Located just off I-10 in Denham Springs this was the perfect place to stop for a overnight stay while traveling west out of Florida - We arrived just after 2:00 PM and we were greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff here. After a few minutes of going over the amenities we were escorted to our site and the gentleman stayed with us until we had parked and aligned with all the utilities and he verified that all our slide outs were clear of any of the trees. All the sites are pull-through sites which really makes it easy to get an early start the following morning. The site was very level and there was plenty of room to park our chase vehicle. The utilities and hookups are all well maintained and we had no issues. There are lots of things to do inside the campground although we chose just to get some steps in and visit the campground store before going to dinner in town and relax for the next leg of our trip. We were given some complimentary trinkets and souvenirs at the store of the surrounding area which was very nice of the staff and unexpected. This is definitely a place we would return to when traveling through the area everything here made for a great stay and we couldn't have asked for a better staff to interact with, this is definitely one of the top KOA's we've stayed at... read more

First off - I can't stress enough what a fantastic place this is! This was my first KOA experience and the contrast between the two previous reviews had me a little nervous. Now for the good stuff - the details! We were in Baton Rouge visiting family and friends as well as attending events at LSU. We decided it would be fun to camp so we booked several days at the Baton Rouge East KOA and towed an RV. First off Denham Springs is a really nice town. It's not urban - if anything its suburban (and very close to rural areas) and the camp ground is between an elementary school and a church in a nice area on a side street. If you need something it won't be hard to find. There is a CVS you pass just up the street. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. They were particularly good to our children, who had a great time. We tried all of the activities and enjoyed them all. The place is spotlessly clean! The showers, laundry area, game room, pool - seriously for all the campers in and out I did not expect it to be SO NICE! There was no debris in the pool or pool area despite the tall trees everywhere. The rest rooms and shower areas are obviously cleaned for detail as the grout was pristine and there was zero smell. The mirrors were smudgless. Seriously, I was very impressed! In general the atmosphere is pleasant. There were flowers planted all over. There are places to sit and enjoy in the shade - both treed and shade structured. The buildings all had cold a/c. If you are headed to LSU this is a good location too because its easy to hop on I10 and cruise over. Obviously it's not walking distance. In the past, We have stayed in several BR hotels and honestly won't do so again as this was so much fun. I really can't stress how great this place is. We will absolutely be back and would recommend it especially for families. read more

We stayed here during our cross country move this past summer. Moving cross country in the middle of a pandemic is less than ideal. But all the KOAs we stayed at (including the one in Baton Rogue) were nice clean little breaks after a long day of driving. read more

Just an overnight but arrived after dark. Office was still open and staff was so helpful and patient. Big rig friendly park, wide lanes, good internal roads. Full hookups and 50 amps worked well. Showers were great, lots of hot water. Easy in and out. Overall a pleasant overnight stay. read more

We recently spent six days at the Baton Rouge KOA. The park is a bit dated and run down; although the spaces are paved, the concrete is cracking and does not look pretty. Functionally our space was flat and we only had a direct neighbor one night, the campground was very empty during our stay except for the full-time section in the rear. It was a nice place to stay but I could not get over the high price. This RV park had water, sewer, and electric hookups. They also had many Cable channels available and the WiFi worked well during our stay. There was a small laundry room and the bathrooms were a bit dated, but clean. All-in-all the RV campground was pretty standard. Like most KOAs, this one charged about $5-10 more per night than they should, it is really a $30-35 per night campground but we paid $46 per night. Would I recommend this park? Only for a night or two, not too much longer. Would we come back? If we are passing through. Informational: We travel in a 36' Class A RV. read more

We have been to several KOAs and some have been lacking. This KOA is the perfect example of someone that takes pride in their business. It is clean, amenities are great, and I cannot say enough great things about the employees. They are so kind, respectful, and always want to help. I feel like I've know them forever. We had a major malfunction just as we pulled into our site. They made sure we had rv repairman name, and that we had the spot for as long as it takes to get our wheel fixed. This place is pristine. Probably the nicest KOA we've stayed in so far. Amenities include a store, laundry, pool, game room, miniature golf, Rec center where they provide breakfast on the weekends, two bathroom buildings, dog park and walking trails. Landscaped beautifully. All RV sites are paved. Cabins available. Located in suburb of Baton Rouge less than 10 miles from downtown. Loved it! read more

It's funny how stark the contrast between a friendly person and a rude person can be sometimes. In the hospitality industry, we take it for granted that we can expect hospitality when we arrive to a destination, bleary-eyed from travel. This, of course, isn't always the case. When I arrived to the Kampgrounds of America, Inc. at Baton Rouge on Monday evening, I was 'greeted' by a hostile, rude woman who nearly didn't let me and my husband stay simply because we had a bed in our van (as well as a tent)--in fact, she seemed to be mocking me for even having my van set up like that to begin with. Luckily, one of her colleagues shooed her away and kindly let me register for a site, while telling me about his plans to drive straight to Panama soon. No thanks to her. All the thanks to him. I'd give this review 2 or 3 stars to even out the unkind, abrasive older woman with the kind man, but the campground itself was nothing to write home about. The reason why we pulled over and coughed up the money to stay at the KOA in the first place was because we were hoping for at least a semi-shaded area with some privacy, but when we were finally allowed to camp, our site was right out in the open, like a parking lot, without a single tree around and another camper's tent right beside our site with zero barrier between. In the end, I felt barked at and patronized, which was moderately negated by the friendly attitude of the man who registered me, but again compromised by the poor quality of the site we paid to rent. This KOA looks nice and has a 4 star review. The only problem is that the lady who answered the phone doesn't give you time to ask the question, the answer is " NO ". I started by trying to say I had left a message, she cut me off and said NO. I said I didn't ask the question yet! She said NO, and hung up. Nice manners!!! We stayed at the BR KOA two nights. The pool wasn't open for winter season, but the RV park is clean and the sites level with gravel and nice, clean pavers at each site. The park is clean, and easy access to I-49, with good restaurants nearby and close to East BR. The staff are wonderful. All of them are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The staff asked if we were KOA value members, and in a very kind way, showed us how to save $17 on that visit alone, after the $30 fee. And we are staying a two more KOA'S! I highly recommend this RV park. (The LP gas was expensive tho.) read more

We fall on the good side as it was very clean, the folks working on our shift were super helpful, and everything was quiet, peaceful, and very normal. The folks managing this RV park have all the southern hospitaltity one could ask for! We were traveling thru, & had a bad blow-out on I-12 during a rainstorm. This looks like it was once a beautiful campground. They have not kept up with it. The dog park has not been scooped in so long that the dog poop that has been left behind is turning white. When we made reservations we were not told that the swimming pool was not in use, and were unhappily surprised to see it empty when we arrived. Our first morning we were greeted by a medium-sized black and white dog who was coming after us and our dogs. When we reported it to the management we were told they had the "pound" out trying to catch it but were unsuccessful. When I volunteered to help trap it during our week-long stay I was told they didn't know how to contact the "pound". Our third day there we saw the dog belonged to one of the work campers, when it was pushed out the door of a travel trailer in the very last row of the campground while we were walking our dogs. The management are very friendly and they smile when they lie to your face. We are members of KOA and we have reported them, but as a franchise they can pretty much do what they want. read more

Super clean bathrooms, great pool, peaceful, and really nice staff! We really enjoyed our stay here and we will be back! Kids loved the water feature at the pool and they also have mini golf. Restrooms were updated nicely and cleanest I've ever seen at a campsite. Highly recommend! read more

This is a great campground so please disregard Elizabeth's review. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Maybe they have had issues in the past with people who live in their cars and that lead to Elizabeth's experience. When we checked in they even have us dog biscuits for our dogs. The campground is clean and well kept. It is in a more urban area but it is safe and they have security. The bathrooms and showers that are new and clean and an amazing pool with a waterfall and new playground for the kids. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others. read more

This was the closest and decent RV park in the area. We stopped by to check for availability one weekend and it was full. So, we asked to be put on the waiting list. However, the old lady said the waiting list is only for returning customers, so she can not add our name to it. My husband called 2days later and spoke with a younger woman, who mentioned that they DO have a waiting list and it's open to everyone! She was kind and asked if we wanted to be added to the list. We ended up receiving a call a few days later and took the spot. The older lady we dealt with was there at check in, she was not happy to see us. We have a fairly new trailer and truck so that can't be her problem. However, since we were in the deep south it makes you wonder what her issue is.... We ended up staying for a couple of weeks, there was no way I would give her the satisfaction of us leaving right away :) The other staff members we're pleasant. The park is decent, there were several garbage disposals on site so it makes it easy to throw garbage bags without walking too far. The laundry facilities were horrible. One is behind the office, it had 4-6washers but only 2 dryers. The other was located in the mid-section of the park, outside a bldg, 2 washer/dryer. All washer/dryers are outdated.....There was a community park behind them as well, which has a b-ball court, soft ball field, bbq/picnic tables, paved walking/bike path, it's a good size park and very clean. read more

TRAVELER BEWARE, GREAT PLACE TO YOU NEED ENGAGEMENT FROM OWNER. I gave this review 1 star as it was a nice facility, but only on the surface. Since KOAs allow long term transit workers in the campground user beware, and watch your children. Vacationers are not the primary focus of this KOA. The laundry machines were defective and saturated our clothes with a putrid smell, possibly from transit workers clothing or worse Local Meth Lab. This smell cannot be removed so all the clothes, several pants, shirts, underwear, etc even after washed several times with vinegar, ammonia, and backing soda can not be worn without affecting wearers resporitory. Clothes were disposed of as the stench of chemicals was so bad they could not be donated. To worsen things I have written the owners several emails to which not even a simple sorry to hear about your concern. Wrote KOA corporate, they washed their hands and refuse to engage. In this day and age where we are surrounded by predators, family's are not safe and I will think twice before I stay at camp grounds that allow long term transients, never know who is next door to your children. I also stayed at a total of 10 other KOAs on this trip and if there were concerns, one changed our site, the owners replied immediately to our concern email. This facility is run by owners who do not even take time to engage with vacationing families that have a concern so USER BEWARE, THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS KOA, THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER RESORTS IN THAT AREA. to the point...we arrived tired and ready for a little bit of Louisiana night life. Upon arriving we were greeted in the office by workamping couple Ray and Pat. Pat was friendly and very professional. She promptly took our reservation and answered any questions we had. Ray who was just passing through stopped what he was doing to greet and speak. We shared workamping stories and chatted for a bit. When all the paperwork was done Ray escorted us to our site...extra long site for our 40' mh with a car in tow. Thanks Pat for being so accommodating. It was getting dark and had been raining most of the day. The campground roads looked a bit rough but to the left we did notice a well kept putt putt course. Around the corner to the right was again what appeared to be a very well kept, clean and fenced pool area. After reading past reviews we paid special attention to the condition of the sites (pads). They all looked to be in good shape from what we could tell, ours, brand new and with a fire pit and pad for the picnic table. Nice. Took Jojo for a walk while Steven hooked us up. It was quiet but again, also raining. Found the dog park. It too was very nice and very well kept and with an agility course. Thank you to those who frequented and picked up after your pet! They offered pet poop bags and a place to discard them and for the most part it seemed as though guests used them. We left for a night out, returned home and had a restful night's sleep . As we departed in the morning we took the opportunity to speak with Brandon and Daiquiri, employees of the campground. Also, very nice, very friendly people. Brandon told us about all the work they had been doing to improve the park and was grateful for his job. They both seemed happy working here. On our way out we did also notice a nice covered pavilion and game room. Noticed was all so can't speak with any authority on either. Would we return...absolutely. For a night or two. Our experience and the reason K'OA campgrounds are not our campground of choice is exactly what most people complain about...the high cost. We find many campgrounds who offer more amenities for less $'s. Would I bring kids here? I do believe they welcome families with children...hard to say how well received they would be by other guests. We have been to so many that discourage little ones or even younger people and that does not sit well with us at all being that we both grew up camping with our families. Parents, if you have a good imagination and use it to keep your little ones occupied and well behaved this may be just the spot for you. read more

Towing 28' Sportsman I'm somewhat local so I know that this campground, that use to be in the country is now a lot more closer to city amenities. (which can be both a good or bad thing depending on your point of view.) We drew a lot closest to the arcade. We came by to confirm our reservation a month ago and roads were bad. When we camped they had just repaved the roads which was a GREAT thing. They have all the perks of a KOA (two dog areas, putt-putt, pool, arcade and travel store) with walking access to a city park at the end of the campground. You can almost see Bass Pro shops from the front of the KOA. Walking to BPS and surrounding shops can be done by foot as the home owner across the street also owns the KOA here, however traffic gets a little much during normal high traffic hours of a day so.. be careful if you take by foot. Overall a very nice campground close to baton rouge. read more

As KOAs go, this one is decent. LeRoy was super friendly upon check in and even escorted us to our site in his golf cart. We only stayed one night, and getting in later evening, I was disappointed that the hot tub closes at 8pm. Would've been nice to relax in the outdoor jacuzzi under the stars after a long several days on the road. The cost was $57 for the night, which I think is a little pricey based on the fact that we arrived late, left early and didn't get to use any of the amenities. The grounds were well kept and very neat. The fenced dog park was GREAT. I peeked my head in a bathroom and it appeared clean. One problem was that AT&T phones didn't work at all here, but my verizon phone worked fine. Lots of restaurant choices within a short driving distance. There's an elementary school right next door that shares the property line, so the good news with that is, no sex offenders should be staying at this resort. ;) read more
