This misinformation led me to make unnecessary changes, costing me time and money. I trusted this company due to my long-term relationship with them, but they've shown a lack of integrity and respect for their customers. I've been renting from Avis on Siegen lane for 8 months, spending over $12,000 during this time. Despite my loyalty, I've been consistently misinformed about multiple issues. There is no such thing as a reservation when it comes to Uber rentals, be prepared to be lied to about that. Avis can block your account for any reason and will lie and say it's Uber. Let me help you out and this comes from the supervisor's mouth I have him on video and audio saying "I don't care what Uber or whoever's on that phone says I make up my own rules" I will post some of the screenshots from time Avis blocked my account and lied and said it was Uber. One of the most recent lies "On multiple occasions, I was told by Avis that Uber requires drivers to transition to an all-electric vehicle by 1/10/2025. However, after verifying with Uber, I found this information to be completely false. No one can waste time finding a charger station, waiting in line for a 200 miles limit car. All I wanted was to keep a gas car. Sad too many lies. I will post videos on YouTube and all platforms. I have over 55 screenshot and videos. I cannot recommend this company to other Uber drivers or renters. Honesty and transparency are critical in this business, and Avis has failed on both fronts. If I could give this place 10 million negative reviews I would. The manager Mark has no clue about customer service. When you are a customer for certain companies they give you perks for being a member. As a Varsity athlete we pay for membership into the club. You get cub perks as a member not as an employee. I even pulled up the website to show him it was for customers. Attached is the email and it is accessible to the public and we are varsity members. We use it when traveling to competitions but since my car is in the shop I rented a car to travel. The owner wanted me to pay an extra $150 on a day rental. I may add that I have used the same discount numerous times. They either don't have cars, they smell like smoke or they are all beat up! Do not waste your time or business with this place! The experience I just had with Mark at the Siegen Lane location over the phone was abousletly HORRIBLE! He was rude and his tone was very condescending to say the least. I will NEVER rent from ANY Avis Car Rental again and I'm encouraging anyone I know to do the same. I really hope that call was recorded and someone pulls it to hear how impolite, ill-mannered, and discourteous he is to customers. I understand everyone has a bad day but when you work with the public you need to conduct yourself in a manner deserving of return customers. I'd appreciate a follow up from management. read more

I had a reservation to pick up a car for a week starting on Sept. 28 at noon. I arrived at 1215 to find no cars available. I had reserved an intermediate. After waiting for a car, a compact became available so I took it. A cube..not the 4 sedan that I had reserved. It was dirty, the seats were wet and smelled HORRIBLY of smoke! I went directly to the store to buy fabric freshener, but did absolutely no good. The smell was nauseating. I am on chemo, so this did nothing for my already sensitive stomach. Less than 48 hours later, I found out that family members were diagnosed with Covid so I needed to return home. I called the store early on Sept. 30 and was told that I could return early and that I would not have to pay the weekly rate. Upon returning the car, the owner of this location was helping me. He told me my total for the rental period was 265.00. I was very taken back. He said the best he could do was 200.03 for 2 days. I had also only driven the car at this point for 34 miles. He actually charged me extra for driving the the car less than 75 miles. WTH. Shouldn't you get charged less? And now he can rent the car again and make more money since I returned the car early! Upon entering the store the date of return, I was helped by an employee NOT wearing a mask. There are signs posted clearly all around the facility stating you must wear a mask to enter. This made me VERY uncomfortable. Obviously the owner doesn't enforce his rules for everyone. On the date of the rental, I heard an employee telling a person that their prepaid rate was not honored. She left without a car. I heard a lady being told that her credit wasn't approved yet she had already prepaid for the car! Not sure what is going on at this location, but I certainly do not recommend. read more

Terrible service--slow with rude employees. Also said they couldn't honor the online price and wanted to charge me more for an upgrade since they didn't have the car. Lady at the desk got snappy so I just left. So I walked across the street to Enterprise. SO glad I did! They were way more professional and extremely friendly at enterprise. Cheaper, too!!! CREDIT CHECK?! Today we went to AVIS/BUDGET to rent a car for a week. They asked for a credit card. I no longer use credit cards and guess what.... THEY DON'T TAKE CASH! I would have paid in Advance. But they will take a debit card if you show them a utility bill with your name and address on it. I have been a resident for many years but our utility bills are in my husbands name. So even though I had the appropriate amount in my debit account, they hen they told me I could not rent from Budget because my credit was not good. NOT TRUE. My credit is very good. I'm emailing as a first time renter of your establishment. First & foremost I enjoyed the RENTAL not the rental process. From the start I was haggled for insurance information which I understand you want your vehicle insured but I also make the AGENT NICHOLAS ( Nick ) at the Seigan lane location in Baton Rouge La on November 4 2022 at 5pm to be returning November 5 2022 at 1pm . I returned 30 minutes late the place was close . Since I have previous rental experience & employment I thought this was smart BECAUSE I WAS NEVER DISCLOSED otherwise! I paid 112.00 +dep that was cheaper than my reservation because nick thought he was doing me a favor ( after I presented him with an insurance card & he denied it stating it's liability only -- which is false but I don't pay the insurance to know any better my spouse does!!! HE LIED FOR THE SALE! whatever I returned the vehicle November 5 130 pm. Keys center console fully gassed but on November the 8 I called to make sure my rental agreement was closed they MARK AGENT NUMBER 64375 informed me that I " can't expect to leave the keys in the parking lot & expect it to be checked it " BUT AS A CUSTOMER I CAN EXPECT YOU TO SURVEY YOUR LOT COMPLETELY. he charged me 500 dollars plus change even after I disclosed his agent didn't make me AWARE of any such policy OR make it his business to fully disclose! I shouldn't be held accountable for him lack of disclosure. When I asked for corporate number he told me HE HAS NO BOSS HE OWNS THE LOCATION. so he must think he can't do whatever he wants & get away with it. he let me know he closed me out for NOVEMBER 8 when he vehicle was definitely returned before then I work OVER NIGHT. I have documented evidence. please help with this grievance I will escalate as high as POSSIBLE! read more

Mark was big help. When enterprise down the street gave me the runaround, ('no cars..but those..can't have those...uh whenever..etc), I called Avis & they said they'd have cars in a few minutes. Polite service, ended up fed-up with enterprise; I was a longtime customer-but never treated like that. So I came here, he had car ready, paperwork finished quick. I can not say enough great things about this Avis and the outstanding customer service. Although I have rented from this Avis multiple times (without any problem) my most recent rental is definitely the 'above and beyond' kind of customer service that the world is missing right now. I have been dealing with a nightmare of waiting on car repairs with a dealership. I have been in a rental for over two months. I initially went to Enterprise (due to having a code for a discount) only to be pulled from the rental after 30 days with no explanation other than an out of town drivers license. I quickly went to Avis and vowed to never go back to Enterprise. I went in to Avis to renew my contract and happened to have a conversation with Mark, the owner. He, without my asking or hesitation offered to match the rate and gave me the rate for the duration of the rental. Although the discount was nice, it was more of the kind nature and the 'break' that I needed in the circumstances that I have been dealing with that made this so much more meaningful. I will continue to give my business any day to the "little guy" and pay a little of a higher rate rather than the terrible customer service at Enterprise any day. read more

We went here for a road trip because it was the best price for a 7 passenger SUV. We were scheduled to pick up the car at 2pm the Friday before Christmas(so we were already stressed from fighting traffic to get there) and we arrive early just to find out that they didn't have our car and that the other car they could give us was down airline at pepboys! The lady who helped us called her driver to have him bring it over and he had left and refused to turn around to get it! So then she had to find another driver, who didn't know how to get there, to go and drive it. She tried to have us get it but we would have to sign the paperwork before we would leave before seeing the car so we refused. We left to get some food since they said it would a while and came back and the driver hadn't even made it to pepboys. We left the person who had the car in their name at Avis so that the rest of the group could go and run errands that we had planned to do when we got the car. Long story short: we planned to leave Baton Rouge at 2:30, 3 at the latest. We left at 5:30 pm in prime rush our traffic!! We were furious and it took us this long to write a review because we didn't want to write it while we had the car just in case something happened. THAT is how angry we are! My experience at Avis Rent A Car was the worst. I called over the phone to booked a car. When I arrived I give them my name. They pulled up my researvations. For payment, I pulled of a cash credit card (which my part-time job pays me on). The reprenter took my credit card and said it didn't go through because it was an cash credit card. Well, I asked what type of credit card will be needed to process my payment. He stated a debit card. I handed him my debit card and he refuse to take it becuase he's not allow to use two credit cards. Well, I asked if you knew that was the policy why didn't you tell my that from the beginning BEFORE you tried to process the cash credit card. He didn't have anything to say after that. I called there customer service to see if I can get any type of assistant with this matter. The customer service lady asked to speak to Mr. Mark Hotard, he told the lady that my card decline, which was a LIE. Mark Hotard witness the entire situation from the beginning and did not informed the younger (new) representer about the credit card policy. Mark Hotard attitude was very nasty and arrogant. I asked is there anyone else I can speak to in regard to this matter, he replied " There's no one else you can talk to besides me and AT THIS POINT I AM AVIS" He was not helpful in anyway. read more
