I am genuinely floored seeing this location has such a low rating. As a frequent Avis renter and President's Club member, I've been to at least 6-7 locations across metro Atlanta, and this was, without question, the best customer service I've experienced. My day started off rough. I had a reservation at another Avis location, and no one even showed up to open the office. Doors locked, no access, nothing. After scrambling and calling around to multiple locations with no availability, I finally got in touch with this office. Benson answered the phone, and I basically asked him, can you please hold a car for me for 20 minutes, I'm on my way right now. Without hesitation, he reassured me that I was taken care of and told me the vehicle would be ready. When I arrived, he was helping a family ahead of me who were clearly stressed, and he handled the situation with patience and professionalism. When it was my turn, I received that same level of kindness and respect. He had no idea about my status or rental history, I was just a walk-in, and he treated me like a priority. The vehicle, a Jeep Wagoneer, was exactly what I needed, and the entire process was seamless. When I returned the car the next day, Benson was just as pleasant and helpful. He truly saved my trip. His attitude, patience, and willingness to help completely turned my day around. In my opinion, this is the best Avis location in metro Atlanta, and they absolutely deserve five stars. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION OR KENNESAW.!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER ZERO STARS. Reserved an automobile weeks in advance only to arrive for an 8am pickup and told there was nothing available (with a shoulder- shrug). After 30 minutes we we told to go to the Kennesaw location (same owner) where they would provide a comparable vehicle. Once we arrived, we were quoted at twice the original rental rate. If you are planning on renting a car at this location just walk to wherever you were planning on going because you will arrive there before you get a car. I had a reservation to pick up a car at 11:00 am, but I was told no cars were available because the cleaners weren't in yet ( at 12:45pm). Then, they told me they would call me when they had a car ready and I got a call at around 4:45 pm. I showed up and was told they couldn't lend me a car. Waited all day to walk out of there carless. Few other people who were waiting when I showed up also couldn't get a car. Horrible company read more

This is by far the worst car rent experience I've ever had--we rented two vehicles for 6hrs to get us to the airport and not only did they not have one of the vehicle, they up charged me for a larger one! Plus, both vehicles were in disgusting condition! Never again Avis! read more

In retaliation, this branch charged us another $482 above and beyond initial charges for a "cleaning fee". Car was barely used and returned in a clean condition. Original Review: "Manager" cannot detail an additional $150 in charges on 5 day rental. This location, the car cleanliness, obvious marijuana tolerance in cars, the lack of car servicing, the blatant abhorrence for customers and untrained staff makes this the worst car rental experience I've ever encountered. I'm posting this review because as a business person, I try to encourage good business practices and advise customers of poor business practices for their own value of spend. First, I'd like to say that there are some things about this location that I really like. It's location near my home is ideal. Their upkeep of the office area is very nice. The accessibility of cars has also been very good at a time when that has not always been the case at other locations and agencies. However, I have just had a really bad experience that I need to share. There was a new desk agent this time. After presenting my drivers license and reservation, as usual, as a preferred member, I was still asked for my credit card, which is already on file. Even though I shared this with him, he still needed to see it. I was OK with that. then he asked about my discount, and whether I had proof that I worked for the company that I was receiving the discount from. When I explained the relationship and that as a consultant, I have been extended that discount without having an actual employment with the company he accepted that. And he then proceeded to ask me about my insurance. Now it's my understanding that you can opt not to cover the car and be responsible for all damages and charges but I do have insurance that covers my rental so I shared that with him. At which point he also wanted to get the policy numbers from my personal insurance. I gave him this. But when I asked him if all these things would be retained on file, he said no. Each time I came in I would have to do all this all over again. Now interestingly I've been a Avis preferred member probably as long as he's been alive, and I've never had to do any of these things. But who knows maybe there's new policies in place, but I will say I don't care for that because I don't arrive at the car rental desk with all that spare time to go through all these items each and every time. I guess I could just come prepared and have all this ready when I arrive if I knew in advance that all of this would be asked. but I think this is a burden on the customer and like I said a new one that I've never experienced otherwise. But the icing on the cake was the car that I was assigned was not only dirty, like it had never been washed, it smelled like illegal Substances had been smoked in it, if you know what I mean. so I turned around and I asked for a different car, which he happily provided. Didn't update the contract that he gave me so now I'm riding around with a contract with the wrong car information on it. When I arrived at this car, it was just as dirty as the last one. So I'll have you know I went to the car wash and washed the car because I don't appreciate riding in a dirty car, and it wasn't worth me going back-and-forth to the desk and waiting each time while he found another car. Now if this is your idea of customer service and how you'd like to be treated and receive services then this is a spot for you, but otherwise, I just want you to know that this is what you can look forward to. read more

It's easy to rent and you don't need a credit card, but even when you return the car on full tank of gas and cleaned out I was charged an additional $1200 for a week rental. Paid $495 and then another $212 when I returned it when I was told it was only $125. Then I wanted to extend and was told it would be an additional $365 with another $250 hold. Woke up today with my bank account in the negative and when you call their corporate number you always get a foreigner that doesn't understand you and it's hard to understand them. I asked the manager and was disconnected. The customer service rep was listening to reply and not listening to understand what I was speaking on. Avis need.to do better training with their Customer Service because you are always told different things and nothing is consistent. This is my go to on car rental. If you want a good rate go thru Costco and book this thru Avis and you'll get a good deal. The cars have always been good and clean no worries. Avis doesn't require deposits and you pay wine you turn in the car which is great. The place itself has no after hours drop offs neither does any Avis rental around here which is an issue. We rented an SUV to drive on vacation. When we picked it up we were told it had just been cleaned. It was not. There was dirt all over the floor boards, on the back seat and the exterior was filthy. The front windshield had spots of something sticky on it that did not come off after I washed it 3 times. The tire pressure light kept coming on and off. That was likely because the front tires were very worn and the alignment was off. It pulled to the right. You would think a car rental place would keep their vehicles maintained to prevent any potential accidents. read more

Do not use this company. They over sell reservations and will not have the car/SUV when you get there. When you call customer service, you have to ask for a manager to get your refund in full. Never rent from this Avis!! Terrible customer service!! This past weekend I rented a car from this location and prepaid for the vehicle. When I picked up my rental I was told I had to put my card on file just in case, we did not return the car on time, which I asked the Latino lady working at the front desk, "Will my card be charged, she responded no, we only put $100 holds on debt cards." I was using American Express so I did not think there would be a problem. When I went to check my card statement, I see an additional $100 hold on my Amex account. I followed all the rental guidelines, returned my car on time, so why was there extra charges on my Amex card. Very disappointed in the service I received. Second incident: My husband wanted to rent a pick up truck, again we prepaid. When we went to pick the car up, they didn't have a pick up truck at all, in fact told us they don't rent pick up trucks. But I literally had the rental page print out and it had a picture of the pick up truck that we had reserved and prepaid for. I rented a car at Avis from the Atlanta airport and drove it 40 miles to my house and turned the car in the next afternoon to the Acworth, Ga Avis location. No issues and no problems, after all, I only had the rental car for less then 30 hours and drove a total of 45 miles. The car sat in my garage 29 of the 30 hours I had it for. This all took place after Christmas 2014. Three days ago, almost a year later, I see a charge on my America express statement for $183 from Avis. I'm thinking what's that from? I haven't rented a car in several months. So I call AMEX to see about the charge and gather information. I get the info and call Avis. They first tell me it's a charge for wheel or tire damage and tow/roadside assistance. That makes no sense since I had zero issues with the car. I then ask to talk to a supervisor and she tells me the $183 charge is for a "chipped windshield", which was not there when I turned the car in almost a year ago. Bogus damage. The supervisor said I should have received this information in the mail, so I ask "when was this "Mail" sent out"? She said a few days ago, December 7th. Almost a full year since I turned the car in. Talk about shady business practices. So the car I turned in a year ago with zero issues and 40 miles on it, I'm getting a $183 charge for a fictitious "chipped windshield" a year later. Stay away from Avis. They will fabricate some kind of story to get a few extra dollars out of you. Take pictures of the car when you turn it in no matter who you're renting it from. Avoid Avis even if another company cost a few dollars more. Bogus damage claims will cost you more in the end. read more

found a good deal with this Avis through priceline. Got the receipt from avis and they charged an extra $350! Fuel charge- despite the car being returned full, energy recovery charge- despite the price quoted as 'all in', and a $250 cleaning fee. It is true that if you got close up to the seat in the back you could see a little dog hair- easily gotten up with a vacuum which they claim to do every time anyhow. I have made multiple rentals with Hertz for the same trip with the same dog and have never been charged a dime. Nice to see that in this covid time when your business is in the toilet you at AVIS still find a way to stick it to the customer. read more

A bad ride from start to finish This has been some of the worst service I have ever received from a car rental service. The employees were absolutely abysmal, completely aloof to all the customers, it took two and a half hours to get a car that I ordered beforehand. The first car that I received was due for service so I returned and it's replacement was several years older than the original car. This second car was absolutely not good. For starters it was not at all cleaned, the car had a musty smell and was dirty and dusty. And in a time where cleanliness is important there sure wasn't any regard for sanitation. Externally the car has scratches throughout the back and trunk and the license plate was hanging and no matter how many times we'd put it back it would fall off and hang. We had a lot of issues with the tires that were completely worn with little tread left and one of them was already punctured with a nail, which we ended up consulting a body shop where they removed the nail and patched the tire. This is a major safety hazard that was completely overlooked the company and their staff. Overall it has been a bad experience, for a company that has been on the market for so long and who's mission is to "ensure a stress-free rental service" they sure have ensured a stressful rental service. read more

I reserved a minivan on 08/10/17 for the dates 08/11/17-08/14/17. On 8/11/17 at 04:00pm I entered the Avis rental location at 3161 Cobb Pkwy NW #480 for my rental. I spoke to Mr. Greg Rodriguez who stated, we do not have a minivan for rental and we cannot control our inventory. I advised Mr. Rodriguez my reservation was booked for 2:00pm on 08/11/17 and I arrived at 04:00pm. I questioned when Mr. Rodriguez planned to contact me as a customer to advise me the vehicle was not available for rental. Mr. Rodriguez stated "I have been busy all day. You were on my list to call but I didn't make it to you." Mr. Rodriguez then stated "There's nothing I can do." I then walked out to call other local rentals and Mr. Rodriguez left the front desk. Upset with us, he decided to go to the back leaving my wife in the front with no information. I then waited approximately 5 minutes and decided to go to Chic-Fil-A while we waited for the airport location to call back. My wife and I left the location and returned in approximately 10 minutes. I walked into the location and Mr. Rodriguez stood at the counter. I then asked him if he had heard from the airport location. Mr. Rodriguez stated "Yes, they had a Pathfinder available." He then stated "You guys left." I advised Mr. Rodriguez that we went to get dinner from Chic-Fil-A located 5 minutes from his location. He continued to repeat "But you guys left." I then asked Mr. Rodriguez what time the vehicle would arrive. Mr. Rodriguez repeated "You guys left so I told them to cancel." I then advised Mr. Rodriguez we went to get dinner and the last communication we had was that we were waiting on a call from the airport regarding an expected delivery time. He then repeated "You guys left." He stated "I came out and I saw you guys leave." I questioned Mr. Rodriguez advising him that he was being extremely unprofessional by taking my wife and his conversation personal. I advised him that we had an agreement and it was not to cancel anything. I then requested the owner's telephone number and left the location. Mr. Greg Rodriguez not only disregarded our rental agreement but he created a hostile environment by arguing with us, the customer. Mr. Rodriguez was rude, belligerent and callous to a situation caused by Avis. Needless to say, I went to Enterprise (3265 Cobb Pkwy N #1, Acworth, GA 30101) and was able to get a rental 5 minutes before they closed. The representative (Ms. J. Daniel) called us within a 10 minute window and provided us with an amazing rental. My suggestion, skip Avis and go to the Enterprise 500 feet away. read more

WORST experience EVER! PLEASE READ -Save you the TROUBLE. Horrible mistake of entrusting Avis with providing transportation to a once in a lifetime family Christmas vacation to Disney's 90th anniversary. Who knew Avis would be the GRINCH who tried to STEAL Christmas!!! I reserved a 12 passenger van more than a month in advance. Upon arriving at the pickup location in Acworth, GA on N. Cobb Parkway, Ms. O. Kennedy, Avis independent operator immediately informed me of her unsuccessful attempt to reach me. That's odd, I've had same number for over 30 years. No missed calls or messages. Avis "flat "apologies was greatly overshadowed by their unwillingness to provide a meaningful solution for obviously "overbooking". Despite, checking 4 days in advance of pickup, I still couldn't avoid this stressful situation. Finally, Avis admitted they had no cars, trucks, boats, planes or even a pair of skates to offer and the chances of receiving any type of rental vehicle was slim to none!!! It gets worst, the representative attempted to comfort me, by informing me that 17 other individuals were also in the same situation with their AVIS reservations. How simply awful!!!! The lack of concern shown by customer service and employees at the rental location is disheartening. They said find a similar vehicle, we'll pay the difference. Really? AVIS failed to honor our reservation or email free rental coupons. I can't describe my utter dismay and disappointment in AVIS!!! However, in the 11th hour, ENTERPRISE rental in Acworth, GA came to our rescue!!!!! They were Christmas Angels who saved the day! They began calling around to secure us a 12 passenger van, which they did. I can't thank Enterprise enough!!!! I highly recommend me ENTERPRISE. As for AVIS, I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER rent another vehicle from them. I am cutting up my AVIS PREFERRED Wizard card, because I prefer Enterprise, who values me as a customer and saved Christmas for my grandchildren!!! I do not recommend AVIS. read more

The worst experience I have had renting a car. I was given the car late. The car was dirty and had no floor mats. When I returned the car, the rep threatened me with a $250 fee if I did not go vaccume the car because it had a little sand (not much) on the floor. THE CAR WAS DIRTY WHEN I GOT IT AND IT HAD NO FLOOR MATS!!!!!!! They are supposed to clean these car between rentals. I will NEVER, EVER use this place again. They are the absolute worst. read more
