Apparently a "reservation" at Enterprise is just a suggestion they're free to ignore. A 15-passenger van isn't something you rent on a whim -- it's for a group trip that takes weeks of planning and coordination. What made it worse was the staff. No apology. No urgency. No attempt to locate a van at another branch or make it right. Just unprofessional indifference, as if stranding a customer who planned a month ahead is business as usual here. Based on this experience, maybe it is. If you actually need a vehicle on a specific date -- especially a large one -- do not trust this location with your reservation. "We'll pick you up" means nothing when they won't even honor what you booked.

A few days before we were to pick the car up, my husband happened to be by the pick up location and noticed that the building was shut down and the Hertz sign was no longer in place. He called Hertz and asked where we should pick up the car on Saturday, June 1. He was given an alternate pick-up address which turned out to be a truck pick up location only AND when we arrived there was a note stuck on the door which read 'Closed on Saturdays until further notice'. We then spent the next hour on hold with Hertz trying to figure out what to do. Once they answered, the only options were to pick a car up at the airport at double the cost OR void the contract which started Saturday, June 1 and start a new contract starting Monday, June 3. We choose option 2 and went to pick up the car Monday, June 3 at which time we are told having 2 drivers on the car costs $13/day extra. However, the agent said if we signed up as a Gold Member the $13 fee gets waved. We started to sign up, she said there was no need. Just finish the contract, sign up as a Gold Member and call an 800# to apply the difference. You can probably guess what happened based on the stellar service received thus far. We called the office and were told that it would only apply to future rentals. We asked to speak to a manager. There were none available but we could leave our number and hear from someone in 72 hours. Wow. All I can say is do not rent a car from Hertz. It is frustration from start to finish!!

They do not inform you that you need to clean the car before you bring it back, and threatened to charge us a $450 cleaning fee if we didn't vacuum the back. It was not excessively dirty, and they need to clean the car anyway, so we are not sure why they are demanding us to vacuum. There was also a large scratch on the front of the car when we rented it, that the guy who worked there happened to "miss," and luckily my wife saw it. We will not be returning, as the owners were extremely rude and caused us a great amount of stress.

The vehicle was filthy but he cleaned it up before I drove off. The car worked well... fortunately we were given an All-Wheel Drive SUV so we could manage the snow we encountered on the trip. No problems with the vehicle itself. Upon return, this Vivian was there, and was the only one working that day. I feel bad for this older women whose husband was the original owner. She isn't quite up to her game. This place is very small, located in a shack-turned-storefront with peeling lead paint, and not exactly what I was picturing for a Budget rental location. After speaking with representatives at 1-800-BUDGET, I was reassured and things were made right. I will rent from Budget again, but not from this spot on Watson!

Finally we get the car but they didn't even fill it up with gas so we had to go and fill it up when we were already supposed to be leaving for our trip. The car was supposedly cleaned but it didn't look like it. The cup holders were dirty and the side door compartments as well. The care also did not smell good. It took them forever to get the minivan to us and we were the only people there. Very disappointed in Avis.

My wife and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary by traveling to all of our favorite places around St. Louis. Our driver, Dado, was extremely courteous, patient, and knew his way around town (he even navigated around the train tracks in downtown Kirkwood). Plus, he was a safe driver. The limo itself was clean and in good shape. The only downside was that the interior smelled a little bit like cigarette smoke.
