On the Avis website it says this location has an after-hours key drop available, but I walked all around the building and parking lot last night and didn't see one anywhere. I returned this morning at 8am when the location says it opens to find the building locked with no one inside. I waited another 20min until the attendant finally arrived and he was not apologetic or professional - just took the keys and said they got rid of their key drop 4 or 5 years ago (how Avis has not fixed this on their website by this point is beyond me). I booked for a car Wednesday online for a rental Monday morning at 0800, as I'm on my way to pickup my rental they call at 0750 and inform me there was no cars available. when I booked online it said that there were cars available. To get a better understanding I came to the store and MR. Perry for clarification on my reservation, he redirected me to the airport for a car, not informing that it will be an additional $60 airport fee if I booked there. MR. Perry is very aggressive when he talks to his customer, not aware of what's happening in the store, and gives out false information. Please save yourself the hassle of booking at this location. I made a reservation day prior to pick up. I went in and he looked me up, found the reservation, but said they had no cars. It says online that they do, it allowed me to make the reservation. I recently rented an avis car in Ft Myers for a 4 day conference in Sanibel harbor Marriot. The recent hurricanes and sudden rainstorm downpours resulted in a muddy and dirty parking garage. Inevitable the car floor became dirty and muddy but it could not be avoided. They are charging my credit card $250 to clean the interior. This was my deposit which they said was required in addition to the rental charge. Needless to say I will not be using Avis in the future and I would not recommend them. A reasonable cleaning charge I could understand but they automatically charged my entire deposit . Made an online reservation Sunday night, customer service number said there were plenty of cars available at this location, but Tanya informed us that our reservation was not there but she would take care of us. I returned an avis rental and after passing the TSA check, I realized I forgot my Jim Maui sunglasses in the vehicle. No one ever answers the phone and I filed a missing item report online. The following week I showed up to the airport again and they said the person in charge downstairs is not available. After dozens of calls, a person from Avis told me they never found any items related to me. I told them why don't you go to the person who checked in my car and get it off of his face. While trying to call the 800 number to see what to do, someone showed up in jeans and a sweatshirt, didn't acknowledge me at all and unlocked the door. When I went to go inside he said "just wait." I showed up for a rental needed for business and was informed, while waiting in he parking lot for them to open, that they didn't have the car I booked, didn't have an upgrade and just to call customer service. Didn't offer to call another location, etc. So I called customer service and it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had period with any type of industry. Absolute horrible experience. Customer service is non existent. Waited for over an hour to get a moving truck and once we received the keys the truck had an issue. No apologies no nothing for our wait or poor service. Then when I asked if my child could use the restroom they said they didn't have one??? What place of business doesn't have a bathroom it may not be for customers but you have one. After your customers have waited for an hour you would think that they would be willing to do anything to appease a child. NO! this location can lie through their teeth and right in front of your face. Three months is a long time to wait for a car. First I was told I am number 20 on the list , then after few weeks they said they will call me , after a month and half I called and they said next week monday and when Monday came they said I wasn't even On the list . I made another reservation and I was told I am number 8 this time and I called back I was told I am number 2 and was told to call back monday and we will have a car ready for you . I called back I was told I am number 2 still. I asked when will I get into a car they said on Wednesday for sure and Wednesday came they said I was number 3 and call back Monday.
