Very satisfied with our experience. After being misquoted for dates from another company I was in a bind to find something available and affordable on short notice. I pre-paid online for a next day rental (online would not allow me to rent same day) and was able to pick the vehicle out (of course from the class that I paid for) and change the rental period starting that day when we got there to add the additional driver which made things more convenient at the time. Then literally hours before we were expecting to leave we had a death in our family and ended up delaying our trip. Mark was very considerate and flexible with adding on the additoinal days we needed. If/when I ever need a rental car again I would definitely go here again. read more

Soooo, I was on the Avis app WHICH if you didn't know is considered a 3rd party app from what customer service told me! not sure if that's true but use the online website not the app!!! I had a res for 6pm today. I called to confirm I could pay with debit and I was informed to bring a bill with my address. Okay so far so good. I spoke with the rep at this location for like 15 minutes..... NOT ONCE did she say they close at 6pm!!!! I spent 30$ on an uber just to go to a closed location. Support couldn't do anything as there were no vehicles at the airport so I basically wasted 60$ on Ubers and have to waste another 30$ tomorrow to go get it! Need to train employees better, or hire people who care. They're making money and the company did not. After I called customer service and was told I'm sorry that sucks 20 times. MY ADVICE FOR AVIS!!!! Put the location hours on the booking so WE KNOW WHEN THE LOCATION CLOSES. ALSO do not allow reservations AT THE SAME TIME THE PLACE CLOSES. Seriously, huge regret choosing this Avis location. I only gave 2 stars because I like Avis usually, never many issues. Today was a big one, wasted more money than the rental costs. read more

I'm honestly not even sure where to start with this one. My daughter is in town for the holidays and needed a car for her stay. She reserved online & when we went to pick up the car in Hamburg, they told us they didn't realize she actually NEEDED all 7 passenger seats, so they didn't have anything big enough. The associate instructed us where to go a few miles down the road, though, in Orchard Park, and assured us they had a vehicle. We drove to OP, then had to go through all the same question & answers with the representative at this location. My daughter explained she's visiting from out of the country & it's been a long time since she's been in the driver's seat. Still, when it was time to get the SUV, the guy never offered to explain any of the vehicle's features. We did our best to figure out all the dials & switches, and when we couldn't, I finally went in to get the guy. I waited with my daughter while he went through the features, and then she asked him, "isn't it against your policy to smoke in the cars?" and he said it was. So she pointed out that the SUV smells like weed & she was not thrilled about it. He told her, "oh! We know it wasn't you. We won't charge you." So she told him, "but I've got to smell this!" So he offered an air freshener and a weak smile. Two days ago, I received a text reminding us the rental will be going back soon. She paid to have the vehicle from 12/20-1/22. The vehicle isn't due back for another three weeks. Either they have messed something up with her reservation or they are really over-exaggerating "soon." No chance will she be renting from Avis again, and safe to say I won't be either. read more

Rented a vehicle February 3 2026 and was given a dodge ram that was NOT ROADWORTHY. The alignment was very bad and the truck failed to start the next day and had me stuck in the freezing cold . Mark will do and say anything to get you to rent a vehicle but fails to make sure the vehicles he rents out are ROADWORTHY. Rented car from Avis before, try to avoid this location because their prices are always high... Returned car on time, drove 60 miles...put nearly 3 gallons in tank, in a car which gets 30 miles per gallon....pump shut off twice indicating the tank was full....gas gage did not show full, the rental agent told me to take to different station and try to fill again, no time to take car to yet another gas station Made me feel as though I wasn't being honest when I told him I filled the car to max Only rented at this location because there were no cars available at the airport or other local agencies... read more

Wish I could give zero stars!! This place is the worst and I have no idea how it stays in business!! We rented a large size pick up truck with a hitch and was told it would be there. Low and behold when we arrive they gave us a Nissan short bed Frontier with no hitch, a front passenger tire with low air and disgustingly dirty vehicle. We were stuck between a rock and a hard place and that is what they count on in order to scam their customers. I was charged for a large Ford F-150 or similar and received a hunk of junk. Beware of these scam artists they will steal your money and give you a vehicle that nearly passes inspection!! read more

My rental was for an insurance claim. Normally I go through Enterprise, but wasn't able to get something quick enough. The woman I spoke with at Avis got me something very quickly. The day I picked up the rental the guy acted like I was bothering him. He had me initial a few things, sign and boom was on my way. I thought this was strange as at Enterprise they explain everything to you and go out to look at the vehicle with you to ensure there are no problems. Knowing the rental policies with Enterprise I didn't ask any questions. I return the vehicle yesterday with 0 problems. Today i look at my bank account to find a charge from Avis. I call and get the guy that did the agreement the day I picked up. He tells me that the woman had upgraded me to a truck at an SUV rate. I had mentioned I drove a truck and wanted a bigger vehicle, so her thought on that was appreciated. The problem is, I was never told that the upgrade would put me at my limit for my insurance coverage and that I was going to be stuck with the sales tax, $135. Had anyone at any point in time explained this to me I would've said no, find me something cheaper as I did not have the extra money to be covering this. Yhe guy then proceeds to tell me "well maybe you should ask questions." How am I going to ask questions on something I never knew about? I call the corporate office and get told they won't do anything. I filed a complaint so that hopefully these people will learn how to do their jobs properly and someone in the future doesn't get screwed the way I did. Thank you Avis, now I'm out my grocery shopping money for my children and you taught me a valuable lesson. Never go through Avis and steer everyone you know to stay away from you. read more

Mark Richheimer at Avis saved my bacon when Budget Rent a Car airport location gave away my confirmed reservation and closed early on September 14/15, 2016 to avoid all the customers it had angered in a similar fashion. All the airport rental agencies were out of cars since it was after midnight the day before a Bills game. I had to pay for a cab to Orchard Park at 1 a.m. The next morning we called around. Avis down the street from where I was staying had a couple cars left. But I had no way to get there and we had to get to my niece's wedding rehearsal and dinner that afternoon. Mark said he could drive and pick me up at 9:30 am, which he did. This Avis location, and Mark in particular, really came through for me when Budget let me down big time. DO NOT BOOK A RENTAL HERE! First time renting a car because of some car issues. Was able to book a car easily and go the next morning to pick it up. When I got the car, it was dirty with crumbs, wrappers and empty bottles rolling around in the back and a engine oil light that would not go away the entire rental. It also had a smoky smell like they tried to cover up with something that just made it worse. I decided to return in to the Webster, NY location and when I tried calling to confirm I was all set to return, no one answered (I called several times). Finally I called the Orchard Park location and asked for help and the man basically just said "don't know what to tell you" and that I actually had the rental for 2 more days and that I paid for the week versus just paying for 5 days like I asked for. I was not aware that I was paying for the full week and paid extra money. No one told me until the day I was suppose to return it that I "could have had it for two more days". My paperwork said to return it Sunday so that is what I did. This Webster location does not pull up on google maps and their number does not work, which is very sketchy. I decided to show up and try to drop the car off. The lady working at the location in Webster told me that their fax number shows as their phone number when trying to call, they said they have told corporate about it and they did nothing. Was so happy to get rid of this rental, will not be using this company again. read more

I have to comment on the extremely helpful customer service I have received at this location for car and truck rentals. Mark and Meagan go above and beyond to work with each customer to try to get them on their way. Meagan is an amazing individual. I watched her clean vehicles, answer phones and find quotes in minutes with a smile and great customer service attitude. She is super human. Mark is very helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions on what to do for long distance rentals. Also, Meagan hooked my daughters car to be towed to the rental truck insuring safety for us. I don't know where else to send an email to explain the predicament budget placed me in this last Friday November 10th in Buffalo NY. I was under the impression my car was at the airport. And after carefully reading the terms before paying with My DEBIT card i was under the impression that when renting from the airport with proof of a return flight using a debit card would not be a problem considering my not so great credit. Well, after my car NOT being at the airport, and a $30 taxi ride to a very very high crime area in buffalo, i was denied a car 20 mins before budgets closing time. I was left in the cold for over 2 hours in 20 degree weather fending off men approaching me in a dark and desolate crime ridden area 8 hours from home. I relied on budget to keep me safe and get me to where i needed to safe and securely. I don't understand how i was able to pay for a car, have a reservation and book an entire trip to be denied the car!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say i slept in the airport until i was able to get another flight home. The money this company cost me, the danger i was put in, and the flu i got after standing in the cold for so long is all on budget. I can't believe you people can do this to your PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!!! While at budget a supervisor even hung up on me while voicing my fear and concern!!!! It is imperative someone contact me regarding this hellish incident i endured because i relied on budget car rental, planned a trip around budget and was put in danger, got sick, and lost tons of money as the trip could no longer go on without a car. And to think i have to wait 5-7 business days for a refund on a car i never qualified for to begin with is unbelievable. I'm so disgusted and disappointed and i as well as the corporation i work for vow to express what budget put me through on every social media platform, as well as other media platforms. People need to know they cannot trust in budget. Budget will take your money, confirm your reservation and leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere and that is downright wrong and inhuman. since we first wrote this complaint our beloved Filamina..died because she was subjected to a grueling 7 day trip in the cab of a rental truck. She was a fighter, she had been thru an attack by coyotes and lived. Filamina was not a delicate Cat. she was strong from adversity and thriving and healthy. This forced 7 day nightmare wore her down to literal death. We did everything we could thru the help of a very competent Vet but she was just too stressed out and deprived to pull thru. This was supposed to be a 2 and a half day trip. Filamena would have breezed thru the 21/2 day trip but Budgets 'Sucks To Be You" attitude killed her. They refused us competent roadside assistance and left us on our own to limp across the country with a fully laden 26 foot diesel Nightmare that would only run 30 miles per hour on flat land and stall out on any incline for hours. Shame on all you people at Budget Truck Rental/Avis. You are all Liars and the kind of cheats that get people and their companions killed. Orchard Parks smug dismissive attitude is a perfect example of the company wide indifference. If you rent from these people you will regret it. I had an excellent experience with this car rental dealer. I reserved online using an AARP discount, which saved me 20%. When I arrived at the OP location, the exact car I reserved was not available so the manager, Mark, told me to take any car that was on the lot. This was essentially a free upgrade! I rented a great car (Chevy Traverse) that was clean and in excellent condition. For the week long trip I was taking with 2 others, this vehicle suited us better than the Malibu I was expecting. All in all it was a great experience and I would certainly go here again. read more
