I'm giving a shout out to Daniel who works at this location. I've rented from here a few times and he has always been helpful. The first time, I had a minivan reserved but it was not available. I was pretty frustrated and let him know that but he handled it very professionally. I know it's not his fault. The next time I rented a few months later he remembered who I was and was very pleasant and professional. He has a good attitude and gets the job done. My first time renting a car from this location. I discovered that they are both Avis and Budget. I booked the night before, and they have inventory to provide me with a car in the morning. They were able to give me a car that I like, and it was very clean. There was no smell inside the car. The staff was not as friendly, and he seemed to be in a rush with me. When he handed me the car keys, he told me that "all the damages were noted, and you are all set." When I walked to the car, I saw quite a number of scratches, so I did not feel comfortable. I walked back to the office, and requested a walk through with another staff. She is very patient, and noted all the damages with me, which I appreciated. I was supposed to return my car at 11:30, but I was running behind. I called and asked if I can drop off the rental at 12:30pm. Another staff approved it. Customer service was great, the minivan that we got was pretty amazing. Upon picking up the vehicle, there were a lot of dings and scratches all over the car (wear and tear I get it). The interior could have been cleaned a lot better also. I ended up having to clean the interior myself, all the cup holders were sticky and covered in residue, some cup holders in the back still had trash and Kandi bracket beads in them. It just didn't seem that the car got cleaned thoroughly. Also, getting a plug in hybrid I was expecting a charging cable that normally comes with an electric vehicle when you purchase it to be in the vehicle for our convenience so we can utilize the charging electric capability but when I called them after realizing it's missing, they told me that the van is just used as a van and they don't provide the cables, so my question is what happens to the dealer provided cables that come with the car when purchased? Besides that great place to get a rental car easy check in and check out. read more

There are two guys who work here. The older guy isn't very helpful, but the younger guy is great! There isn't a great selection of cars available here since it is such a tiny lot, but we've been able to get a set of wheels each time we've needed them, just be prepared to pay more since they usually only have larger cars. read more

I came here for a rental recently since my car was at the shop. I booked it the night before and was able to secure one for the following morning. Service was quick and easy. I was even able to check-in earlier (for an earlier return the following day of course), without any issues. The rental without their insurance was about $40 for a 24-hour day, which wasn't bad for a basic car. The reason for knocking down one star is that the car had a smell when stepping in. It had about 23k miles and didn't look like it was washed. The gentleman who was helping me reasoned that the cars get dirty because of the train that drives behind their store; fair, but the dirt wasn't the kind that just lands on there - it looked older. Nevertheless, I wasn't going to complain as I just needed to hit the ride. When in a pickle, Avis is just fine for a rental. read more

So, made reservations last night for a rental car for my Boo. Something told me to go in instead of just dropping him off. Well, good thing I did because we were told that even though we had reservations, they didn't have any cars. He called another Avis and they didn't have any cars either. We do not live in Arcadia, I just happen to be going that way because I had an appointment in Laverne. Unsure how a reservation can be booked when there are no cars available and then there is no resolution offered. I would think that a phone call could have been made. Luckily we call Enterprise in Pasadena and was able to pick up a nice car immediately upon our return from my appointment. read more

After breakfast, I hopped in my rental, set the GPS and started off. Then my GPS unit died. Shit. After panicking for a good ten minutes, plugging and re-plugging in the GPS, I concluded that the GPS really did bite the dust. Luckily, my phone had Google Maps, so I used that to find this AVIS location. Thank goodness for modern technology; I wasn't totally flying blind. Paul troubleshooted my bum GPS and we discovered that the power connector mysteriously broke off in the cigarette lighter. I filed an incident report with AVIS (took about 10 minutes), and received a replacement GPS unit. It was an older model GPS, but I was happy to have one at all. Thanks to Paul's quick reasoning skills and solid service, I didn't waste much time, and was on my way in no time flat. No complaints here! read more

No stars if I could. Fleas/ticks were in the 12 seater van, found an hour within use of car. Obviously we weren't going to go back to swap it due to a likely low supply of the type of vehicle we needed. Called customer service and they didn't do anything. Upon return of vehicle, male manager put the blame on us, the customers. He also claimed the van was clean because he cleaned it and then he said he would talk to the person who cleaned it. This rental place from Avis has very bad customer service. There are 3 people I encountered out of which the lady who is a part of the business francise is very rude and not caring to customers. I think her name is Christina. Her husband is another person who has the same attitude. The third person who limps is a nice guy who has less to do with the ownership. The lady charged us a full day rental plus insurance for 35 minute delay in return. She also said that they cannoy do pick up or drop off as well when our place was within 4 miles from the rental location. All together they charged us $100 plus and the car they provided had no bluetooth, gave us a mini van, and was different than what we booked. Please never go to this place. But Avis corpprate customer service was great and good company. In business you need patience and understanding which was never seen there. Also one more thing, when they do a car inspection thet dont mark certain damages which later they say oh we see this damage. So this place is a scam. Please be careful. I don't think I've ever had SUCH a horrible experience at a car rental before. Came in asking for a quote for a car (I work across the street) since I was unfamiliar with the Costco-Avis thing going on, and man, the guy working the front desk was EXTREMELY rude. I walked in, and there were no customers except for two people on the line. That's fine, I patiently waited... but the rep there had me wait even longer while he made a PERSONAL call. One more call came in, and the rep was nothing near polite with that customer. He was throwing attitude left and right with the customer, and was probably at the edge of yelling at the poor customer who only wanted more information. 15 minutes later, it's finally my turn! Yay! Spoke too soon - asked my questions, and this guy was talking to me like I was a dumbass. I asked him politely to just give me the answers to my questions instead of tacking on all this rude and pointless commentary. His response? He's busy. Yes, busy making personal calls when there's an actual customer sitting in the "lobby" area. Needless to say, I left. I'm not coming back to this Avis. I don't recommend anyone coming to this Avis. If you really really really need to rent a car, go to a different Avis, or better yet, Enterprise. read more

I have to say I am extremely disappointed with this company and this location specifically. After getting into an accident last night I called them around 1130 this morning. The guy that answered the phone said that he was really busy and would call me back. I made sure to mention that I was looking to pick up a car today since mine was not drivable. He took down my number and said again he would call me back. A little after 12 I still had not heard from them and because they closed at one I decided to take a Lyft over there. When I got there there were no customers and the guy I had spoken to was washing one of the cars. After explaining again that I needed a car because I had been in an accident he said that they did not direct bill my insurance and that I would have to pay upfront and be reimbursed. That was odd because when I had tried to chat online with someone from Avis last night they said all they would need was a claim number and a phone number to contact my insurance with. Regardless, it's been an extremely stressful day and I did not feel that the person I was dealing with cared at all. I ended up having to take a Lyft home again and I've been without a car today. I will be going to enterprise tomorrow to rent something from them. Whoever this Daniel is that everyone talks about in these reviews and says is such a great guy he definitely wasn't there today. read more

Very disappointed in this rental location and Avis in general. I want to give a no star but think I had to click the 1 Star. I booked a vehicle 6 weeks ahead of a trip and the day of pickup they tell me they can't locate the vehicle. Totally unacceptable. Then instead of doing everything they can to help their customer (me) who by the way paid upfront, the told me "you should go to one of our competitors". This just 3 hours before my trip. This location in Arcadia did nothing to help me so I had to do all the work to locate the vehicle at Ontario Airport and race over there to get it (and drop off). All very poor customer service. The 800 line call I made also gave me a representative of Avis telling me they can't do anything - until I came up with ideas to service myself. My office I've been in for over 20 years is another 500' from this Arcadia location. You would think they would take care of everyone and especially neighbors. Be very careful before you book.
