a 4WD SUV that we had requested, this location was able to accommodate and we were able to exchange the rental vehicle easily for a 4WD so we could drive up to the snowy mountains. In my case, I arrived early from the cruise port, they were able to give me a car a few hours ahead of the scheduled time. Advised me that the parking ticket was good for two hours, I could walk around a bit before taking the car out. The location was easy to get to. This Budget/Avis location is on a city street and their cars are not on-site. When we arrived, there were 2 parties in line and no agents to be seen for 5 or 10 min. Once they finally returned and finished up with the other people, a very nice young man with a good attitude waited on us. He took off to get our SUV and we waited another 5 or 10 minutes. He pulled the car up on the side of the street and explained the features. We loaded up and pulled away. Once we closed the doors and windows, I realized they had sprayed a LOT of Febreeze inside. I am allergic to Febreeze, so was not happy. We passed another Budget office not too far away so I ran in, but the line was really long and we had time constraints. As we drove south on I-5, I called the Olympia Budget location, hoping we could trade the car there, because we had also discovered that the car had not been cleaned inside, except maybe some vacuuming. The guy at the Olympia location told me that "ALL Budget cars are guaranteed to have that 'new car' smell", which is just Febreeze chemicals sprayed all over! He suggested we roll the windows down. Although it was 60 degrees and raining, we did that and after about an hour it did dissipate most of the way. We stopped at a gas station further down the road to use windshield paper towels to wipe down the inside, which was coated in dust and clean the inside of the windshield. This location obviously doesn't employ enough people to clean or deliver their vehicles. Guess I won't be renting from Budget anymore if they spray all their cars with that crap. Those chemicals can aggravate asthma and cause migraines and it has NO place in every single car or hotel room that someone with those issues might rent. read more

This trip was an absolute disaster. I asked for a full sized car and only received a small jeep. When I looked at the car in the parking garage, everything seemed to be fine but when I got it back to my hotel, I found that there was a large crack in the windshield and that my suitcases would not fit in the car. The phone line was extremely unhelpful, transferring me back and forth between the SAME automated messages. They informed me that I could not drive with the crack in the windshield and they needed to send roadside assistance. So now Im stuck with a car that my family can't fit in and we are waiting for it to be towed. I am very unimpressed with this service and would not recommend this car rental. read more
